Forgive me for asking a question that has probably been asked before, but I recall using a program once in FS98 or FS2002 that let the user use downloaded local ATC background chatter. I also think Australian ATC chatter files came with an add on for that program. I was wondering if it is possible to get English ATC background chatter going instead of the US ATC in FU3UKS. I know that as ATC it simply would not function at all, but I was just interested in the background chatter aspect. The standard FU3 ATC is useless in FU3UKS anyway. I am not sure of the audio file setup in FU3.

Thought that might get your attention...I have uploaded the corrected version of my models package to Avsim. Look for 'jmod05a.zip'.The errors were basically one file left out (Sanfran) and some old stuff that I'd included by mistake - sorry ;)Besides, I decided to actually count them all this time - 441 across both regions :-roll

Dear All,I just uploaded all those models you've been hearing about. In the upload I mention 190+ models, but its actually more like 295, including some re-releases and miscellaneous inclusions ;)There's too much to list here but read the textfile attached for more info!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131554.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131555.jpgHappy FLEDding :-wave

Hello.I have been away from this forum for some time, both for heavy loads of work in real life and other important events. After one week in Berlin, i came across this "ATC recording" from Oslo airport Gardermoen "ENGM" after my return to Norway.Rather special and entertaining afternoon for all pilots who have to deale with controllers like this.Almost as the controller of FU3,- hehe. The link you can find here:http://home.online.no/~luloren/Isaksen.zipTake care.Lars Peter.:-wave

I thought I would reload Switzerland and play with it yesterday. I copied my FUIII/FUII to C: from C:Program Files, moved the Seattle folder from Regions elsewhere and put Switzerland into Regions making sure that the region cfg file in Switzerland read reg_cd_path C:Flight3CDROMSwitzerlandMAPS as it should and that the CDROM folder had the Switzerland map folder in there. The program fired up with a Sanfran airport as the default as that was the last one I flew from, and i successfully changed regions, selected an airport in the Switzerland regions and hit fly. AI loaded in and then instead of going from there into the program I got the Flight Unlimited has encountered a…

I am going on holidays in a few weeks and will visit some friends in Florida. I was thinking of going down the PC upgrade path seeing as SanFran 2006 is going to be out soon and there was a message from AGTim about a new 14.5gb UK scenery coming out too. Frame rates have never been plentiful with my celeron 2.8 system and I was wondering what cpu would be best. I was thinking about getting hold of an Athlon 64 FX57 cpu and bring it back to Oz. Anyone got a state of the art machine they are happy with in FUIII and some advice please?

Have any of you guys tried www.FlightSimBooks.com? I saw it mentioned in PC Pilot and gave it a go.There are 12 complete books posted there, all with permission from their respective publishers. All of the books have been out of print for some time. Probably to do with the fact that most refer to simulators that I'm obviously far too young to remember:-lol However, they are crammed with lots of useful information all the same.(Useful to an idiot like myself anyway*:-* ) And they could even bring a tear of nostalgia to the eye of those more aged amongst us;) Try it, and see what you think.Mark:)

Folks,I am starting to upload my (ridiculous range of) models that I've sat on for too long, starting with yachts! I have uploaded 18 yachts, in both regions and they should be available shortly in the library.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130734.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130735.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130737.jpgHappy sailing!:-wave

I've been wondering whether or not it would be possible to trick the training program within FU3 to use aircraft other than the default models. I assume (Probably wrongly) that some where within a 'Res' file there is a line which tells the program what it is. If this is the case, then presumably I could get my favourite C-172 to masquerade as the default trainer, by simply renaming it 'Trainer'using 'ResViewer'. Or am I deluding myself in thinking this would be a simple task?Mark:)

Does anyone know how to define airspace in FU3 ? Are there any documents available that provide instructions regarding this ? The reason that I ask is because I would like to split Oakland International airport into two separate components. In fact, I have already done this. I now have an international airport (runway 11/29), and a national airport (the GA section of the airport to the north). I have deleted the connecting taxiway, and modified part of the international airport to minimise the chances of AI airliners getting stuck in that bottleneck of a taxiway called BRAVO !The two airports appear to be operating independently, but Hans has identified a small problem. N…

Here are three screenshots illustrating the fact that I have separated Oakland airport into two components.1. The new Oakland National airport (the original GA section), as seen in FLED. Note that there is no taxiway extending south of the runway 27L threshold.2. Oakland International airport, as seen in FLED. You will notice that I have deleted some of the northern section of this part of the airport, modified the parking area to the west, and added two or three new AI parking spots at the main terminal. There are still the same number of airliner parking spots as before, but the redesign has improved "taxiway flow" (reducing the number of potential "face offs" between t…

It's a bit quiet around here. Where is everyone?I have just uploaded RMB (used to be RAF) Chivenor for the UK region to the library. It's my first shot at FU3 developement and any advice from anyone on how to improve it will be gratefully received.I haven't even thought about building aircraft yet, It looks horribly complicated! But it would be great if Vigilants and Seakings could be added to give some authenticity to it. Any volunteers? I can supply pictures, specs, dimensions etc. for the Vigilant - and it is a lovely plane to fly. Ches

Last night at some unearthly hour when I had nothing better to do, I started sifting through old posts on this forum.I couldn't help noticing that some addons that were mentioned no longer seem to be available for download. The one that particularly interested me was Sanfran 2004.I know that as we speak people are beavering away at the latest incarnation of this package. And I'm sure it will take our breath away (and cause our processors to over heat;))when it hits the file library. I was just wondering what happened to the 2004 version ?Mark:)

Hi everyone,I've just done a clean install of FU3 with the San Francisco scenery. All is well until I remove FU2 disc1 ready to insert FU2 disc2. At this point I get a blue screen telling me that there is a problem reading the disc. If I then press escape, away I go again, until after inserting FU3 install disc. The setup gets as far as telling me that it's serching for 'Direct Play' components, and thats it. It locks up solid and the only way to escape is to control/alt/delete and close down explorer. Also at another point in the process (I can't remember where.) It tells me there is a duplicate instance of the installer and would I like to switch to the original?.These pr…

Dear All,After Glidernut recently revealed his wind pump model, I've done some testing with 'free' axles in FU3. My findings are below. Don't hold your breath, they're somewhat limited but at least I can make my flags wave now!Axle 0 (@x00...) rotates +/- 180 degrees. May be limited by using standard axle limit settings (i.e. @x00bo5050 limits to 180 degrees total)Axle 1 (@x01...) rotates +/- 90 degrees. May be limited by using standard axle limit settings (i.e. @x01bo2525 limits to 90 degrees total)Axle 2 (@x02...) rotates +/- ~5 degrees. Standard axle limit settings appear to have little effect, especially considering the already small rotation. This one would be good f…

Iv just put another glider in the librery. This one has a lot mor deatail on it, and its my best yet.allthowe the F4 vew is not compleat, it went mad with the weel textuer, you take a look and see what I mean.Iv still not figered out how to do mor than one textuer yet. But Iv got ways around the problem by doing all the markings on the outside of the glider as seperat models with UV coulers, inclooding the pilot. I wanted to get this glider out of the way so I can consentrate on Fled models.Iv had sum sucses in giving a Fled model a mooving part, by giving it an axil. The blabes on my wind-pump model go round.God knows when Iill start on the package proper, I keep geting d…

Jon and I have almost completed the SanFran 2005 pack, but I would like some responses to the following question:-Users of my previous SanFran packs will know that there are two large scenery packages included near San Francisco itself (GOLDEN GATE PARK and PRESIDIO). The presence of these two packages causes problems for those users who do not have powerful PCs (the simulator freezes for several seconds when taking off or landing at Alameda NAS).I had decided to remove these two packages from SanFran 2005, thereby eliminating the problem. However, I would like to know what you all think. Should I bin them (they aren't essential items in my opinion), or should I keep them…

Jon Point has kindly provided me with all of the models that I required to complete the SanFran 2005 pack. I was intending to send a couple of beta copies out this week, and then get it uploaded to the FU3 file library by the end of next weekend. However, this has been delayed by my decision to add a total of twenty-three substation packages to SanFran 2005.I had actually decided not to bother building these packages some time ago, but I have changed my mind after messing around with a test package last weekend. Of course, I am not a substation expert, so they are not likely to be rigorously accurate with respect to the location of individual substation components. Nevert…
