Hello alli am trying to build a mesh, i created a testimage called "mesh.raw" in Photoshop, then i create the .inf file as descripted in the TerrainSDKwhen using the batch, there is a message that says:[meshnew.tmf] doesn't seem to contain DEM or Class dataBounding rectangle set to the entire earth.where am I wrong?here my inf:[Destination] DestDir = "." DestBaseFileName = "meshbase" UseSourceDimensions = 1[source] Type = ElevS16MSB SourceDir = "." Hi, I have a greyscale image with 200 metres between elevation points that I want to convert to standard dem resolution (ie 7.5 secs, 3.75 secs) any ideas how I can enlarge/reduce the image to do this? Thanks David

I recently installed a scenery mesh that covered all of my homecountry area in FS2002 which is Portugal.Unfortunately something went really wrong and ruined my Scenery ground textures on the locality. I've deleted that scenerymesh,I've tried to restore my SCENEDB data but the problem is still there. Is there a way to fix this without having to reinstall FS2002 all over again?? Thanks Clear skies, Happy landings!!!

Hi.Sorry for being slightly off-topic, but I suppose this is where you find reliable knowledge about FS2002 mesh scenery. What is the actual effect of moving the mesh detail slider in FS2002? I know that when you move it left you get "poorer" mesh and better frame rates, but I would like a more detailed explanation. Some say that the parameter only influences the distance to which mesh is rendered in full resolution, others that it influences the entire visual area.On more thing: I use a mesh that's made from 3.75 arc second data and claimed to be LOD10. My understanding is that this can only be achieved through something called oversampling. Does this mean that my compute…

ok, I am trying to do a simple Mesh. I have picked up the Cape Disappointment USGS data and I have created the .BGL. When I view the BGL with the bgl viewer that came with the SDK, it looks GREAT! But when I put it in FS2002, there is no change. In the viewer the basic geography and shape of the island has changed, but not in FS2002. And none of the new elevation changes is there. I am using the 24k DEM SDTS for Cape Disappointment Washington, and here is my inf file:[Destination]LOD=AutoDestDir="C:My Downloads"DestBaseFileName="capedw" UseSourceDimensions=1[source]Type=ElevS16LSBNullCellValue=-9999SourceDir="c:My Downloads"SourceFile="CapeDw.bsq"Lat=45.00000000Lon=…

Hi,I have Version 2 of Bob Shubinski's Finger Lakes region of upstate New York mesh scenery but there is still a big discrepancy between the net result and reality. Aside from a few hills where there are not really hills, the terrain itself appears to be totally forested - valley and hills alike. In reality, the valleys in that region are mostly open farmland, and only the hills have forests. Also, there are whole small farming communities missing. I am not blaming Bob for these shortcomings but am curious. Are these things that could be corrected via Landclass Assistant or is there another tool that would be better?Stan V.

I wonder if anyone could look at this inf file and see if they can find anything wrong?[Destination] LOD = 12 DestDir = "G:TestsceneryMesh_scenery" DestBaseFileName = "mesh" UseSourceDimensions = 1[source] Type = ElevS16LSB SourceDir = "G:TestsceneryMesh_scenery" SourceFile = "mesh.dem" CellType = S16LSB NullCellValue = -9999 SampleIsCentered=0 NorthLat = 62.3761111111111 SouthLat = 61.9758333333333 EastLong = 6.82222222222222 WestLong = 5.91666666666667 Lat = 62.3761111111111 Lon = 5.91666666666667 NumOfCellsPerLine = 2058 NumOfLines = 4656 CellXdimensionDeg = 0.00044001727675197 CellYdimensionDeg = 0.0000859703130966024 ScaleI…

I've been flying MSFS since my C64 days and I've added a few buildings to the world in the past but this is the first time I've tried doing a mesh.I downloaded a 100m dem from the sight reccomended in the terrain SDK and converted it with READ_DEM. What I got appeared to be a 2884802 byte file with a signed 2 byte integer for every sample in a 1201x1201 grid. then I ran resample with the following inf file.[Destination] LOD = Auto DestDir = "e:tmp" DestBaseFileName = "tippy" UseSourceDimensions = 1 [source] Type = ElevS16LSB SourceDir = "e:tmp" SourceFile = "dane.bsq" Lat = 41.0000 Lon …

Hope someone can help:Recently I bought Raimundo Taburet's Mesh files for Central and West Europe and installed them.Looks good, however...have a look at the picture. It's Arnsberg Apt. which now shows extremely elevated.I've seen this with dozens of other (mainly smaller) airports. The all seem to be situated on a kind of 'mesa' ;)Anything I did wrong?- Gideon (EHAM)

Hi!I have numerious exclude bgl files for one airport and I was wondering if it was feasbile to merge all this files into one bgl file instead of having multiple exc bgl files? Thanks!jd

Hi, I am pretty new here and I need some help. In FS2002, at a parking, for example at Montreal, there is know gate or ramps to park the aircraft, you know, to let passengers go in the terminal. How can I have those ramps or gates (I don't really know what is the right word since my first language is french) to install in my FS2002. Thanks in advance for your help...really appreciated! Hi,When I look at available mesh packages, the author usually specifies the quality of the Mesh in arc seconds (e.g. 3.75 arc seconds)and/or a LOD value (e.g. LOD10).I think I understand what the measure in arc seconds means: the distance between two elevation points on the grid. So, measured on the equator, a 60 arcseconds mesh would mean that the distance between two elevation points is 1 Nmile or 1852 meter (and smaller if you go to the poles). So if somebody says: a 3.75 arcseconds mesh based on 30 arc seconds DEM data, this would mean: the defined elevation points in the area are 1852/16 = 115 meters apart, while only 1 of every 8 points is real data and the other 7…

I would truly appreciate all recommendations, be it big airports or GA strips. I have a more up to date PC now so I'd like to bring some life to the FS2002 world. Thanks a lot in advance!!!Best regards,Dirk <>

Hi,I wonder if you noticed in the Oshkosh scenery released lately by MS, the photoreal layout of the airport and the surrounding area fades nicely into the default terrain textures unlike other photoreal add ons I saw around and wich are simply a rectangle or box that does not blend with the surrounding like Oshkosh scenery does.Presuming they used Resampler.exe method. So if we use Alpha Chanel to errase the parts we do not want to show we will get water where the Alpha Channel is aplied, is that right? So how did they do to blend it with the default ground textures you think?CheersMichel

I tried a scenery project a few months ago using EOD (Easy Object Designer) and didn't get very far due to the limitations of the program. I have decided to try again... but this time I want to make sure I use the correct program to build macros such as hangars, towers, etc. Do any of you have suggestions of what to use? The project is a GA airport, so I am not interested in designing any gates... just hangars and FBOs. Any ideas? I am photographing tomorrow and hope to get some serious work done on the main layout of the airport... so comments and suggestions are welcome. Hello, I was wanting to know if it were [is] possible to create a mesh for an airport that is fairly detailed enough to show thecurves in the runway (i.e the elevation of the runway at cretain points along the runway, because it isn't just flat!!!) I would like to make a mesh that starts at one end of the runway and follows the gradient of the runway (not to be exactly perfect, but show the general slope of the runway) Ihope you understand what I am saying. If not I can draw diagrams to explain. Obviously I want to make the mesh conver the airport so you don't just have a ditch thing where the runway is....if this were possible it would add soo much to Flight Simulat…

I have made a mesh-scenery with Paint shop, grises50 and FS2000 terrain SDK.But when I copy this to FS I only get the old mesh-scenery :-(This is the .inf file:[Destination] LOD = 13 DestDir = "G:TestsceneryMesh_scenery" DestBaseFileName = "mesh" UseSourceDimensions = 1[source] Type = ElevS16LSB SourceDir = "G:TestsceneryMesh_scenery" SourceFile = "mesh.dem" Lat = 62.24808 Lon = -6.000000 NumOfCellsPerLine = 1766 NumOfLines = 1886 CellXdimensionDeg = 0.014648438 CellYdimensionDeg = 0.010986328 ScaleinMeters = 1.000000The area is N62:10 E6:00 to N62:15 E6:10 (8,5*8,5km).Do this look right?Should the Lon…
