Hi. I'm looking at doing a small scenery project of my own for another simulator (if I actually do it and get it finished, I'll tell you more). I'm looking at doing one of the small islands like Lundy Island or part of the Isles of Scilly. I thought some of you here might know a bit more, since many of you work on the UK-South scenery for FU3.Where can I purchase UK aerial photos? I checked Getmapping UK but I was only able to find 12.5 cm. and 25 cm/pixel photos. That's too expensive, not to mention way too detailed for current videocards and harddrives. I need a resolution of 2-10 meters/pixel (depending on pricing), true colour. Is the pricing different depending on if…

Does anyone want to help get Concorde flying again ? If so, then sign the petition at www.save-concorde.co.uk.I know that some of you may believe that this is a waste of time, but then nothing EVER gets done if we do not try. This campaign has the backing of several Concorde pilots, ex-Concorde engineers, and the British Airline Pilots Association, so it is NOT some small time attempt to cause trouble.Come on guys, what harm can it do ?Chris Low.

This place has been far too quiet over the past few weeks. I know that some of you are busy preparing the next update of the UK-South scenery region, but I miss everyone :-( Have you finished messing around in the garden yet, Ansgar ? }( Chris Low.

Does there exist a scenery design tutorial for new regions? I've done some custom work with FS2002 and like to apply that scenery to FU3. I've downloaded a couple utilities which describe outer terrain enahncements but I'm not sure if these apply to areas beyond the outer terrain. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.Rick

I finally decided that three of the largest airports in the Seattle region could do with some runway overrun lighting. The three screenshots below show the completed updates to McChord AFB (both runway ends) and Paine Field (runway 16R). I will also be adding this lighting at SeaTac International.....when I have had a rest ;-)Chris Low.

With the possibility of a single scenery megapack for the Seattle region being developed in the near future, the entire FU3 file library will need to be "cleaned up". I have decided to start this process by removing my Seattle 2004 pack, and also the three Seattle geotiles.tag zip files. As I have stated in another thread, a list of all existing airfield and scenery packages will need to be created, and then the entire FU3 community can decide which of these are to be included in the final megapack. When this process has been completed, it would be a good idea to remove all of the separate packages from the file library (unless anyone here thinks that some or all of them …

Hi All,I have two copies of FU2 (the SoldOut release) available on eBay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...gory=41066&rd=1http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...gory=41066&rd=1A little more than a day is left on the auction. There seems to be little interest so far; but the copy of FU3 I listed has been bid up to US$53 :)<<<<>>>>On another note, I have making Hi-Res photographic scenAry of the entire North American continent that will work in both FU3 _and_ FS9.It will fit on one CD due to the special process I have developed for compressing scenAry. I will post screenshots of the scenAry in the next few days, weeks, month…

If you could only keep one high resolution scenery region in FU3, which one would it be....and why ?I would keep the San Francisco scenery, because I personally feel that it looks better, the terrain has more variety (the Seattle scenery is basically a valley between two mountain ranges), there are more airports capable of handling the jets, the medium length runways (2500 to 5000 feet) are wider, the Pacific coast provides a natural scenery boundary, I have made far more scenery packages for this region, and I just have a soft spot for the Bay area.Chris Low.

Hi Fellas,I can't remember anymore about this. I did a new install of Flt3 with Flt2 today(actually I copied all 5 cd's to my hd first, install seemed to go much quicker). Will there be problems flying in either hi-res region if I generate the mega tiles? My feeble brain has 2 memories of this 1)I had at one time had an install of flt3,2 plus outter terrain and everything was fine, I was even able to flt plan from between either hi-res and OT.2) It wasn't o.k., I would cdt if I tried to fly out of SF hi-res + outer terrain packages icons would show up off the coast of Cal.Currently I also have Flt2 installed stand alone(my previous post). You all take care,JimB.

Thought I'd do a quick check post.I am still alive and still working on Filton Airport for you guys...I am detirmined it will be good enough for any Concordes that might be going by.I am pleased with it so far but have come to some awkward bits! Also as it is a hobby (an not an obsession) I have limited time...but will try and get finish soon with another big push.May be back asking for models (eg a static concorde) which would compliment Filton with the authors permission...Anyway hi to you all...am still listening in!!!!Robs.Any UK norths being talked about???

Chris, you did a very nice job with the FU3 article in PC Pilot. Some of the screens had me going, "Wow!" And I've already seen just about all of it on my machine :)There must be some interest out there still for FU. I just sold a copy of FU3 on Ebay for US$60 ! However, there seemed to be little interest in the copies FU2 I had up for auction, since _nobody_ wanted them.Happy New Year,

Haven't posted here for a while. I have been playing with colours again, and am getting some very pretty sunset transitions from white horizons, gold (OK, yellow) to red. That's been done before, but now I'm getting the clouds to follow the changes and its been quite interesting. The shots here are a bit exaggerated - I use calmer settings when I'm flying long time since the reds are a bit too rich, but that's so that you can see the effects clearly. Penalty is still that at noon high clouds still pick up a bit of the haze scatter colouring and look a bit yellow compared with the lower white clouds. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53982.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_…

I just bought Micro Flight (http://www.hangsim.com/mf) a couple of days ago (christmas present to myself ;) ). I actually had an early version of Hang Sim (which came before Micro Flight) and played it a lot several years ago. I think it was even before FU3.I'm having a lot of fun trying different simulators. I have installed right now, FU3, FS2004, X-Plane, Micro Flight, Pro Pilot, Fly! and if I ever find Fly2 I'll buy it. Most simmers just install whatever version is the latest of the good old MS Flightsim and spend the rest of their money on expensive addons for it. I think they miss out on a lot of other fun sims. Not that FS2004 is a bad sim, it's the best MSFS versi…

We just don't measure up. We can say we do, we can think we do, but until we reach this level, well...I'm starting to save my pennies today!Of course, $50,000 is a lot of pennies...I'm sure the wife will understand, right?Won't she? :)Check this site out; be sure to take a look at some of the links, too. Truly impressive. Or is the word "obsessive?"Danhttp://www.737simguy.com

For those of you who have expressed some concern about the reappearance of Bluejay... and those other names that appear to be him... not to worry I'm keeping an eye on him. If he gives me a reason all of those posts will be gone.I get the feeling that many of you may be holding back on posting wondering what will happen. Don't worry... nothing will happen. He will get tired and go away like he always has. :)

Hi, this is just to wish merry Xmas and happy new year to all FU3 fans around the World, and hope our small community doesn't fade away definitely in 2004.(Come on, friends... how are those new a/c coming along?)In the meanwhile, look at this curious picture from a recent local airshow: believe it or not, this Cessna was peacefully parked on the grass, when it was pushed to that position by the turbulence created by a Chinook helicopter landing nearby:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/54202.jpgBest wishes,
