Hope this will be the right forum for this subject, because didn't get much of a response in the MSFS general discussion forum. ;)Anyways, here's what I'm wanting to know. In this day and age, we all know that Kingman Az, and Victorville Ca. are the final resting places for many 707, 727, 737, 747, DC-9, D-10, L1011's. Here these aircraft are stored, parked, cut up. Mucho desert parking for these fine aircraft. I have flown a few trips to both places in MSFS 2002, and started thinking that to have static/Ai aircraft would really be a cool feature to place into this sim. I have one of FSPainters aircraft that is for AI. What do I have to do to add it to the aircraft list so that it is recognised by the sim as AI? As in this list:AC#1,200,"Beech Baron 58"AC#2,315,"Beech King Air 350"AC#3,430,"Boeing 737-400"AC#4,430,"Boeing 737-400 Paint1"AC#5,430,"Boeing 737-400 Paint2"AC#6,491,"Boeing 747-400"AC#7,491,"Boeing 747-400 Paint1"I have installed the aircraft, run the TTools Decompiler etc to generate the aircraft list but it doesn't show on the list at all.So, how do I get it on there?TAIDave

I'm having a problem with AITM. It removes 3000 flights when I shuffle, and are all of my MD-83 and Dehavilland Dash's. Those used to be the only ones used in the flight plan, intil I shuffled it, now those planes are of the past. Anyone? Also, how do you add, say an airbus to your flightplan. I think you have to add a new aircraft.txt folder inside the airbus folder. Is that right? Help!

I have been trying to add some AI traffic to an airport that has none at all.I have added a Control Tower and frequency to the Airport (airport previously had no Control Tower), there are some parking spaces there, these I have changed from all 'small' to 1 x Large, 1 x Medium and 1 x small.Everything has been saved and a new bgl written.A flight plan from the airport back to the same airport was added, by following the instructions in TTools.I restarted FS2002, selected the airport, the correct GMT time but don't see any AI aircraft or movement of any kind. Hey guys, look, I've been trying to open my aircraft.cfg files and not having any luck.The problem I'm having is when I go to open it, I get this window that states something like... "Paintshop unable to support this file". Blah, Blah, Blah.Why would this file want to be opened in paintshop???? I'm tryin to open it in wordpad, but it's not allowing me to do that. How do I change this? Also, some useful info might be that my file (Aircraft.cfg) has a small paint icon in it. Op system is Win98.Doc

I'm new at using AITM. I have a lot of MD-83 Alaska Airlines, so I changed the airline to a MD-80 KLM. It departs KSFO, and arrives KLAX. I created the plan myself. It shows up in the KSFO Export/Search tab, but not in the LAX one. It shows up in both timetables. I have a lot of flights out of KSFO, but only one aircraft was there. How do I fix that?

This may be a bit premature... I read in the FS2004 info that it will support multiple active runways. I was wondering if anyone had heard any more on this? Will this remove the need for overlays or will it just mean one runways for takeoffs & one for landings like you can do in AFCAD? They also mention that the spacing between ai will be improved to reduce go-arounds. I imagine we probably have to wait to see how it works but maybe there is someone out there with some inside info before I start importing overlays?

Hi Gang,Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question but here goes.Many of the airplanes that I have downloaded that say they are usable in FS2002 do not have the landing gear down on the ground when I use them for AI aircraft in TTools flight plans. The landing gear appears ok when I select the aircraft to fly using the aircraft menue but when used for AI they taxi around with no landing gear. :-( I've noticed that this happens at airports that I have used AFCAD to create taxiways and parking gates that did not have them in the default 2002. London City airport has one runway (10/28) and for AI a/c to take off from 28 they have to back taxi, do a 360 and lineup for take off. Using AFCAD 1.3.2 I have the a/c back taxying without problem.The trouble starts when they get to the end and do the 360.Instead of completing the circle and coming back onto the runway the a/c ends up on the grass, either to the left or right of the runway (seem a random choice) and takes off from there!The AFCAD manual describes how to make a turn around point but I have been unable to get this to work. Has anyone ?

How could I add an airport (present in the fs2002 "goto" list) to the AFCAD editable airports or in other terms, how could I add an airport to the navaids list?TIA

I'm wondering. Is it better to have all traffic at once, or split it in half using overlays. I personally like a busy airport. So, should I go with using just one AFCAD instead of an overlay?

While the AFCAD files are wonderful, the problem of AI aircraft behaving like angry mules at the runway is making me crazy. It's happening everywhere these days. 4 or 5 AI line up at the hold-short line at the active for take-off. 2 take-off. The others have frozen and will not proceed.I've tried changing the active runways, but this only works once in a while.Is there an AFCAD wizard in the house? Is there a comprehensive method you can describe that helps eliminate this maddening behavior?Thanks to all!!!!Rick

is there a way to change the size of aircraft spaces without getting to much into the technical aspect of things?explain...i eliminated all the cessnas and pipers from departing and arriving at the local international airport, but now i wanna make sure that any jet that comes in will not be afraid to plow into those little spots. so what i'm wondering is-- do i need to change the size by myself or will the jets go there if needed with no prompting from me.

hi all, is there a way i can put aircraft at gate numbers of my choosing without using tools like aitm etc, i have, thanks to you guys on here,aircraft at the airports but find it a bit duanting to use multi overlays and colors for airlines, if i may just go on a bit!!! i have planes at ontario, kont ,and would like to fill up one end of the airport myself say gate 30 to 38 ,the other end has plenty of ai planes , thanks for your help, regards.

Hi All,Need some help from the experts. I've delved into making layered airports lately, with much success. I've done about 15 so far, putting all the airlines at the proper terminals and gates. But I've run into one problem. When I did KSEA, I used someones AFCAD and modified it to custom fit each layer. I had a problem with aircraft being stuck at hold short red nodes on taxiways. I managed to solve that by putting blue nodes on all taxiways (except at the end of each runway for obvious reasons). The problem I am having is this. All aircraft land on 16R and take off on 16L and vice versa. That part works fine. But I have this damn annoying problem of aircraft taxiing BA…

I have managed to insert an ILS and a LOC using AFCAD. It shows in map view within FS. FS Navigator (F9) also picks it up (another frequency though!?).But my on-board radio cannot tune into it . . . I read somewhere that this requires a special tool called EasyNav..but the version I have found is for FS2000 (which I do not have). I am hesitant to use it.Any help is appreciated.

I recently upgraded from afcad 1.2 to 1.4. Now when I run my simulator and AFCAD the "+" indicator for my aircraft on the afcad screen is no longer there (so I don't know where I am on the airfield)Any Idea why? How to fix this (laymens trems please, new to FS and computers)

I've just noticed that you can download flight plans for airlines. So, I found a Delta one out of Atlanta. It shows aircraft I don't have. Can I still use the flight plans untill I download those aircraft? Also, do I use AITM to incooperate it?

I have been working on Ben Gurion Airport, using very good scenery I found on this site. I have added many AI flights but am having trouble with the AFCAD for the airport.Placing gates is easy but getting the traffic to go to the active via the most realistic taxiway (runway3) is somewhat difficult. From what I can tell, in order to get from the terminal areas, eithe new or old I have to have my traffic follow taxiway 'K' to runway 3 which is apparently the correct taxiway to to runway 26 (the active runway).The problem is my planes turn off the runway 3 onto an adjacent parallel minor taxiway which goes into runway 26.Is there a way to force traffic to utilize the corr…

( not concerned about realism )- In and effort to get more jets landing and taking off when I am departing or arriving.I think that departures will regenerate according to the REPEAT setting and thus there will always be a good chance of a few - severaldepartures when I start up at a gate. But what would happen with arrivals ? I have a nice variety of airliners/aircraft in my major airport flight plans ( albeit cobbled together ) - probably about 60 plans perairport. I just want to have the take off and land more frequently without building new plans.Any thoughts?Thanks,Myles
