Hello dear FU3 family, now I can present you the first shots of the last big development step around our HQ AI-models.As the beta testers of my AI-upgrade pack V0.07 know the old B757 AI-series in their beta-version is still looking crazy and I want to replace it with the Airbus A320 family. The 3d-model I implemented as untextured version in some B757 places of the last AI-ipgrade V0.07beta. In the meantime I completed it

Dear All,Here's some previews of some things to come! On Chris' suggestion, I dug out some old models and spruced them up, whilst adding a few to boot! These will all end up in a new set of packages for Sanfran and will also be uploaded to the Avsim library. My apologies for not releasing them earlier but they were mostly unfinished or buggy. Chris' input made me get off my butt and finish them off. It's alright, though 95% complete, the S340 has driven me nuts *:-*Firstly, water anyone? These are just 2 - there are 4 tanks in totalhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/109040.jpgAM radio towers are usually of interest to low-flying GA pilots!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/…

A lot of people have sent me stuff to try out over the past few weeks. Its been hard to find time to look at them all, since I only get a short time at the computer each evening and I don't keep Seattle/SanFran loaded anymore, but I really appreciate that people have kept me included in the loop. Last night I got two hours, so did a bit of Biggin Hill, then tried to cacth up. Here's a brief summary of some of the goodies people have showed me recently.Jon, thanks for the aerial (pun) package - the TV masts, radio stations etc. Now I won't have to smuggle them in. The one labelled Carquinez seems to be on the wrong frequency - I couldn't hear anything on it except car nois…

Still very much a work in progress, just a few new scenery models and a basic airport structure. New technique of higher resolution in key areas has worked well but is very time consuming as each point has to be defined rather than four corner points, so it will look a bit more like an MSFS airport with sharp corners in taxiways, but the improvement in resolution is worth it - sharp taxiway lines, realistic tarmac, grass etc. The main new model is the terminal (of course), which seems to be the oddest combination of old brick with added prefab at front. And of course, I've put a few spitfires/hurricanes around (thanks agtim).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/109109.jpght…

Are you people aware of Terraexplorer? Here you can explore Seattle or SanFran or may other regions without even staring your FU3.The air photography resolution is very comparable with FU3, at least I got that impression from the letters below (from the terraphoto applet)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/109069.jpgOf course they are not allowed to be used as terrain input for FU3. I wouldn't know how anyway.Make sure you have enough bandwidth and videocard memory available otherwise the applet will block you computer. My Seattle 2005 pack has been uploaded to the FU3 file library here at AVSIM Online. It should be available for download in the next couple of days. Please read the instructions carefully when installing the pack. My recommendation would be to add the pack to a clean install of FU3, make sure that everything is working correctly, and then add other favourite packages one at a time. This should enable you to isolate compatibility problems before any major disasters occur !If you have any problems, then please feel free to contact me at the e-mail address listed below:-Christopher dot Low at btinternet dot comChris Low.

Actually it is called VFR Photographic Scenery USA: San Francisco & Sacramento and it is from Horizon Simulations. Anyway the competition... flightsim.com... has a bit about it on their main page. Within the article you will find links to both a high quality & medium quality .wmv type videos that can be downloaded to have a look at this stuff. Each version has both US & UK links so it need not be dragged across the Atlantic Ocean. I have the HQ video... it runs 4 minutes 20 seconds and is pretty good. I have run it full screen on my 19" monitor and it is a bit grainy but not bad at all. This is of course for FS04 but many of us do use that sim. I would like to …

Dear friends,I am using a Sidewinder Precision Pro. The outboard Sidewinder software that allowed various button assignment profiles is not supported by Windows XP. I used to have a profile just for FU-3. I just upgraded to XP from Windows 98. FU-3 runs great. However I still want to run my joy stick buttons the same way.One time Hans Petter tried to explain this to me, but I still could not get it right. I tried using the ReadMe, but it makes no sense to me. Can someone help me step by step?I created a joykeys.cfg in which are the following entries:joykey_repeat_interval 0.1joykey_repeat_delay 0.25joy_1 toggle_parking_brakesjoy_3 Elevator_Trim_Down_rep joy_4 Elevato…

I've been experimenting a bit with clouds - I noticed that some of my latest pics have a red tinge (no not the Juvanta 2000 glasses!) and realised that I've slipped back to using an older version of my flt3.cfg file when I installed the UK expansion. So here are some better pics.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106872.jpgSome nice cloud banks.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106875.jpgFlying over woods, distant clouds a little orange but better.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106877.jpgDistant clouds still gold from setting sun.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106878.jpgPretty effect as runway lights blink on downwind.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106876.jpg…

I am not sure if I can get better than this, but I changed over from an Nvidea 128mb 5200fx card to an ATI Radeon 9600Pro 256mb card recently and I am not too happy with the results. I first tried using Omega drivers because I had heard it made the fps faster. Result was pixelated and very yellow shots plus unstable using SanFran2005 and Seattle2005. I switched to the ATI Catalyst drivers and although the yellowish tinge went I was left with this multicoloured pixel effect in the distance. I have posted 3 UK shots in the screenshots section of the Nvidea, Omega, and Catalyst screens and would appreciate it if anyone else could comment on the visual quality, especially if …

I have a bunch of questions, and think they are best handled by breaking them down into individual threads. A few months back, Rob advised I should do just that with regard to scenery matters, and I'll turn to that next. First, though, I'd like to address the topic of setting controller (joystick) sensitivity and null (dead) zones for General Aviation aircraft in FU3. I'm pretty tired of the results of not knowing how to set these things, and I've read far and wide on the topic without a net increase in wisdom. Only helicopter sims have a published consensus about these settings: sensitivity all axes 100%, null zone all axes 0%.I think conventional wisdom may be that ther…
