Well, I know a lot of people are going to say - "search the forums stupid", but I am just getting started with AI aircraft and FS2k2. I noticed a few sites like project-ai, ai-ardvark, etc, that specialize in aircraft for AI, but I am a little confused on what I actually need to get and download to get all these ai planes flying around. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I'm not lazy and I am willing to read what I need to do to learn how to do it, I am just overwhelmed right now with all the tools and programs. Hi guys,A serious question and some observations, following eighteen months of ai, ttools and afcad "addiction."Unlike the totally reliable and consistant Aardvark 757 and 737 series ai aircraft, I am experiencing horrible oscillation problems from FSP 320 family, FSP MD80 family, Urakawa FSP 737-700 and Urakawa FSP 737-800 narrow body aircraft on approach. much like the porpoise, dive and crash behaviors that have required the use of default 737 models for other gmax-modeled aircraft being used for ai traffic. ;( When I select "APPR" (FD & LS already selected & AP on), my QNH jumps up to extreem values (selected 30.06, jumps to 31.76). If I don't react quick enough, you've got a controlled flight into terrain (even if your "GS" is armed and active). Is there anybody having the same problem and if so what can I do abpout it?

I downloaded and installed AFCAD and it works great. I am in the process of writing a traffic program for FS2002 simulating all arriving and departing flights from Philadelphia International during Feb 1986. (I came upon an old airline schedule and was inspired) I am about half way completed. Everything looks to be fine when I run FS2002 and go to PHL, except one thing. The aircraft that are inbound on the ILS starting from about 6 miles out grossly oscillate up and down. They dive then climb, dive then climb then end up slamming hard onto the ground. The departing traffic looks to be okay. Is there anything I can do about this? Also, is there a program out that …

Hi,I got new QF schedule so I copied the text accross to my flightplan folder and went to compile it and the compiler said the text has errors and it pointed out ,WEEK, it said it needs to be in 1,2,5,10,12,24hr time not weekly.This is the first time I have used a schedule that says WEEK instead of 24hr how do I fix this?Thanks

Hi, I guess the AFD files are AFCAD generated. They are giving me a headache now, and can't find any trace on them on any of the FS2002 CD's. I suspect they won't be there since they are not MS, but came from the people who made AFCAD. How can I find out how these files work or change them. I need the original source for them. Hi,I installed AFCAD and a scenery related to it recently. I cannot load FS2002 anynore, it hangs up at indexing, and have already done the recommended modifications mentioned in the readme file. I changed the *.original to *.bgl and deleted the old one. I have windows XP home, and have previously installed payware programs such as Turin from Lago. Can anybody help me or give me an idea how I might fix this? I made no backups, so I can't rely on this option( my fault). I am sure this has been posted before, but I had no idea where to start. Hi,I am currently having problems with FS2002 and want to de-install and re-install the current sceneries from the CD. If I choose to uninstall FS2002, it seems it does not give me an option for just uninstalling the sceneries. I don't wan't to go ahaed and press OK before making sure it does give me the option later to just uninstall the sceneries and does not uninstall the whole game. I know this is basic stuff, but I have not had to mess with this before, so I am green on this. All my troubles started when I uploaded some 3rd part scenery from another site. I beleive it has to do with AFCAD. Any help would be appreciated,regards,Max

I have added several AI planes to my flightplan. If I set the time at the GMT time in the plan using the GMT setting in FS2002 I don't see my planes. They don't appear and never takeoff. I am getting frustrated. I think I have everything setup OK. Please forgive me as I am new to making AI plans. Is there something I am missing? Thanks, regards, Bob.

from what i can see, you select the airlines/aircraft you wish to move to another place then select the origin airport followed by the new destination airport. then according to the instructions, the aircraft/airline selection is not used.what happens if i wanna take all cessna's using "vfr" flights out of an international airport, and put them in a regional place--without putting jets there as well?can that be done? or am i just misreading the directions?

I've seen some screenshots where the AI A/C in view do not display the registration number but the Airline and Flight # which , to me at least, are a lot more meaningful. Sooo ........Question #1 .... As far as I can tell that registration # does not serve any real function as far as the operation of FS2002 AI goes. ( If it does please tell me now before I really screw the pooch ! ) cause I want to replace the reg. # on commercial flights with the A/L name and flight #. ( I will make a back-up ).Question #2 .... Howdy all, time for a quiz:The two screen shots were taken on board the CVN-74 Stennis during testing of my AI helicopter/military package - I consider an operational carrier AFCAD file (with 4 gates) the "ultimate test" of AFCAD design, though not necessarily of great interest to the FS community. I have 2 overlays for London, one for BA and one for all the other airlines. However, when a BMI or any other plane lands, it goes straight to BA parking slots, even if I move the reference point. Could the problem be both overlays share the same frequencies?

I have a problem where every once in a while a plane wil pland and slow to taxi speeed on a runway but instead of continuing down to the next taxiway it will pull a u-turn on the runway & go backwards to exit the runway. Any ideas on why this happens or how to prevent this?

Will AITM show overlay airports...I am trying to move flights to an overlay...with the edit but when I try to type the overlay...it won't pull up the airport. Do I have to physically type in the new aircraft to the overlay? Thanks Jeff

i was just on a site that gave all kinds of technical info about airports and i noticed that KBOS mentioned that they might use different runways throughout the day, but once it gets dark, just the 15R/33L runway is in use (15R for arrivals and 33L for departures).don't tell me that aitm or afcad are able to switch runways to others when it gets dark?now that would truly be "as real as it gets".

Ok, why does Traffic Mover say that an aircraft has reached its range limits when the mileage is lower than stated ranges for the aircraft. (ie. flight mileage=782nm, aircraft range= 1000-3000nm) just for examples sake. Thanks Jeff

My question is...I have added some aircraft to my aircraft folder....they show up on my list in FS, so I know they are there....but when I open Traffic Mover and go into Flight plan aircraft (the top have saying something like aircraft in red not loaded into FS) Now I know they are there...I can see them on my list...so what am I doing wrong???? Why do they not show up there but down below in aircraft used in flight plans...all of my aircraft are blue (meaning they are used, correct???) By the way I use yroute to add aircraft...then copy the aircraft.txt file to traffic mover. Maybe there is the problem???? Need help it is driving me bonkers......Jeff :-hang

I have added two planes (a Tiger Moth & a DH Rapide) as AI. These a/c taxi, take off & fly just fine BUT they won't LAND!?!? Standard AI will land at my airfield just fine but the Moth/Rapide get just above the threshold & then execute a go-around every time!What gives here? How do I get these planes to land???

Hi everyone,Doubtless these questions have been asked many times before, so I am VERY sorry if anyone is tired of answering them...I recently decided to take the plunge and install some AI traffic. I am looking to lower myself into the process gently! I visited the PAI website, and just to see what it was like, I installed one of their latest 'ready made' AI kits. It was certainly simple, but I have to say that its maybe not for me. I was a little dissapointed with the quality of the aircraft, as I was thinking more along the line of the FSPainter aircraft quality.
