Hi,It concerns my apron. The day texture (concrete) is OK, but the night texture seems to have problems with a sort of bleeding through (layer 8), even a difuse red line can be seen. Night texture is made by PSP. Working with FS2002 and Airport.Greetz. Jos

After downloading and installation of the NZ scenery I noticed that alot of dark grey rectangular objects are on the ground most of them nearbuildings. Some look like trees, crossed rectangulars other are singles,just flat standing. I hope that my explanation will ring a bell bysomeone. I cannot seem to export the animation of ny rotating radar antenna. It works perfectly in gmax, and I can export a simple rotating box but not my more complex antenna. I tried Grouping the components of the antenna, and tried Boolean union, Neither worked. I read the animation SDK but it is not a model of technical writing. Nevertheless, I took all the precautions I could from it. Both the rotating part and the total bgl have prefixes of tick18_name.Additionally, when I Booleaned them together the vertical axis of rotation changed. Is there a way to set the (vertical) axis of rotation of a complex structure?

Hi,I am new to this scenery design thing and to be honest am a bit bamboozelled by a lot of it however, I wish to create an effect. The effect concerned is for all intents and purposes a firework. I have managed, utilizing Novasim, to create the effect but, it activates once when I get close to the scenery and that is it. What I would like to achieve is for the effect to repeat itself every 10 to 15 secs. Is this possible and if so, can it be explained in simple terms for a newbie to all this?CheersBruce

I recently started creating sceneries. I use Ground2k4 V5.4 to create/update watermarks, roads etc. I successfuly disabled the rivers, roads and covered the lake at the wrong place with an LWM poly land class.Now I tried re-creating a river (a wide one) and a lake. It is not clear what options shoud I use to have some texture at the river and lake shore. I selected Poly with shore and LWM poly. On the LINES tab I selected something (for example first item 1024 stream lines / unknown / perennial) and on the LWM tab I selected Water.Now the wate appears correctly, but there is no sorrounding texture (i.e. coast). I tried some other combinations as well, but then even the wa…

Hi,As I was filling in the data in FSRegen and came to the point of "Create API", I had to choose an object. Although the Library screen was empty.Must I make a map ? What for name ? (I made one: "Library" and I saw that files were stored into this new map, but is this enough ?)... or/and must I save first the files before they appear in the screen ?And where will this API be stored ?Further: I see an item in the FSRegen-directory: Libview (configuration setting)... inside: C:.... I'm fixing an airport in PR "ABO" with afcad2. No problem there, looks pretty sweet. I want to ad grass to inside and outside of the added taxiways and ramp. I've been reading all around and can't seem to fine how to do it. I dont like the afcad grass, I wouold like to use the same grass under the FS9 airstrip. Please help!

Over in the General Discussion forum is an interesting post regarding "Shooting Stars" which some of us remember seeing in FS2002 but which seem to have dissapeared in FS2004. (The effect is still in your effects folder)Hopefully a scenery designer will take a look at this and come up with an add on that will allow them to be seen (randomly) once again. Ideally, such an add on could be set to display meteor showers (i.e. considerably more than just the occasional random shot) also.There are many of us who would like to liven up our nighttime flying experience with such an add on - that runs by itself and does not have to be invoked using a hot key.Any takers?

I'm working on recreating scenery one of domestic airport in my country for MSFS2004. Now the scenery is completed and texture are applied..but I encountered problem when running them in FS2004, when it start, all some of the texture look very blur for few seconds and the everthing fine..then again after few seconds some of them become blury again and sometimes, they last for minutes.. I wonder why is that ?I'm using GMAX for the scenery and the texture are edited using Adobe Photoshop CS2..all the extended bmp are compiled using DXTBmp under format extended 16 bit 555-1thanks in advance for any help..

I'm building an air force base (KBKF) and I've got all the buildings, hangers and such built but have one problem I've not been able to figure out.When I fly overhead and look down, I can see the planes inside the hangers through the roof and roof textures. How do I eliminate the transparency of the roof? The transparency is set to 0 for the object and the texture but that didn't correct the situation.I'm sure this is just a newbie question but I haven't been able to locate the simple fix.Thanks in advance.

Go to World, Map, Tower, and drag the tower view to the end of a runway directly on the center line..... Set the altitude 100 feet above the runway. Land a 737 and do a replay in Tower view,(Turn up your sound levels) with the plane passing directly overhead.The system will swivel around and you can watch your landings from a viewpoint similar to those B movie scenes. Can be adictive.

I have a senery in which I have 3 objects on the ground - the ground itself, some AFCAD taxiways and a 2D Gmax polygon with a taxiway texture on it. The problem is, I can't seem to get it so it looks right. The shadows can only be seen from a very high angle, or a very low angle, and if I go further than about a mile out, you can see the ground through the texture.I have the ground at 58.5161m, the AFCAD at 58.53659m (that's 192ft, according to FS Scenery Creator), and the textured poly at 58.54659m.What kinds of seperations should I be using? I've seen sceneries that use AFCAD data and textured polys with no shadow or show-through side effects at all.

I would like to add some very nice looking Gliders made by Wolfgand Piper and I am wondering whether I could add them as AI. The idea being to create about 4/5 parking spots around the airfield and somehow assign these to the gliders. Then as I have done with a couple of small GA planes make sure that the AI instructions mean that most of the time they are on the ground.I did try to just put a standalone parking spot but that just comes up with a fault and could wreck the other AI.Anyone got any idea if this is possible and if so, how would I go about assigning the gliders?As everything is put together with Gmax and AFCAD, when I tried to use FSSC to utilise API's FS9 jus…

Hi,I started to create my first own little airport in Arizona, and so I tried to flat the area and to exclude all trees. To do this I used the programs I could find here in the forum (FSTFlatten...). But I just got error messages (e.g. in FST Flatten over 5 until the program started). So can someone please flat me the area and exclude all trees? Howdy Y'all,I've been drawing miles of cottonwood groves along a small river as VTP2 polys, layer 15. The stream is layer 16. For whatever reason, the cottonwood groves drawn on one topo map are not appearing in FS9 but do appear in an adjacent map area drawn earlier. Is it possible to overload Ground2K4. If not, any ideas as to what might be going on? I'm at a loss.FS9 is also freezing and requiring shutdown after less than a minute of flight over this scenery. Might the two phenomena be connected?Any help and suggestions will be mightily appreciated.Wil

I was told on another GMAX Forum that DXT1 with alpha file formats was not supported in FS9 and that I would have to stay with DXT3 for full and partial transparency. I hope someone more experienced can confirm this is not true.

I've been sticking to keeping VTP polys on layer 7, if I want the watermask to clip them, or higher. Is there any reason not to put VTP polys on layers 4-6?Thanks!sg
