Just got this in an email, thought you may be interested. It's not every day that someone offers you the chance of flying an S10-VT!!(Edited)"From the 9th - 10th of September we are in Lasham (GB). There you can have a look at our STEMME S10-VT and/or make a testfligtht with this amazing aircraft...."I'm not saying this as a promotion for Stemme, just an opportunity for some of you to get up close 'n' personal with an S10. I have all of the contact info but to avoid trolling & spam, message me here and I'll forward it to you.And yes, this means that I fixed my message problem :-waveRegards,Jon Point

Well,My Flight2 stand alone install wacked out on me again. You guys know of a better way to correct this than a full re-install? I've had to re-install because of this in the past. Map file sizes match those on the cd's.Any ideas? Thanks,JimB

Here's a "gears-up" F16c model in .3ds. Converted from Janes USAF. Not textured and looks like some of the surfaces didn't convert well. JimBhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177238.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/177239.jpg

I don't fly too often these days with any simulator. Mostly, whenever I read this forum I just can't help myself - I have to load something to fly! :-roll Generally FU, but quite often I activate FSX as its ATC is not that strict and one can take off at any airport for just trying out a few things, as you will detect from the landing. The FU ATC guys/girls are sometimes too strict to allow one just to fool around a bit. However here's the trip, I know some glider lovers will like the scenery effects.Allright, if one can afford a glider, one presumably can afford a Pajero as well :-) Right then, on the road from the guest house to the airport.http://forums.avsim.net/user_f…

Reading the other day the message with the image posted about the glider made me decide to show some, hopefully interesting, stuff from the FSX glider. There is currently no motorised glider so one has to go with the tug aircraft. I also don't want to show things that might be too much of a comparison between the simulators, but I had in mind to show some different things in general. I also might add that the thermals and other glider effects, such as ridge and (air)wave soaring are very easily set and most enjoyable. Before I knew it 2 hours went past during image capturing before I even noticed my watch! :-) Regards to all, Pieter. The first image was taken on the runway…

Hi All,I'm experiencing a little problem here that I'm hoping some kind soul might help me with.Suddenly, I've lost all the clarity in my scenery (Oz, Seattle and Sanfran) It's almost like the hi res scenery tiles are being ignored. :-hmmm I thought it was somehow related to ansitropic settings, so have tried 1023 changes to my video setup (Radeon 9250) with no difference. I have tried a zillion versions of flt3.cfg, and fiddled with the settings on the control panel.. still no good.I have reinstalled FUIII from scratch.Any thoughts? I can't think of any changes that I have deliberately made that would cause this.Cheers :-wave Bruce Hhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175…

Hmm still trying to get Fled to work again.I have had a pretty torrid time...fled screwed my system up so a windows reinstall and dirextx update and a sticky reinstall of outlook express (I now have email again)...I am back to Fled.I reinstalled FU3 but to no avail. I have 3 instances of FU3 on my machine and they all react similarly....My problem is currently I launch fled, get the start up screen, it asks which region and then the soar window appears...no top down view window. The keyboard shortcuts all work ...ect alt O brings up object properties...It's almost as thought the top down view is minimized or hidden off screen.....I have tried launching in maximised window…

My FU-3 Friends...I FINALLLLLLLLY got my new computer going and enjoying FU-3 immensely again. I built it to run FSX... but my never ending passion with FU-3 has been rewarded greatly. I am seeing frame rates in 50's with Chris' San Fran Pack... that's downtown... didn't check beside the bridge. With my old AMD 1800+ chip it would only run in the low teens, if that good, with all of Chris' great models in around San Fran. Obviously, you don't need this power for FU-3... but for FSX it is mandatory for a decent experience. Also, Agtim, if you are reading... my favorite experience of all is your work... and it is simply amazing on a widescreen monitor with these frame r…

Dear All,A couple of previews ;-)F2http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176393.jpgF3http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176394.jpgThe extra view isn't finished yet :-rollLike most motorgliders, the S6 climbs really well in updrafts with the engine running. Check at the ascent rate vs. IAS. 2442ft/min is about 24kts - vertical... That means that at 76kias we're climbing at about 1 in 3.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/176395.jpg:-wave Regards,Jon Point

just rediscovered FU11 the other day and it still looks great round san francisco. I seem to be out of touch now but believe UK scenery has been released by enthusiasts. How does one buy this please?I think I stil have the original boxed versions of FU over France. Is it collectors' item?Best wishes from Wales

Beat ya!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175918.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175919.jpgIt's pretty rough, but it stays up there. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175920.jpgGotta be a record! I extracted the S10 file on the 22nd and flew the S6 at about 12:20 this morning ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175921.jpgLet me know when you want to get the RV6 happening :-waveRegards,Jon Point

After a total mainboard/processor crash a new machine was a must and not it's installed and ready, still winXP with ASUS/NVIDIA 8600GT video card and VISTA ready (later). Now the frame rate is nice at Elstree (reduced version).you can see it in the video (upper left corner, ASUS counter, not +F)There will be a video of a FU3 flight from/to runway 26 at Elstree.ASUS with OSD GameReplay make it possible and more will follow. If you don't have UK Region you still can take a look at YouTube.I choose this way to avoid overloading AVSIM with videos ;-)Here is the link, other will follow soon and the Elstree package alsoA first turn at Elstree Aerodrome :-wave agtim

Good morning all,I've only been a 'lurker' on the site in recent months - due to a cookie problem preventing me from posting. Even with my limited IT skills, I've now managed to fix this. I very much enjoy the challenges in both FU2 and FU3, although there is sometimes a little too much time taken in actually flying to the action!Anyway, I have managed to score 264 in the FU3 P51 'hoops' challenge, but despite several attempts have not cracked the 'stranded hikers' challenge. I can land at the ski lodge ok, but taking off again is another matter !To those of you who use FU2 as a stand alone sim - have you managed to finish the 'Rolling stones' challenge ? I put the plane…

So,I installed again FU, FU2 and FU3.I bought my copies back in the 90ties but never did much with them but casual flying. But my interest in flightsimming increased a lot recently and I intend to start up all FU more regulary to take them to best use.I read about all the nice add-ons. Would love to see some screens also from the UK scenery.Last but not least: what happened to the cloud project? Is it impossible to improve them? Thanks for the heads up.

Like me, Andre (agtim) Meystre recently went to UK. Unlike me, he made it the cultural, social and educational heartland of that great country (I am referring, of course, to Biggin Hill), and very kindly sent me some of his holiday snaps and permission to put same up here. So here are some quick comparisons between the FU3 world and his shots, from a models point of view. But since agtim also went to London City Airport, here are some comparisons from there:Greater London Authority building:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170051.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/170052.jpgOK, I haven't included the new office blocks just behind GLA. Yet.Here's LCA:http://forums.avsi…

Today using a beta version installed on a spare partition and using weak hardware (old soundcard, NVIDIA FX5200) it was possible to run FU3, FLED, ResViewer and one of my tools :-)very slow but it's a Vista Beta 2 version and the hardware is outdated for vista, but it's works ! http://www.agtim.ch/fu3/images/VistaFu3FLED.JPG http://www.agtim.ch/fu3/images/VistaFU3tools.JPG :-wave agtim

Well here I am again, in the same situation as 3 to 5 years ago...I've got FSX, bought the gen X 1 metre scenery, I've just got active sky X and guess what... I'm still saying to myself,''FU3 feel much more realistic than this''dear o dear... I must like wasting money huh.LaSt year (or was it 2 years ago) a very kind person from this forum by the name of Christian sent me the DVD version of the UK region. I'm sure since then so much has improved, I don't have the whole of England & Wales covered. I was wondering do any of you guys here have it?I don't mind paying you for your trouble.Cheers,Steve

Hi Folks,Yep, still here but haven't been able to do much on the FU front lately. I'm aware I have a few things to finish off.. thanks for your patience.Reading through the posts lately I couldn't help but think how many folks have "come back" to FU after a brief rendezvous with other flight sims. I guess that says something about FU and about the other sims.PS I don't want to start WWIII here, just an observation...Cheers:-wave Bruce H

Still down here in St Bernard parrish, La. Don't know the circumstances that brought the plane to this location. There's still a lot of damage to be repaired around here. Looking forward to finally wrapping up this contract and going home. You all take care,JimBhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/173357.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/173358.jpg
