The problem of reprojecting raster images has been a topic from time to time. The fGIS list recently advised of a new tutorial and example files from digital grove that make use of the free GDALWARP program. It's command line, but might be worth checking out. I'm attempting to learn to use Ground2K4. I tried to do a textured polygon, following the "ground2k4 for beginners" tutorial. Whenever I attempt to do a "poly without shore," I can't select VTP1 type poly. LWM Poly and VTP2 Poly are there, but the VTP1 button is shaded out. Anyone know what could be causing this?Thanks for any help.kkilo

I downloaded an autogen program to add realistic trees. now some of the lesser traveled airports such as Henderson, Nevada have trees in the middle of certain runways. obviously the program does not always properly place the trees. Does anyone know of a fix or an idea of how to solve this?

I'm new to GMAX and want to make a curved roof building. Hi,I have discovered that some of the default texture tile sets have autogen objects associated with them but without there being any corresponding agn files in the WorldTexture directory. Specifically, texture set 025b has autogen trees scattered randomly but without there being any agn file. If one keeps the original default MS textures this doesn't really matter too much but but if one changes the textures for more realistic ones the randomly scattered auotogen trees make the scenery quite ugly since they don't line up with any of the terrain features. I wonder if anyone knows how to disable this autogen scenery. I know it's possible to do so using an exclude file but …

Recently I've been trying to learn how to use Gmax and I have seen some screenshots of scenery with these really cool looking chain link fences. Most of them are macros to be used with Airport 2.60, but I was wondering if it is possible to create chain linked fences with Gmax and if so how?

I've uploaded a new version of my Autogen program (1.0.37) to the VFR Addons site. There's a few bug fixes in it in addition to two new very needed features. The latest executable file can be downloaded at http://www.vfraddons.co.uk/artseditor_view.php. Remember that a download of only the executable can only be expected to work if you've previously done a full install of an earlier version. Bearing in mind that I am quite satisfied with FS2004 and that I will not buy FS2006 when it comes out because pending retirement means less money to spend, I have started designing my own scenery to enhance the enjoyment and usefullness of what I already have.I am therefore wondering if producing scenery with SceneGenX has any particular advantages over using the older method of Airport for Windows. For example, is the output physically more accurate or robust as far as FS2004 is concerned?Any views will be very much appreciated.David

Hi guys.Got a little problem with Ground2K4 I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on.Basically, the sceneries I'm making keep crashing FS9. I'm using Version 5 and placing VTP2 polys, using the Other Textures list, as sourced from the main Texture folder. The second you come near the scenery it crashes.Versions 5, 5.1 and 5.32 have the same problem. Can't use version 5.4 because of the road VTP display bug in the interface. Version 6 does not work at all and besides there's a lot of flack about its authorship.Any ideas?Cheers,Matthew.

I have been wrestling with a minor problem for a few weeks now. I have been trying to get FS2K4 to drop the individual TRACONS (Approach/Departure centers) around the SFO area, and others - Bay, Sacramento, etc in favor of the new Norcal Approach/Departure, but have been so far unsuccessful. I have tried changing the callsigns in AFCAD, but it still insists on using Bay (or whatever). Is there anyway to get MSFS to use the changes, or am I just trying for too much realism (otherwise known as wasting my time)?

I know I must be doing something wrong here. I have completed all the runways etc in AFCAD. The final part was the tower and I wanted this to look down on the runway, however whatever height I set it at it doesn't change, The airfield is created with FSSC and there is s flatten, could it be something to do with that?Any help appreciatedCheersPaul

I created a waypoint. The .xml requires it to be associated with an airport and needs the airport ID, latitude, longitude, and altitude. I made a mistake and entered altitude in metres instead of feet. When I loaded a stored flight from the airport with the aircraft at the end of the runway, I found the aircraft hovering stationary several hundred feet above the airport at the height set in the waypoint .xml!This was easily corrected, but made me wonder that because approaches have also to be associated with a particular airport does this mean than only waypoints associated with that airport can be used in an approach?

FS9 has a stock airfield Hatfield (EGTH). This airfield is now closed and its ID has been transfered to Old Warden.I used AFCAD to change Hatfield to be EG00, set the runway to closed and saved the change as AF_EG00.bgl in ...Addon SceneryScenery. To be fair, AFCAD warned me that this would create two airfields!I created Old Warden to be EGTH as AF_EG01.bgl and saved that in ...Addon SceneryScenery.However, when I try to create a flight plan Hatfield still appears in the list as EGTH and Old Warden doesn't appear at all. When I go to map mode Hatfield appears twice as EG00 and EGTH and Old Warden also appears as EGTH.Is there anyway round this or is it a built-in limitat…

Hi all,I'm having trouble with excluding windsocks from default airfields. All other default objects disappear when I code the XML exclusion rectangle but the windsocks remain ;-(I checked the corresponding default object file and my rectangle definitely excludes the windsock location, or so I think. Here's an example:1. The original code for two windsocks 2. My XML exclude codeLike I said, everything else works just fine. I also tried adding excludeAllObjects = "TRUE" but that didn't help either.Any ideas what I might be missing?Cheers, Holger

Hi,I have built a small airstrip but the background scenery (the low quality roads, farms ect.) directly around it clashes with it. Hi, I've been using SceneGenX for a few days now without any problem. Today, I loaded up my airstrip and made quite a few changes all at once (big mistake) such as runway length and lines, added a few more taxiway signs, rotated a few objects ect. I am attempting to create a hanger at my local airfield (EGNM) and I am not sure how to do it.Anyway, I don't know the size of the building and would have to guess. Hi Folks, the next nebwie in Scenery Design. :-shy I have started my first Airport project. I will make a little airport in the switzerland. I have found a beautiful place. The default Airport "ALPNACH" LSMA.So i have a little problem with the default flattenfile from the sim. The Flatten is in the follow file: "fl950150.bgl". Is it possible to exclude or delete this on flatten polygon for the Alpnach Airport. I have tried to delete this polygon from the default file and recompile this. But after the compile, i have many elevating on the other default airport. I work with SBUILDER. Have many people an idea, how i can delete this Flatten Polygon?

Sorry if this sound rude but why has no one made a Leeds Bradford Airport scenery package for fs2004.It's the fastest growing airport in the UK!!!!!!!!!!!I'm not a scenery person and my attemps at it are, well you would not want to see. I posted here as this is where all the great people of scenery come.I can get charts nd pics. of the airport to help.I hope that you can help and yes, I have looked in the file library alot.

Would anyone offer to make the terminal building for Jeffco (KBJC)? There has got to be a simple answer to this if only I knew :-hmmm I am using Airport for Windows V3 Build 192. I have created an exclude area to remove a default hangar and this works OK. However, I want to put my own hangar in the same place as where the default one was but when I do it is also being excluded so I cannot see it in FS2004.Oh what am I doing wrong? Hi guys.Ive been working on Woodvale AB (EGOW-UK) in AFCAD.Ive now completed eveything i can in use with that program, Ive now come to a halt.I have no idea how to erase the Autogen scenrey in the area of the airfield, and add macros/objects, using the AFCAD BGL, is there a converter from AFCAD - SceneGen X? or something of the sort, because otherwise that means my AFCAD BGL is pretty much useless..Any help would be greatly appriciated.
