I recently downloaded Derrek Leung's Flight Sim Scenery Creator (v 1.5.0.11) and am trying to put something in FS9. When I go to the 'Texture'tab while creating a runway, I get a "Texture Loading Error", no texture shown in the program, and no runway in FS9.Also, when I go to Tools>Preferences, under the "Flight Sim Version" it only goes up to FS2002. Do I need a more recent version of FSSC? Do I need to have FS2002 loaded for textures?

Hi,To be sure...Can I use a background image in GMAX as a guidance (map) in order to locate buildings, roads, ... in my case a fence because all the sections had to be fit together ? What about orientation ? The scale. Are there some problems to expect ? How do I delete/ignore the background image before exporting and testing ?Greetz. Jos

Hi folks,I have a problem with invisible objects at a freeware airport scenery for fs8 that I am trying to use in fs9.1. The scenery is for Moscow, Sheremetyevo (UUEE) and whenever I try to taxi a plane on the south apron, a crash (in FS, not a computer crash) occurs and the message "OBJECT COLLISION" is displayed. There is no visible object in the sim that I am crashing into so I don't know what "object" is causing the problem. Any ideas what is happening and how to fix it??Geoff

I've got a decompiled (BGLanalyze) bridge object that I'd like to rotate 19 degrees counter clockwise. I'm trying to use SCASMs RotatedCall function to no avail. Can anyone lend a little hand-holding? Should this call be using instead of, or before PerspectiveCall and ShadowCall? Never tried this before..so thanks in advance!Best,sg

I am trying to edit the default Elmendorf AFB Airport. The default scenery used some horrible buildings to represent the maintenance hangars, and I want to delete the buildings out of the scenery. I've taken the bgl that has elmendorf in it, but it has none of the buildings in it. How would I find these buildings so I can delete them? Thanks in advance

I am writing a program to assist in placing default pylons by specifying the end points of straight runs.I understand that in order to align the arms of the pylon one needs to add 90 degrees to the heading (of the power line). I have created two L-shaped runs of pylons, East then North and South then West. The first one works fine, but the corner of the second one is wrong. The angles for the first one are 180 for the first leg, 135 for the corner and 90 for the second leg. This displays correctly. The angles for the second one are 270 for the first leg, 225 for the corner and 180 for the second leg. When displayed, the corner pylon is 90 degrees out. I have attached the …

Hi,As I wanted to export my model to FS2002 an error appears:Running modelStart! (C:gmaxmeshesEBOSfence)Loading X C:gmaxmeshesEBOSfence...ERROR: Invalid X file: C:gmaxmeshesEBOSfence.Error!Error!----------------------------------------------and of course no .bgl to see.Is my Makemdl corrupt ? Makemdl and fsmodelexp are located in GMAX/Plugins. Maybe I need a newer version for GMAX 1.2 ?Where can I find this files on the Net and download a new pair ?Or is there another solution ?Greetz. I've created an airfield using AFCAD 2.21. I use the same texture (Asphalt) for the runway, aprons and taxiways but only the runway seems to have a patterned texture. The taxiways and aprons are plain grey in colour.Is this a known problem?

Hi All,I'd make a landable GMAX platform for my airport by FS9 attach platform method. I can taxi my self-driven aircraft like Cessna anywhere on this platform without difficulty. My trouble is my AI will not to depart when the scheduled time is coming. It just simplely disappear even not to start-up it's engine.Something wrong on my platform? Or the problem of AfCAD? Or AI flight plans (I already checked my ai flightplans by AITM)? Could anyone give me a hint to solve this problem?Thanks a lot!Rudolf

Hi all!Could someone tell me if there is a way to reduce (or bypass altogether) FS2004 splash screen time (the one with the DC3 on) to speedup program's startup time. Would be usefull when rebooting after a scenery mod. Thanks for any advice,Hugo

Hi folksI'm trying to use FSTFlatten for FS2004. 1: I moved the FS9 airport files to main dir and renamed to BGLHeader.dat as from the readme.2: I believe I have runtime files 6.0 installed.3: I open FS, open FSTFlatten, program gives me 1st of several errormessages. It reads fine via FSuipc but won't record the data. Gives me several errormessages, most of them to the effect that it can't find or read some files. At one point it couldn't read the .CUR icon file! Also, even when deleting the .txt file and I create new file, name it, then create new area, it always tells me: area allready open..Can someone help me bring this fine tool alive on my comp?thanks in advance,Das…

I am trying to make an AFCAD for KIFP (Laughlin/Bullhead City). This is my first attempt at making an AFCAD from scratch. I am having troubles with taxiway designations and several errors that I have not been able to correct. I'd sure appreciate it if one of the AFCAD experts could help me fix it and explain my mistakes to me. I cannot seem to apply designators for the taxiways. It says "Blank" in the designator and there is no way to change it that I have found. I have already had one AI plane land and taxi to a gate so it must be working partly. I'm working on a new scenery and am having problems getting my hanger doors animated. I have no problem with folding doors but, the sliding doors will not animate. There are 3 doors on each side.I created my hanger in GMAX, grouped each set of 3 doors, named one set Tick18_rightdoors and the other set Tick18_leftdoors. The doors animate perfectly in GMAX. I then processed my .asm file with CAT, applying a conditional trigger of NAV2. I'm sure my handling of CAT is fine as I've used the conditional animation trigger a number of times successfully. Hey all,I'm working on a project that might involve editing some scenery, and I haven't done anything but panels and models thus far, so some of this is a bit confusing.I'm trying to import DEM data into SBuilder (should I even be using this app?). The DEM data is available as 10 or 30 meter SDTS which is all straight forward. Where the confusion comes in is that the file extentions for this stuff is .DDF. SBuilder is looking for .HGT, (for later conversion to BSQ). I have not seen antyhing that translates .DDF to .HGT, and renaming the extenstions did not work.What's the procedure to get .DDF (SDTS) DEM data into this damned thing?Also, Although I've read through the FAQ…

ive got a really annoying problem with my scenery. Instead of the horizon slowly mergeing into mist or where the eye can see no more the land simply ends, its hard to explain, but i can see perfectly fine, then suddenly all land and terrain just ends, and the sky comes in to view. also all land is pitch black and the whole world is just so dull. It's really annoying, as sometimes i have actually seen the FS horizon slowly merge to sky, so i know it can be done, may this be to do with the visibility?

Hi there, have downloaded Roger Mole's scenery restoration of the great approach at Hong Kong's old Kai Tak airport.http://www.flightsim.ukgo.com/VHHK_dl.shtmlBut frame rates around the airport are pretty bad, and it's not my computer. The rest of the region is fine, only near the airport does it start to jerk all over the place.Roger says it's always been a problem. He says it really needs to be remade with GMax.Can anyone suggest a fix, or is there a more recent Kai Tak scenery out there? Cheers. Leigh.

Well, figured it's time to start a new post cause the last one we were in went way off its main topic of default buildings and into GMAX techniques. On that latter subject here's a sample of my first attempts at GMAX creation. In this flyover of downtown Phoenix I have two new objects, the Hyatt Hotel on the right of the image with it's rotating restaurant on top and the odd sculpture at Patriots's park that looks like a spaceship. Hi,I've been making a relistic Afcad file for Belfast aldergrove, but I can't seem to make the AI traffic take the red route show in the picture after landing on runway 25. Can anybody tell what are the filenames (and their location), of the default apron textures used in AFCAD2? In particular I am looking for the grass textures.There are three listed in AFCAD2 (Grass1, Grass2, Grass3), but they all look exacly the same. Could I not replace one of those with one of my own for some variety?

I'm at a loss. I get an error whenever I export that says I have a MakeMDL problem. I have even reinstalled GMAX three times and installed the FS2004 SDK. No go! Is there a config file elsewhere on the computer that I'm not uninstalling when I try the clean install?File names do not have spaces in them and one of the files exports fine on my desktop (this in the laptop).

Hi folksThis may be old hat to some of you, but this just dawned on me yesterday as I was doing an entire airport perimeter in GMAX:Trying to be ultraprecise on larger models in GMAX often makes me pull my hair in agony because of the viewport setup. What I figured out is this: To maintain a fixed perspective regardless of how much moving about you do, simply make a plane just below 0 meters and texture the plane with your background image, thus substituting the background image with a simple temporary models that always sits where you want it. Also, you'll no longer get huge temporary image files.Hope this helps one or two of you.Cheers,Dasher7
