I'm taking the plunge and starting to install AFCAD multi-layer airports. Making the layers is no problem. However, trying to separate my flightplans for the different layers has me stumped. I'm trying to do KPHL default scenery with two layers. One layer will handle all large commercial and cargo aircraft which have been assigned A/C radii according the the recent "Standardized A/C Radius Matrix" so the different liveries will use designated runways and park at their respective gates. Hi I have the World Airports by Simflyers. The problem I have with this is that it sets up it's own airport within the sim. As an example KEWR World Airports instead of just KEWR. When I download the AFCAD for the Simflyers scenery, I import it to AFCAD and save it as normal but the problem is that it saves to the original airport not the World Airport scenery. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can save it to KEWR World Airports.Thanks Andrew

Please could someone tell me the meaning and purpose of all the various comms types, e.g. unicom, ATF, FSS, AWOS. ASOS and so on. I can't find any reference to them either in AFCAD, TTools or MSFS2002 Help files, or on this Forum.David H

Hello everyone. I tried to randomize my flightplan.txt using AITM and compiled it using Tcompiler. The flightplan.txt checks out fine with randomized flight plan numbers, but when I run FS2002 the exact same flights appear at the same time at the same gate. In other words, the randomization didn't affect the which flights showed up in the game. I am using all the PAI official packs and with default gates at the airports so I know that some (50%) aren't showing up because of a lack of gates. Because of this, I know that randomizing the flight plans should have changed at least some of the planes that appear at the gates when the game is loaded.This is the second time …

Hi All,although in general GA and commercial traffic are routed by ATC to their respective parking spots (as indicated using AFCAD), sometimes I get sent to a GA spot flying in a 737. I haven't seen a cessna at a terminal gate though (but I have seen it in someone's screenshot).Is there ANY difference that ATC makes between the two types of air traffic, and if so - how? The selection between registration or flight number ID in the traffic file? Or is it just the order of parking space sizes and a good portion of luck that it usually goes okay?Please advice :-)Vince

I've had a few questions answered already that I didn't even know I had!But my real problem lies with my first afcad project. Hi,I just would like to ask about why having overlays?Is it for framerate problems or..?The reason for me asking is that I have bad framerate problems with my ESSA AI.I use the default scenery for ESSA, FS Painters and Project AI planes. I have made a Flightplan database from scratch with the available Scandinavian flightplans.When I have no AI I get 30 fps steady, but when I add the AI I get 5 - 8 fps. !!! :-hmmmSo, does an overlay solve my framerate problem or not?EDIT: I have all AI aircraft set to 30%.Fly safe,Staffan Ahlberg

Hi Guys,could anyone please offer an explanation to the following? I have edited EHAM with AFCAD, and after fiddling with some runway settings (locking them for departure or landing) the ONLY runway that is now ever used is RW24 (for departure) and opposite RW06 (for landing).ATIS for Schiphol today definitely announced RW27 for landing and departure, but ATC directed me to RW24 (again...). RW27/09 is not locked in any direction.Any ideas?Thanks!Vince

Has anyone done an overlay update for the default IAH, that will put the various airlines in their proper places, and allow multiple runways to be used? With what's available now, it's just chaos. :)

Don't know for how long, but realized that all my weekly flights are inoperative. 24Hr flights are fine, and FlightPlans.txt looks good.Have tried:1) Going back to original traffic.bgl file and recompiling from FlightPlans.txt.2) Installing TTools 1.3.1, which I hadn't gotten around to doing. Again started with original traffic.bgl, started FS2K2 to get it to process it.3) Running TTools in Win2K compatibility mode. Running on WinXP.Any help greatly appreciated. This could be big, big trouble.Dave

I just downloaded the base + all the misc. airline autoinstallers from project AI and installed them. No errors messages were given. Everything seemed to install smoothly. I have my ATC slider set all the way to 100%. Now when I go to different airports (major ones like jfk, dfw, atl etc.), I do see a few of the project AI aircraft. But no other default aircraft are visible as AI planes. My airports are even more abandoned looking than before. What did I do wrong ? Anyway to correct this ? thanks for any solutions.

Hi there,i installed AFCADs for EDDF (it included overlays FRA1, FRA2, FRA3, FRA4 and the base layer EDDF).Now i have FRA1, FRA2, FRA3, FRA4 and EDDF (the original) in my airport list, and if i want to call Frankfurt Airport on my approach to Frankfurt, i have now 5 Airport that i can call (EDDF, FRA1, FRA2...).OK. How can i get rid of the overlay????Pleas help, its driving me crazy.Thanks,Bodo

Hi all, it's very exciting to have a new version of ttools, and for FREE, I haven't got time to try it yet. Does anyone now if the new feature (fixed arrival times) will allow me to distribute the arrival of the AC at my favorite terminal (e.g one arriving AC every, say... 2 min) to eliminate so many Go Arounds?It would be nice to have the beautiful "string of pearls" that I see from my 7th floor apt. here just in front of RWY 30 in KMIA, sometimes when visibility is good, I can see 5 AC aligned on a very long final and some others doing traffic patterns...

Hi all,This behaviour is occurring at Congonhas (Brazilian airport).This airport has 2 parallel runways: 17R/35L (default active runway) and 17L/35R. Should be simple for any seasoned veteran:After overlays have been added, am I correct to say that traffic going to the "overlaid" airport will no longer make ATC contact with teh correct airport freqencies? Por ejemplo:KLAX: first overlay, normal ATC chatter1LAX: second overlay, will AI traffic here still contact "los angeles tower" and the likes when going to/leaving from this "airport?"thanks!-drew(8-| "TTools newbie"

hmm...i just produced a new set of .txt files to compile to fs2k2.then i compiled it. compiler said all ok....BUT in fs2k2 there are still the default planes and flightplans. whats gone wrong here?greezl
