    Hi all,I have made a photorealistic scenery terrain with customised aerial photos. What would be the best (and easiest, especially for a new scenery designer :-) ) programme available?     I'm to the point in my Phoenix area scenery design where I'm doing the fine details now including relocating many of the downtown buildings that FS has created but badly misplaced. The process on most of them is pretty simple even if it's a bit time consuming. I have a very good list of all the major Phoenix building objects from an Excel spreadsheet I found in one of the scenery design libraries. Nearly all the Phoenix objects have names such as Phx_BOB or Phx_QwestTower and it's fairly easy to find the GUID's for manipulating and replacing the objects.     Up till now, my Gmax modeling skills have be confined to static models - Buildings, fences, runway markers etc. I want to expand these skills to dynamic scenery, so want to start with a windsock.Ive been trawling the net and various forums, but cant seem to find how to get started. I know how to animate an object (make the sock spin on an axis and stand up in the wind), but how do I get it to turn to follow the wind, or stand up when wind is greater than 0 knots)? Is exporting the model any different to a static object?I also watched a brilliant Flash tutorial on aninmating a jetway gate. How would you go about triggering something like this to move?Jon

  5. Hello Guys,I'm just creating some large scaled textures of 1024x1024pix size. When I use PhotoImpact for converting them from 24bit to 8-bit, all works very well and there is no real difference visible.But when I use ImageTool to convert the same texture (doesn't matter if from 24-bot or 8-bit) to DXT1, there is a real lack in quality.Is is not possible to get the same result with DXT1 as with 8-bit BMP?     I have returned from a long break from my airport project... again.I was in contact with George (Boston scenery guy) a while back and was asking him how he went about doing his awesome ground textures.He told me he used FSSC to texture his taxiways and grass...etc. Also that he used Gmax to make the runways and FSSC's invisible runway option and a lot of time aligning them.Now, following his advice I have installed FSSC and being familiar with AFW I am pretty good at adding runways taxiways..etc. BUT The problem I run into is the fact that for taxiways I am limited to the textures that are in squares.     Hello,Want to texture an apron, so a large polygon. With the gate numbers drawn on the ground and taxilines (maybe I draw this taxilines better with another program such as FSSC). Using PSP for this job.Had to look out that 256 x 256 is used... and the polygon is much larger...     Hello all. AutoAsm can create large numbers of animated objects linked to VTP lines, an obvious application being the creation of moving traffic on roads. However, I've hit a problem. It works fine up to about 400 objects, but above that bglc starts to generate error messages.     Currently I'm using various NAV2 radios to control hanger doors but in another area where I do 3D animations, we can use an invisible trigger object to trigger an event. In this realm, as one approaches a door, the person crosses an invisible object (the trigger) and due to the proximity of the invisible object to the door, it is assummed that the person wishes to pass through the door and the door opens automatically.I would like to do the same thing in FS9. As an a/c approaches a hanger, I would like the hanger doors to automatically open and when the a/c is entirely inside the hanger and across the interior trigger object, for the door to automatically close.     Hello,I recently installed 3D clouds fix (I think the latest version).This works great, but in order to increase my FR even more I wanted to try going back and unchecking "detailed clouds". When I do this, I see big white blocks instead of the default 2D clouds. (when FS9 was first installed, I remember the 2D (or 'undetailed' clouds) weren't the best but they were NOT big square white blocks.Is there a way to just restore the 2D clouds from the CD or do I need to re install?I know I know, you're going to say "why didn't you back them up?".well, I have no answer for that :(Regards,Jeff

    Hi,at the moment I'm planting some autogen-trees on a photo-scenery with MS Annotator. I want to place them very near to the ends of the runway of an existing MS-standart airport. I can place them left or right the runway without problems, but I cannot place these trees before and after the runway. There is a distance of about 1/2 mile behind or in front of the runway-end, where no trees are visible, although I placed them with annonator at that place.     I've been working on adding a bridge-building tool into my autogen creation program that would allow the user to do the following:1. Create, using the available FS objects (specifically the bridge span and ramp segments), a bridge definition object. That object would include which default object would be used for the end ramps of the bridge and which object would be used to fill in the span between those two ramps if any remaining space existed.     I can't seem to find any information about removing the flattening poly's of the default airports in FS2004. I'm trying to remove a default airstrip that sits at the bottom of a 200 foot hole after installing 38.2m mesh. Then, I want to rebuild it down the mountain and more like the real strip. Having no scenery design experience, it's taken me a while to figure everything out. I can rebuild the airport, no problem...I think. And I can exclude all the airstrip's objects. But I can't seem to get rid of the big hole the airstrip sits in. How do I do that?I tried remesh on ground2k4, but it doesn't have any effect.kkilo

  24. Hi!I have a problem using my FS2002 sceneries with FS2004. These sceneries use SCASM's TexPoly instructions on a flattened area at and around airports to display high resolution ground-textures.In FS2002 everything works fine. But in FS2004 my ground-textures hide the new XML-default airports. Giving my scenery least priority doesn't help. I've searched the net and understood, that the drawing sequence changed between FS2002 and FS2004 so that FS2004 draws the XML-scenery first and then my textures thus hiding the XML-scenery.
