Hello everyone,Popping my head out of the sand (again) and seeking some help.Firstly, I have been messing with bits and pieces and well, to but it bluntly have messed up. It all started when working on Liverpool and it just got worse from there. I admit I got a little frustrated and may have moved some files into different folders and got myself in a complete mess by mixing work in progress and actual files.Secondly, I have not had the time recently to keep up to date with whats been happening, new scenery, planes etcI would be grateful if anyone has a fairly up to date working copy of UKS that they could copy and send me (I'm in the UK). I will of course pay any expenses…

Inspired by Jon's Staggerwing, I thought I might have a browse through my book of "less-than-usual" aircraft (not that the Staggerwing fits that category) and came across this beauty. Not exactly GA but then...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/157096.jpgQuote..."Built by Dornier Germany and named the DO X, it never went into commercial service, but was the biggest aircraft in existence in 1929. An enormous flying boat with a wing span of 48 metres, and a max loaded weight of 56,000 kg.It had a very thick untapered wing, deep hull, massive sponsons and a row of twelve engines mounted above the wing in tandem pairs... each a 600hp Curtiss Conqueror water-cooled unit. The D…

Well,I thought I had nearly finally got back up to the latest and then this happened. I flew from Biggin and couldnt get my Beechjet out of Glidernuts hanger. I did a bit of a reverse thrust and took a run up, got out of the hanger but lost may tail in the process. Never one to give up, I decided to have another go. Went back to the main menu, hit "Fly" and ended up somewhere else. Looks familiar, why its a different Biggin. See attached Biggin 1 and Biggin 2. I am guessing I have 2 Biggins somehow but cant seem to find them. Also while I was there this military plane got run off the taxiway by a civil aircraft. He didnt like it. So much so he turned round and chased after…

The Fretherne scenery set is a highly detailed localised scenery, I guess in some ways its the spiritual successor to ForestFalls, a small beautiful area done in detail, where I can experiment a bit. But whereas ForestFalls was not a great success (too experimental, trying to push FU3 beyond what it could do), this I think is better. Modelling skills have improved, I know the limits a little better, and we now have a great range of models (last time I checked, my models database, zipped, was 93 Mb). It was difficult to find good photos for the region, but the large building around the canal area is the actual building there. The rest is built up from generic shots of vill…

I am still trying to work out a way to upload this, but for the moment, here's some updates on Birmingham.I have made about 15 of the main buildings. The date is frozen at 2000 (the date of the ground scenery itself) so you won't see the bullbar on the bullring. The boats may take some explaining - there are waterways and canal systems through Birmingham, which run right up to the hotels shown here (not that I'm an expert on Birmingham - this is from looking at pictures). I haven't done complete nightlighting, there is some but many buildings are still dark at night. Also I have imported buildings from other areas, for example there is a Telecom BT tower, but rather than …

Hi folks,Sure is quiet out there on this forum at the moment. Maybe everyone has gone out to try and get a copy of $$FX? :-roll On a more serious note, can anyone give me some pointers on where to get info on building 3D models for the FU world? Are there any tutorials? I can't find anything on building a new model from scratch. Thanks in advance...Roger Over

Jon -Great to see you're among the living. Glad I can stop searching Obits. Sorry you're life has become so complex, but glad to see you're choosing to cut it down to the essentials. Also sorry you're back to effyou three instead of fu3. It will become available again, I hope. MSFS is just fine to use as an alternative, as it merely expands your horizons, while providing a point of comparison. Go for it all.Glide slope: Knowing the story will be far more enjoyable than the experience.-Seadog

Hi folks,Having discovered the joys of the AVSIM library and sites such as Frank's Hangar; I'm having a whale of a time downloading all sorts of add-ons for FU 3 [ and FU 2 for that matter ].I'm conscious of the fact that there is a limit for additional airport icons, can anybody tell me what it is - or will I only find out when it crashes ?Regards to all......... 17. Hi,Is there a way to inhibit flameout when using the Beechjet model ?I have tried from -1.0 to 9.9e+34 without any visible results !?for all values as soon you dive your jet engine stops :-(may be correct for a Beechjet, but for a Hawker Hunter or FA-18 it must be possible to dive without flameout.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/153807.jpgthanks for info :-) :-wave agtim

  20. Hi allA "problem" for the technical people. Can you set up FU3 with multiple screens? We have been working on building a flight sim for the local Air Cadet squadron quite a bit just lately, and it is coming along nicely. The computer is assembled and running with two projectors and a screen for the instruments, the frame for mounting the cockpit (chopped from an old chipmunk) is made and the cockpit is sitting on it, but not yet fixed. Lots to do, but the light is showing at the end of the tunnel. So far we have only loaded FS2004. We can have the main ahead view PLUS the left and right quarter views up at once to give a very wide screen view. In theory we could have the 90d…

Hi all.I've become tired of trying to get FS9 to run smoothly (was I naive to expect smoothness) on my system:AMD 64 3200+512MB RAMGeForce 6200TC PCI-E40GB HDDOn board AC97 sound19" LCD monitorSo I thought I would try FU3 as I believe it's on budget re-release now.I was flying it about 5 or 6 years ago (along with FS2K), but my system the was a bit slow (I eventually gave all my sims to a charity shop). My main concern is my monitor which is optimized for 1280x1024 resolution. I remember reading something in the Fly! forums about panels not displaying properly due to the 'odd' screen ratio.Would FU3 have this problem?Matt

Hello Folks - first time poster here.I have now managed to add FU 2 scenery to FU 3 after a few abortive attempts. As others have reported on here, there seems to be a problem with the PC recognising the discs in the correct order at the install stage.I have also found that ignoring the messages re incorrect order of installation has no effect on the eventual successful install.I really appreciate the extra options that installing FU2 scenery brings to FU3, but also enjoy FU2 as a sim in its own right, particularly the 'Challenges'- which have been put together with a certain quirky humour.Anybody else fly FU2 in its own right ?My system is Windows XP , and despite advice t…

Fixed ,Constant Speed ,Variable Pitch. For Educational purpose and Aircraft Knowledge;I did some research and found this info .********************************************************************** Like a wing, a propeller blade has a thick leading edge and a thin trailing edge. The blade back is the curved portion and is like the top of a wing. The blade face is comparatively flat and corresponds to the underside of a wing. The blade shank is thick for strength and fits into a hub which is attached to the crankshaft directly or indirectly. The outer end of the blade is called the tip. Blade pitch is loosely defined as the angle made by the chord of the blade and its…
