  1. These three screenshots illustrate two successive encounters with interesting AI planes during a flight from Sonoma Valley to South County in the SanFran region. The first two show an SR71 Blackbird just before (and just after) a close pass beneath my plane. These planes are quite rare, so seeing one pass so close was something of a surprise. Even more surprising was the Concorde that flew underneath me at a similar distance just a few minutes later. To be honest, the only thing that I was thinking at the time was.....I wish it had been Ansgar's Concorde. It would have looked so much better :-)Chris Low.

Hi ya Jim,You'll see it more often when you load "nasty" storms. I never worked on Beechjets, so don't know if thats accurate jet engine performance modeling for that aircraft. But I was a jet engine mechanic in USAF(fighters)for 20yrs, and even on those high performance engines, they can be stall/stagged when the given engines performance envelope is exceeded.Ummm.. the "fix" while I was in the service was R&R stick actuator. Heh, just poking you there. But it is true, pilot had caused several of the stall/stags. You can literally starve the engine of air, or pack to much air pressure against the engine compressor. End result not very good. Regain an attitude and spe…

Hello, I'm a fan of the FU serie since I had FU1. I have stopped to fly with FU3 for a while and I have used it again. I would like to know what's the news about this fantastic serie? Will be any FU4? And what's new for it that I can download? Thanks and happy landings.

Does anyone know what the FAA code was for Hamilton Air Force Base ? In addition, does anyone know how to change one of these in FU3 ? My current version of Hamilton AFB uses the code "afb", but I would like to change this to the correct code.Chris Low.

I tried flightsim.com but never got on. Maybe i will try early in the morning and see if i have better luck.JakeInHartselSitting in front of my computer at 9,700 ft. msl

I have currently set myself the task of adding pylons throughout the Seattle region. However, I have encountered a problem.FLED crashed at one point during construction work, and now I have a rogue pylon. If I simply try to delete the pylon, FLED crashes. Then, I noticed that the SEATTLE PYLONS folder contained a model file for each of the megatiles where the pylons were located. So, I worked out which megatile my rogue pylon was located in (aeac)...and deleted that particular model file. I checked in FU3, and the model had vanished.Fine....except that when I added those pylons that I had removed, the rogue pylon magically reappeared :-fumeHmmm, maybe the package folder i…

They have a new survey going that can be accessed on the main page. So far 221 people have taken it and only one of those (me) has opted for FU. I will say that I am disappointed that you can't indicate more than 1 sim... I fly FS04 a lot.

Pete,Thanks for sharing the information about the Stationair! :) I don't know if you remember the conversation you & I had about the 206 during one of the FURF chats. I had seen one and even sat in it at an open house at Jeffco Airport. I think you referred to it as the "station wagon".I had a little trouble figuring out how to download it as I don't speak French... but I got it. Good price. ;) (Free is always a good price! :-lol)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/81170.jpgI love those double doors on the right side... the engine detail is nice too. :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/81171.jpgThe 2D panel is nice... not too big to see over... miss having the throttl…

Hi All,Just a note for FU3 developers, Daniel (Unlimited Design) has set up a 'Designer's Forum' for those designers and developers of FU3 resources. This is not intended to detract from Avsim at all! Avsim have willingly provided us with a fantastic service over the years and the intention is for the existing forum (this one) to continue to provide the central 'point of contact' for FU3 users worldwide. Some of us have asked Avsim to provide extra forums to FU3 users over time but it simply cannot be justified with a 'small' group - just look at how busy the other forums are and imagine how much work is involved :-eek * So, please continue to post your news, general questi…

These shots didn't make it last time, so here they are!Skybus DHC6 in high bank whilst perfoming a go-around at Heathrow. ATC controllers at Heathrow certainly have some strange ideas about traffic control! I watched in amazement as ATC gave clearance to AIs to land in the opposite direction to traffic using the runway :-eek. See my previous post on the DHC6 AIs. Of course, every time, they were told to go around but it was as though they were using different directions for landing and taking-off *:-* If that wasn't enough, I caught these 2 committing indecent acts on a taxiway. At least we know the truth now - innocence has been lost :-lolhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/79508.jpgI wonder if the 737 pilots are enjoying the Virgin cabin service?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/79509.jpg:…

I am currently working on the Eye. This is the sort of giant ferris wheel opposite the Westminster Palace. There is still some way to go, bu the current status is that the main frame is complete, and I have made 32 little gondolas to position around it (of course the same gondola 32 times). The model displayed well and fast in ModelView after taking about 5 minutes for BSP to construct, so I expected no problems. But when I installed the incomplete version in FU3 for testing, FU3 froze then CTD'd. I checked the size and found the Eye was over 172kb - which is over the Agtim Limit. Darn bother and start over. I tried two separate parts, and this type BSP refused to work. S…

I've been working on a minor texture update of the "Big Red" Baron. Basically, I've cleaned up a few blotches. I might upload the textures and advise people to use ResViewer to import them. However, it might be time for a version # 2. What we'd really like to see is the cockpit by Steve Hess. Does anyone know if he plans to finish it? He sent me a screenshot of the panel a long time ago and he also postet it on this forum. Hans Petter

  22. I am getting quite annoyed with my Beechjet constantly sliding left and right when I am trying to move along airport taxiways. Why the hell is it doing this ? The problem appeared occasionally when using my old PC, but it is much worse now.Does anyone have any ideas about a possible solution ? I like to be able to stick to the taxiway centreline, but that is sometimes impossible when the b****y plane is practising ice skating at the same time ! :-fumeChris Low.

OK, does anyone know if there is a solution for those blurry ground textures ? You know, the ones that gradually sharpen as you fly over them. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the distance at which they remain sharp and clear. We can increase the range at which 3D objects appear, so is this possible ?Chris Low.

This is the version released through Jon's distribution (I think - as I sent this at a late stage). Anyway, this version of Luton was rebuilt from scratch based on the thread here recently on faster packages. The package has fewer models, far less transparency, less double-sided textures (I redid the tanks) etc.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78533.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78534.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78535.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78536.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78537.jpg
