Quick question - for some reason, I can't get resample to use my TGA file after I've added the alpha channel to get land/water masked. If I save the tga as a bmp and change my inf accordingly, it works great, but no reflective water. If I add the alpha, mask an area of land and paint it white, save as TGA, resample won't load it. I've saved as 32-bit +/-RLE encoding, even tried 24-bit though I knew it wouldn't work... Any thoughts? Is there a right way to add an alpha channel in photoshop CS?Thanks!sg

HiJust had a couple of questions on Slartibartfast which I've just been trying and have found very powerful.1. Is there any paint program (preferably freeware or payware with a trial) where I can paint 16-bit grayscale bitmaps (ie. with full palette of 63356 available). I have trial Photoshop and PhotoImpact which both load/save the format but only seem to have 256 shades in the palette. When trying to make a manual lake watermap for now I'm putting in arbitrary values & then having to manually change them all in the .bgs file before the final compile..2. HiI recently finished the Freeflow tutorial for using Slartibartfast for the first time & everything worked good.But now I'm trying to recompile the same CapeCod scenery as 9 (3x3) LOD 8 cells encompassing the same scenery starting in the same NW corner as the example (-71.25E, 42.1875N).All LOD 8 cells compile fine except for the one in the top-right and bottom-right where I get this message:***The Watermap has more than two values but contains no land (0x7F7F)***Problem preparing watermap - erasing itI noticed that these two LOD 8 cells are a bit different than the others in that the only really have land touching one edge and their top-left corners both have large …

Hi all,I have a beacon animated and working perfectly in FS using the Tick18_name.Now, I made a car that rides along a spline, added the tick18_name to the car, and it didn't animate in FS. After investigation, I saw that it was neccessary to add a static object to the scene in order for the car to animate in FS...so, I put in a static car as well. I've some airports where the underlying terrain partially bleeds through, thus I have hills going right through the runway etc.What can I do against this? Is the flatten= switch in scenery.cfg of any help here?Andreas

Hi,I'm creating a ship in gmax. And I'm using attached efects for lights. I created new effects which are visible from approx 10nm but they behave somehow strange.1) If I start FS somewhere around the ship (up to 5nm) I can fly away and still see the lights. But if I start in greater distance and closing to the ship, no lights appear, everything is dark, the effect is not initiated.2) I have each light (effect) twice, one for DAY=0;NIGHT=1; second for DAWN=1;DUSK=1;. And some lights appear only either at night or in the evening/morning. It depends on the situation which came first. If I load the flight and set dusk, the lights are on for the evening but not at night. If I…

I feel a little like an imposter in this Forum; I'm no Scenery Designer, just a 'dabbler realy :)Anyway, I thought this would be the best place to look for help.Yesterday, I thought I would make a 'Custom' Parking area at the Gatwick, London Terminal. The programs I used were - AFCAD and Rwy12 (plus Fs9).EGKK is the fs9 default version, quite grey and bare. So I went ahead and produced my parking area using AFCAD, also placed an Airport bus nearby using Rwy12. Hi to all,I'm looking for some help to manipulate clouds in memory and other files like the halo etc.If anyone out there thinks they have the skill or knowledge to find ways to move, manipulate or swap these files I'm very interested to know.I did have one guy who said he could do this but that was several months ago now and he delivered NOTHING. Hi all. I'm working on a scenery and have the need to identify the landclass bmp file that covers the area I'm working this scenery in. I used R. Ludowise TCalc2004 v2.0 for this purpose and got the info showned in the attached image.Making a search in FS9 folder, using 001332212221101Su.bmp for keyword, I could not come with any file having this name. I made a search using only 1101Su.bmp as kw. I am having diffulty with the VTP2 textures. I am using 056 Forest and Field which as no autogen but I believe all seasons including winter.I have attached two screen shots showing the difficulty I am having.This area is mid-coast BC and I am wondering if there is some sort of Ocean influence on winter textures showing correctly.I can get spring, summmer and fall showing up with no issue. But winter hard winter I get issues. In the first photo you can see a hard line right through the middle of the texture - snow around airstrip and then now snow at the line. There is no break in the VTP2 poly so I don't know what is causing this.In the second shot, I have the same VTP2…

Hi,This time I want to setup an own fence.Anybody an idea what's going wrong ? Have read a lot and I am stucked completely.Questions:1. Made in PSP an image of a fence: see screenshot (black fence on a white background, or... (white fence on a black background... and what about if I want a black colored fence ?);2. In DXTBmp I loaded this image and put into the Alpha Channel right screen a negative of this fence image... OK ?3. Save as Extended Bitmap in DXT3 format... or as Targa with Alpha ?4. I have the following problem:Installed Aerosoft's Canary Islands and FSPlanet's Canaries VFR. So far, everything is well, FSPlanet's mesh takes over, and the airports from Aerosoft/Sim-Wings are displayed properly, everything works as I want it to.Well, almost:Because of the different elevation data, I now have several airports where hills and some mountains etc. go right through the airport scenery.I assume I need to flatten the terrain at the airports location and even add some additional margin around.The question now is how do I achieve this? Howdy,Have placed a default (Library Object) lighthouse in a local New Zealand scenery that I've complied using BGLComp. However, I've subsequently discovered there is no light beam at night! (which kinda defeats the purpose of having a lighthouse there in the first place). Do I now have to include an attached object or trigger command with the Library Object (and if so, what would it be)? or do default lighthouses not light up at night? Enquiring minds would really like to know. TIA.

Hello all,im starting a scenery project for Mahlon Sweet Field Airport in Eugene, Oregon. However i have never been there and im having a hard time finding photos of the buildings and terminal. My kayak and heat it to...Any thoughts?I've also been playing with VTP photo via SBuilder, but I can't get rid of the seams (which must be related to mips, no?) and I can't get reflections (which must be related to the bmp header info?), so I'd like to do photoreal water (resample.exe) but layer it under my VTP/LWM land...Thanks!

I want to try Luis' program and will be happy to register it for private purposes. It has downloaded and installed okay but will not open.
