Can someone explain what may be wrong when an aircraft aligns with the centerline of the takeoff runway but does not start its takeoff run but simply sits there forever? Needless to say that the queue of waiting aircraft can become very long :-)By the way, if I taxi my aircraft to another intersection of the same runway and ask for takeoff clearance, ATC promptly clears me for takeoff, so obviously the sitting aircraft is forgotten.Obviously, for the aircraft to be aligned with the centerline means that it has already received its takeoff clearance, so it is not waiting for another ATC message, that is for sure.What causes this?Stamatis

Hi.I've updated my EHAM afcad with the new 'Polderbaan' (18R/36L). I made this runway the same legnth as runways 06/24 and 09/27. But FS never uses it. If I set wind to moderate at 360 degrees it still keeps using the other two runways. Anyone knows how I can have FS2002 use the different runways with regards to the winds direction. E.g. 18R for landing and 24 for take-off instead of 27 for landing and 24 for take off

I have just started with AFCAD and TTools etc. I am looking for an easy to use editor to add and remove AI and set time of departure etc. I have tried out Traffic Mover which I find good, but I am getting into a muddle with GMT and local, can't seem to match it up, I know it's simple, but. Example I want a AI to take off at 13:00, do I need to set FS to GMT or something as I have local time showing in FSSorry if I'm a bit thickAnthony........

There is an airport with only one runway, and its apron is located next to the mid point of that runway, so are the two taxiways from that apron to the runway. Thus, the two taxiways meet the airport near its midpoint. There are no parallel taxiways to the runway thresholds, so aircraft have to backtrack on the runway.Using AFCAD I have designed at each threshold a "turn-around", as often discussed in this forum, so when departing aircraft backtrack on the runway to reach the thresholds, they make a nice turn and align with the runway centerline ready for takeoff. I've been around AFCAD and modifications for a while, however, I have never been able to get overlays to work right. Only the original airport has the traffic. The other side, is blank. In AITM, I've moved the traffic from KSFO, to 2SFO, and still nothing. I gave up on KSFO, and just went with the regular AFCAD. 2SFO was in the aircraft.txt file. Do I have to do it by hand? If someone could previde a step by step way to do it, I would apprieciete it. I'm sick of being stuck in Delta rush hour in Atlanta! If I ever learn how, KATL, and back with KSFO are going to be the first airports to modify. If anyone also has an AIM adress, or MSN adress, and provide a step …

Hi Folks! I lost my web site favorites (Don't know where they went)in my browser that linked to web sites that offer FSPainter repaints.Can anybody replenish my appetite for those gorgeous AI model repaints?PLEASE?I also noticed 2 repaints in the Library a few weeks back of an FSPainter B737-800 in a Far Eastern livery. Hi,everytime I start up AFCAD or traffic tools, I get an error message saying I should report this error to Microsoft. I worked fine yesterday.I click on the decompiler icon and it starts. After 1 second the message comes up, I click "Don't Send" and then the decompiler shuts down. This exact problem happens with AFCAD and the compiler.Sometimes I get an error saying something about Win32 when I start AFCAD. Thanks for any help!DC-10

Hi everybody! I've worked a little on KATL and re-arranged the airports AFCAD layout, so there are less traffic jams. My concept works so far, as long as arriving AI aircraft wouldn't disappear after taxiing off the runway. I know there are enough gates with accurate radii, since all the gates are occupied on start-up. What could be the problem? Thanx for help... CF

I have just used AFCAD installer to install an aircraft text file. There is another file in the package containing parking specs which I am instructed to copy and paste to "the AFCAD configuration settings" Where can that file be found?

Hi! For quite some time I've been working on setting floatplane AI but also ship AI, both showing waves as they taxi or on t/o and landing run for floatplane. I've never had any problem of having any to show up as AI, either a/c or ships, except for one. Shigeru Tanaka's Cutty Sark (stcutty.zip). Could some of you try and report if they had success having it to appear as an AI. This trial could be made on any airport that has a large gate to accept it. Shure you won't be able to do anything with it, the aircraft.cfg file has to be tweaked. HiI am having some trouble with with the airports.txt file.Decompling works fine, but upon trying to recomplie, I am getting an error message with says that the coordinates for some airports are out of range- it seems that some have a "minutes" coordine of 60.00; instead of 59.99 or 00.00.Is anyone else getting this problem? I am getting round it by doing a find and replace in the Airports.txt file from 60.00 to 59.99, but I this is a bit tiresome. I think this has only come up since I started using the latest version of TTools.Any ideas anyone?CheersMike

If I have multiple AFCADS at a specific airport do I have to load the specific AFCAD location to use the AFCAD file? For instance at KORD there are six AFCADS. If I set FS2002 to start at KORD (not one of the other locations like 2ORD)is the KORD AFCAD the only one that is active or are all the others layered in also? At some 3rd party add-on airports I sometime see the pink progressive taxi line floating above the ground, or alternatively buried below the ground in which case it is not visible.Is there a way to fix this?Stamatis

Could someone tell me the time frame for an AI aircraft to show up at the gate prior to take off. For instance if an aircraft is scheduled to take of at 12:00 GMT, when will Fs2002 place this aircraft at a gate?Thanks,Bill

Is there a way to use AFCAD to check an AFCAD file without installing it in FS2002? I like the Fault Finder function and want to check some AFCADS for errors before I install them. There are so many floating around with numerous erors. Thanks, regards, Bob.

Hi everybody! I've noticed recently that after I land at some airports, after completing an IFR flight, ATC still assigns me to a GA parking spot rather than to a gate, even though there are plenty of gates vacant. WHY?!?! I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! CF

AI helicopters - Bell 206B JetRanger (MS Default) and Hughes 500DI have enjoyed the new AI helicopters that Holger Sandmann has made available to us (aiheli_1.zip and aiheli_4.zip at Avsim). Here I am concentrating on these two helicopters as my modest PC does not enjoy some of the large frame-rate hungry helicopters. I'm using UT and have modified the AFCAD for my own personal use of SImFlyers PHL. However after shifting a few gates my AI aircraft all float above the ground in this scenery. Any ideas how to fix this??Another question I have is, short of reinstalling my FS 2002 how can I put the Piper Cherokee aircraft file back in aircrafts for my AI aircraft which was accidentally deleted somehow??
