From time to time I recur to this message board and sim. I no longer have my FU3 box, but will try to find one at some old software store in Lisbon...Well, what I would like to know is if there is any track of the FU2 and FU3 teams. Where are they now? What do they do - still sim development? What happened to the FU3 Mentor - A guy whose name I no longer recall, but posted several messages here at AVSIM during FU3's development and post release...I will try to find FU3 and make it install and run on my Windows XP system. Really look forward for it, and... I still dream of the day when someone decides to give a new life to FU and go ahead with FU4...

Have been browsing the forum for a while.. Its great that so much activity is still happening with this amazing sim..I have seen some references to the UK-South scenery and coming from the South of England myself, I am very interested to see this. I would greatly appreciate any pointers on how where I could find it.Regards,James Stone

This has taken longer than expected...Finally I have something workable. I didnt pursue the program at the time because I recollect the VOR did not work. Is this now working?

I have just been having a good look at Boeing Field in FU3, and I noticed that there are problems with the AI planes. Several planes appeared to be stuck, and a Concorde had exited runway 31L to the right after landing. The problem with this is that it had stopped with its nose stretching right across runway 31R :-eekThis got me thinking. The FU3 version of Boeing Field is a bit of an AI plane headache, and I am wondering what to do about it. What I would like to see is the AI planes exiting the runway to the right, and then using taxiway Alpha to get to the north end of the airport, before then crossing runway 13R/31L to get to the main terminal. The AI airliners that are…

I don't know whether many of you frequent the screenshots forum (and my past experience tells me that it gets so busy there that whatever you post gets lost in the crowd pretty fast anyhow!) so I thought I'd include a pointer here for the FU3 faithful :) It's a piccy that just got me second place in a screenshot contest! I was happy to see that others agreed FU3 still has what it takes in the looks department :)[a href=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=147&topic_id=120310&mesg_id=120310&page=]You have won second prize in a beauty contest[/a]

Pete,I just bought two hours of class D sim time during the AVSIM Conference next September at the UAL Training Center here in Denver. Most likely on a 737... but possibly on a 747. :)I'm counting on you to coach me so I don't make too big a fool of myself. :-eekI have the PMDG 737... any idea how accurate that cockpit is? Is there any place where a civilian can get cockpit layouts in this post 9-11 world?Any advice that I'm not bright enough to ask for?

Has anyone had any luck in finding high resolution satellite images that could be used in any possible extension of the SanFran scenery region ? It is worth noting that the real world terrain to the east of the current SanFran region is basically flat, which therefore means that high resolution terrain mesh is not an essential requirement. The main airports that I would like to develop are as follows:-SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL (which is just outside the NORTHERN boundary of the region at 38 deg 42 min N, 121 deg 35 min W)STOCKTON METROPOLITAN (directly east of the northern section of the current region at 37 deg 53 min N, 121 deg 15 min W)MODESTO CITY (directly east of the …

There is a model of a control tower in the Seattle model set. It is called "atower", and I would like to see a version of this for the SanFran region. Can one of our expert model builders oblige me ? I prefer this control tower model to the rather bland ones currently available in the SanFran region, and so I would like to use this model at those SanFran airports that I upgraded from Unicom to tower control.Chris Low.

My newest baby is almost ready to fly but I have run into some problems. My current airport has one main runway, fed by three taxiways, positioned roughly 1/6, 1/2 and 5/6 of the way down the runway. That is, they don't convey the aircraft to the takeoff point. I want to simulate behaviour that the plane "holds" on the taxiway, not near the takeoff point, then when told it can roll to takeoff position, it trundles up the runway, turns around in turning bays at the end, positions itself on the piano keys then waits for final takeoff clearance.I tried running the taxiway all the way back to the turning bays (beautifully represented by Andy by the way!) and moving the two gr…

Frank Betts has made some search and rescue "sceneries" for FS. He's placed various aircraft out in the boonies, simulating a crash or an emergency landing. Then he provides the approximate whereabouts without pinpointing exactly where it is. Go locate it!We might easily do the same thing by making a small package that places a model somewhere, for instance in the mountainous areas around Seattle. First person to locate the aircraft/ missing person etc wins a virtual prize. How about it?Hans Petter

I've got the card up and running just fine, but the cockpits have a thin line (usually horizontally) where there is a "break" in the cockpit graphic. Looking closely, one can see the ground going by through this hairline fissure.Anyone experience this and have recommendations?Windows 98SE, ATI 9600XT.Thanks in advance, Dan

Dear All,My apologies for my non-existent deliveries recently. Here's where I'm at:DHC-6 Twin Otter - Due to (more) holdups in the cockpit, I have postponed this until this Friday at the earliest. My problem was the moving throttle and prop levers putting green rectangles in my F3 view! The Renegade's work fine but not for me... There will be 3 liveries to start with; Era, Lehto and D-IVER ;)ASW28 - The 3D model is down to ~1600 polygons (from 22,500) and is starting to look OK. I've had to ditch a lot of the model 'features' as they just used too many polygons. For example, the canopy used >1,000 by itself! I also have a greater appreciation for translating GMAX model…
