    Hi,I have recently got into AFCAD editing and have created my first mod at a regional airport, adding the appropriate taxiways and apron areas.The taxiways etc look great but there are autogen trees in the middle of them. How to I tell FS to stop placing autogen objects in the area around the airport?Thanks in advanceGreg

    Hi everyone,Please forgive me if this is one that has been answered many times before. But, I couldn't find anything through the search engine.My question: Is there a way to string a fence from point A to point B using EZ Scenery without having to place each individual section one at a time? I can't seem to get them all lined up perfectly straight. The result is embarassingly similar to the real fence I put up.Thanks.:-)

  4. HI all. Need some help from folks more versed in scenery than I am. One of my favorite airports is KMRY. I have installed FSGenesis 38m mesh in that region and the airport sits on a plateau and looks...er..silly. I have browsed everywhere and learned that either the scenery or the AFCAD is wrong. But I don't know how to flatten things. There are two AFCADs for the airport--the stock gives it's altitude as 254' and an addon I added also gives its altitude at 254'. FAA charts list 254' and AOPA database lists 257' It seems then that the airport is at the right elev. If you slew to the side of the airport the elevation is 171'.     I'm working on some new sunset and sunrise textures, and was wondering what the top 1st row of pixels does, because it doesn't fit in with the rest of the bitmap. I know the bottom row influneces cloud and haze layer, but I haven't noticed any difference with the 1st row. Scott Armstrong

    I am making photo scenery of Pueblo based on Aerial photography (1 ft scale)I finally found a GERAT source for the photos I need, but I am being asked what scale I need the photographs. As in what zoom in I need. What is the best scale of zoom to get? I think for 4000 feet flying above the city that 1:2000 scale is good, but I want to be sure I do this right.Thanks for any advice. Again the images are 1 foot per pixel.

    Hello!First I have to say that I'm an absolute beginner creating sceneries. I made my first steps using gmax to create gate numbers which shall be placed near the parking gate. After some try and error I managed to create a box object and a text object, assigned tecture to them,..., and finally this first object was successfully placed in my aiport using sbuilder.Now the problem. From the top view the number shows up correctly but from the spot plane view the texture (yellow) of the number is always scattered (see the two pictures).Can somebody tell me in a 'gmax for dummies - style' what I possibly made wrong or what and how to do it better?The second problem I have is t…

  13. I am working on a soon to be released freeware scenery design project (lol, hopefully before FSX overtakes me) that encompasses the entire land area of Mt Rainier Nat'l Park.     Hey, all...Couple of questions here. :)I just now am picking up a scenery project that's been on the ole' shelf for some time, and have run into a couple of probably minor issues. For one, I re-did the textures of a building and instead of using one bitmap, I am utilizing two. One bmp for interior, one for exterior. In gmax all looks good, but in sim after export, it seems that only the interior of the building is textured.Next up, I have forgotten what I set the meters to for the object before it disappears in FS from viewpoint. Is there a way to get this info with a tool that reads bgl files?Thanks!Cameron

    I have just designed a wonderful airport and it all appeeared as it should during design stages and regular checking in the actual FS9 program.However when I returned to the same airport later ALL my taxiways, aprons etc had vanished. I tried various things like changing layers and setting the flatten areas to higher or lower settings to no result. On checking the XML file it is all still there but just NOT visible in the sim.It is as if FS2004 has just written all over my hard work?I would be very grateful as I am now stuck and need some input on this please.   18. Hi all,I was perusing another flight sim site yesterday, and came across a very large file (377 MB) of Thailand scenery. Since I am an avid Thailand scenery designer, I downloaded it to take a look. Imagine my surprise to discover that the work was my own, as well as some scenery made by Jan Martin.Anyway, I emailed the webmaster, and asked that the file be removed. Keep in mind that this isn't a case where someone simply leeched a file from AVSIM, and re-uploaded it. My problem is when I re-create an airport in AFCAD2, my MIL COMBAT & MIL CARGO parking spots are referred to "General Aviation" by ATC.I've recreated Pope Air Force Base. On one ramp, there are parking spots for MIL COMBAT ID'd aircraft. I've selected all of the parking spots and made them "West Parking".     Hi there,Recently, I've been experimenting with custom terrain textures. These are the 4.8m/pixel ones that originally came with the FS2000 SDK. This is not my area of expertise. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these textures are always displayed as complete squares. That is to say, I can't use an alpha channel to allow the normal landclass textures to show through. Any alpha channel will instead show up as water.     I'm not sure how one goes about requesting scenery, but I sure would like to see one for this little up and coming airport. Located about 40 miles north of Houston, TX adjacent to The Woodlands community and the town of Conroe, it has two runways (14/32 & 1/19)and a single ILS on Rwy 14. At present, the field is uncontrolled but will be installing a control tower this October. FAA is not in the business of new control towers due to budget constraints, so it will be a private contractor, typical for these small airports.     Gents-What I want to do is start creating a static aircraft library objects. I will then place the objects into FS via EZ scenery. I know there is currently a file containing some static planes for EZ but I want to create a better looking package and then share it with others. I am planning on getting FSDS as it seems it is easier to use than gmax. All I want to do is create static models with various liveries that look good. So how hard is FSDS in regards to wanting to do this? Will there be a steep learning curve as I have never desgined stuff before. Thanks.

    Not sure if this is the right place to post this..but here goes. Downloaded a new ILS and AFCAD for KMSP. This adds the new 17/35 rwy. Everything is good except, the approach course in the new AFCAD is 345. On the latest set of charts the approach course is 348. I tried to change this in the afcad but no joy. Is there a way to change the approach course to the correct 348? Contacted the author of these files but have received no response. Thanks for the help.Joe
