Well, this is not bad for an "abandoned" simulator to have so many topics and an odd 10000+ messages. Except for FS I would say for the number of participants in here it is somewhat above average if I take a wild guess looking at other forums like 747, Fly! and so on...It didn't check for a long time, but I presume at the "over the fence" website some of this forum also posts there as well.Wonder if there is a way to have the topics in an alphabetic order stashed away somewhere for reference!Pieter

Hello again!Perhaps you know the problem yourself: In some aircraft, e.g the great DHC-8, you simply cannot see the ground while taxiing or the runway on final while in IFR-mode. As I recognized from the answers to my heli-post a few days ago, it should somehow be possible to change the angle of view. Could anyone please tell me how? I just completed a flight from one region to the other. I chose the Beechjet for speed and took it to 40,000 ft to get the best true speed (TAS). A quick flight school lesson: The indicated airspeed of 210 knots shows within a narrow speed window. At 40,000 ft there's a quite slim margin between stall speed and overspeed. On the other hand, 210 kias (knots indicated airspeed) translates to 420 knots of true airspeed (TAS) and (in this case) 410 knots of ground speed. Has anyone here ever seen a review of ANY add-on package for Flight Unlimited 3 ? I noticed that the REVIEWS section claims to have reviews of aircraft and scenery for MSFS, Fly, X-Plane and OTHER FLIGHT SIMULATORS, but I cannot see a SINGLE review regarding add-ons for FU3.It would be nice to see something like this now and again, if for no other reason than to remind other flight simmers that an active Flight Unlimited 3 community still exists. After all, I think that the likes of Ansgar's Boeing 747-400, or Jon Point's Dash 8 deserved this kind of recognition.Maybe AVSIM Online could take a look at Ansgar's Concorde when it is released next week ? :-lolChris Low.

Hello, sorry if my english is'nt very good, I'm frenchI've downloaded the switzerland region and all the attached packages and install it like it's say in the readme but when I want to change the region via the airport menu (like to change to San Fransiso region)the game stop, I can't move my mouse and I must reset my PC:I've: ge force 4 64mo 512MO Ram 700mhz FU III version 2.0 (patched)full install with complete outer terrain region and a lot of new planes. Hi folks,I bought FU3 second-hand via Amazon-UK a few weeks ago and I installed it last night on my PC running Win-XP. I eventually got it to run ok (after deleting the 'config' file. FU3 created a new one on start-up) My main problem now is that the clouds look very blotchy and flat - more like matt-white paint than the awesome fluffy cloud screenshots Ive seen of FU3 in the past. Ive been searching for this sim for years, but all-in-all, I'm not that impressed with it so far. Those of you who use my Seattle 2004 pack are probably aware that McChord AFB suffers from a serious freezing problem (around TEN seconds on my PC) shortly after take-off or landing. This happens when the taxiway lines and lights are either switched on or off automatically. This is clearly an unacceptable situation, so I have been experimenting with the removal of several nearby packages to improve performance.I have managed to reduce the duration of this annoying "freeze" from TEN seconds to only THREE seconds. This isn't perfect, but it is clearly better ! If you would like to emulate this, then remove the following packages from your FLIGHT3/PACKAGES folder:-PACEMAKER …

Hi Gang: I recently re-installed FU - 2,3. I have recovered most of my Packages including Seattle & San Fran scenery, but seem to have completely lost all of my traffic ? I have installed Jouko's 13B Package, but it does not seem to be working. I use to see the Blimp every time that I went to Paine, the fighter jets at Alameda, and the airliners backed up 3-4 at Sea/Tac and San Fran. And now nothing ? Sea/Tac and San Fran are like a vast wasteland, no traffic. Any tips on what I might do ?Thanks > Jim

Iv just put a new glider panal with all round vews for the stemme in the library.Its a full res file, so you dont hav to mes around with ResViewer to install it.Its loosly based on an ASW28 high performace singal seat glider. I say loosly based, cus after perchesing a digital camara and visiting severalof my local glideing clubs to get snaps of the real thing, I promptly threw themall out and did what ever took my fansy insted.The resalt is much mor fun to fly, and has beter all round visabilaty. Problems with force feedback joystick!Santa brought me a new Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick for Christmas. Has anyone tried these and sorted the problems?Problem 1:Every time I land the stick gives an almighty jolt and loses all forces - ie no return to centre force. This happens even when all jolt settings are set to zero. The only way I have found to recover the return to centre tension is to go "alt O", "controls" and calibrate.Problem 2:Every aircraft wants to roll right. I have to apply a constant force to stay level - not at all realistic! It's not torque effect, it happens with the Beechjet too.Two comments:My old joystick worked fine (Logitech Wing…

I cannot believe how simple the solution was. I just forced the AI to use runway 15 (by ticking the ILS box in OBJECT PROPERTIES when using FLED), and suddenly I started seeing AI airliners landing AND taking-off from Renton Municipal.I am pretty sure that this problem has everything to do with the complex airspace in the region. Renton Municipal is very close to Boeing Field and SeaTac International, and I suspect that the AI environment of these two airports was just too close to allow airliner operations at Renton when using runway 33.This airport has suddenly become a nicer place to visit :-)Chris Low.

I just tried to put a new VOR Beacon into my Region.Opened FLED, placed a VOR Beacon, entered freq. 116.7 and the lat lon.Saved, and..... well a beacon.fld file apeared inside my REGIONSXXX folder, but tuning the radio to 116.7 produces nothing ;(Going to the Select Airport Menu and 'lighting up' the Navaids display reviels no VOR.Can somebody help me out here?Maybe a good Hex editor could help me, because the .fld is not readable in ASCII (I did not think so anyway.):)ChrisD
