When that pack was released, I was happy that I could finally take to the virtual skies again in my trusty Beechjet.I completed a few enjoyable flights, and was delighted with all of that impressive new scenery ;-) However, I then started thinking about expanding the pylon/substation network. Guys,I had a call last night from a local friend of Bob's advising me that he is in the hospital. The guy who called is the one that provided those AT6 pictures some time back.I was able to reach him in his room and he seemed in good spirits. I'm not sure what all is wrong with him but he did tell me that the food there is too good and he is getting spoiled.I'm not sure how long before he is back with us but I will keep you all informed.I just returned from a emergency of my own. My wife's brother passed away with just 2 hours remaining in 2005 and I had to make a rushed trip to Idaho.

Can anyone giv me a link to a paint program that is good at distorting imiges?Preferably a simpl easy to use free one.Im using "Paint Shop Pro 7" which is a very good program and has lots of speshial efects, but non of them alow me to distort an imige in the way I want.Im also useing that free "I.Mage" paint program, which is perfect for paintingindividual pixals, but dus not distort in the way I want.Im curantly working on a Vigilant motorglider, and Im having a lot of dificalty creating and distorting the imiges to fit the model.At the moment Im having to moov the UV vertex points around, which is only a partial serlootion, and I end up having to change the shape of the…

The Jan/Feb issue of PC Pilot has a four page spread describing FU III "from a Microsoft simmer's viewpoint." Without trying to summarize it entirely, the article notes the program was light years ahead of the competition and holds up well even today. Purchase information for the re-release is given and recommended. Unfortunately, the author was not familiar with the improvements available in the Avsim Library. Taken as a whole, though, the article was quite favorable.Perhaps Chris could put in a letter to the editor, mentioning the improvements available at Avsim.-Seadog

Hi, I know as you get older you are supposed to get smarter, but ....... I have installed FUIII/FUII on my new machine but find that when I try to select another airport in the Seattle Region I get a low resolution map image on my screen and a program freeze. I can move about using challenges though, it is only when I try to get a map up to select a new airport I crash the program. I should remember this problem and the solution from earlier experiences but dont. So if any kind soul out there would take pity on me please.......

It has just come to my attention that the uploaded version of SanFran 2006 does not include the new runway models at Byron Municipal airport ! I only realised this because I recently had to reformat the hard disk, and therefore reinstall FU3. I've churned out a couple new buildings and figured that I'd try to make the windows light up at night. I created a darker MIP, painted the windows in light colors and ran it through FixMip with the night setting checked. The I put the MIP in the GEN subfolder "Litemaps". It didn't work. I also tried making the night GIF into black and white before processing it, to no avail.I know this: The night light has its own special palette (one text mentioned "litepale.pal"). The palette has 32 colors only and all are various hues of yellow. Yesterday I uploaded a version 2 of the Big Red. I cleaned up exterior textures as well as inside views a long time ago and created a new palette for the textures. Then I revised the panel by putting the Big Red dashboard on top of the one we had. We were really hoping for Steve's custom panel but this compromise will have to do. I thought that you all might like to know that there is a Flight Unlimited 3 article in the latest issue of PC Pilot magazine (Issue 38...Jan/Feb 2006). This has been written from a "Microsoft Simmer's Viewpoint", and is an unbiased opinion of FU3 from someone who is more used to the way in which MSFS does things.It is worth pointing out that I have responded to this by sending an e-mail to Derek Davis (the new editor of the magazine; Mark Embleton left last year) with respect to the tireless nature of the FU3 freeware world. I have been using Google Earth to find my old house where I lived till the age of 13 before my parents migrated to Australia. I also found it in FUIII. Could not locate anything similar in FS2004, but if anyone has that plus UK VFR I would be interested to see some comparison screenies.

Hi Fella's,Back from Ms for Christmas and New Year holiday. :)I upgraded my 98se to XpPro. My v5-5500pci ran fine after installing the amigamerlin driver for Xp. Feeling good, I re-installed the Bfg6200oc-256, and Flt3 run's and looks excellent. I was supprised to find Flt-1(win95 version) ran well also. I still see purple bubbles floating in the air. You all know what that is? Is that a "thermal indicator" or something? I had thought it was a glitch with my voodoo card; now I wonder if it's normal in the Flt1 flying environment.Flt3 frame rate out over Ranger Creek ranges, 12ish; in Sea 8 to 12ish. Flew the Arrow.
