Hi all i am making a scenery for LHSK Siofok Kiliti, and tha afcad and object placement is ready, but i have no idea how to convert a raw image file into bgl, with LWMviewer i have made a 257*257 RAW file, and it also created the data file for it, but now im stuck i have no idea how tomake a bgl or something useable from this, any help would be welcome, thanks...

Hello everyone!I'm attempting to add concrete parking pads to many gravel airports in Northern Ontario (used so you don't have to fire up on gravel). I'm know pretty much nothing about scenery design except for using AfCad. I find that adding helipads simulates these concrete pads very well, however they obviously don't have a big H on them. They basically have no markings except for a pinkish red border. I edited helo2.bmp in the FS9/Texture folder to what I think looks pretty good, yet in FS, it still appears as before I edited it. Does anyone know where the actual texture for the helipads is kept, and if this is actually it, why it didn't update in the sim? Thanks!Jeff

I have some effects and I have placed them on some aprons and ramp areas with light poles behind them. What line in the effect file will allow me to move the hotspot/center out toward the edge so it will look more like the light illumination is falling off in intensity?J-

Hello folks,Not too long ago i downloaded KFLL from the avsim library.I really enjoy flying to that airport , However my FPS really decreases as i approach to the airport.This situation is unacceptable and i really want to improve the performence by reducing the texture and overall scenery quality.My question is how can i perform such a thing , if you possible please tell me what programs to get and the whole procedure to lower the quality of all the scenery.P.S - file name is kfllver1_2.zipThanks ,Steve.

I'm trying to edit airports to make them more accurate (airports near my home town and where I go to college). I'm suing AFCAD and have it down to photo real according to the pilots who fly at my college but it has a few flaws. I can't get the terminal set up in the right spot. Is there a way I can edit the scenery for the ENTIRE airport instead of just the runways and taxiways like I have done with AFCAD? Can you point me in the correct direction for the products that would allow me to do this?Thanks,Medic

Since some folks were having problems with my first release, I have made up a new package v1.1 it is now available for download from the file library. This package contains the missing textures which were causing freezes and CTD for some users.Also, some extras like fire lookout towers and other cosmetic adjustments. All new approach to installation as well.cheers.

Hi folks -I have a question that maybe can't be answered yet but here it goes:Based on the information released so far there are two things I can tell regarding FSX: 1) The way FSX will access data and use textures will allow for the use of FS9 textures in FSX. 2)That FSX will likely have increased settings for Autogen. I am wondering if existing FS9 textures (ie. BEV/GE) are used in FSX will they allow the increased Autogen to show or will they only show the max amount allowed in FS9 ? I am not too familiar with the Autogen SDK so any comments or best guesses are appreciated. :)

I am new to scenery designing and want to start my first project, which is an improved landclass file for a specific area in South Africa.I have Landclass Assistant installed and own a donwloaded freeware africa land class bgl, which is quite good but not good enough.Now instead of having to retile a whole grid (Landclass Assistant's standard approach) would it not be possible to just use the existing bgl file and to replace only the wrong lc values with more appropriate ones?I have tried in vain to decompile the bgl into a raw file which could then be opened and worked on in landclass assistant. Hi Guys,I hope this is the appropriate forum to ask the following question. I am currently (slowly) developing a dispatch software for FS and would like to extract terrain elevation along a specific route (As a sort of a GRID MORA for FS:-)). Is this possible? It happens that some unfortunate user will suddenly find his favorite airport chock full of trees, obstructing runways, taxiways, and ramps, making flight somewhat more challenging.The experienced members of this forum will immediately recognize the dread "missing AB" problem. This is where the grass skirting underlying the airport has somehow been misplaced, thereby allowing the land class to display its autogen.This skirting, or airport background, is to be found in the AB files. Well, another question fellas. I do scenery with ScenGenX,what is the best way for members in my VA ,upon recieving my files,place them in the addon scenery/Scenery. Can i send them a certain way for them to place in their Addon scenery with a read me text or they do it a certain way,i seem to be creating great confusion amongs them,lol.Just need some advise please,thanks Patrick.:-)

Hi,What would be the best way to exclude part of an add-on scenery, other than contacting the original author?For example, the excellent Mosher scenery for CYQM was created when the old terminal was still used. They have included the new terminal in the scenery, but blocked off the taxiways to the new terminal with vehicles and fences. Since is now in use, I'd also like to use it in FS2004 by masking the taxiway obstructions.I have tried creating a small exclude file in Airport for Windows and adding it to the scenery library at a higher level than the scenery I want to mask, but this does not seem to work. I have also tinkered with several different tools to decompile…

Hi,I wrote a post requesting information on an idiots guide to making effects a few weeks ago. I never got back due to work commitments but thanks for the replies.I have now mastered a lot of the effects stuff however, I have one last question. I have placed an effect on the ground which I want to repeat however, currently the effect goes once and that is it unless I fly from the area and return.Could someone please tell me how to make the effect repeat itself, preferably randomly but, if not an assigned time would do the job.Ta.

I tried to attach library objects and effects to a library object yesterday, but bglcomp complains. Beacons work fine, but library objects and effects don't seem to compile. (I tried old and new version).It seems as if bglcomp checks if library objects and effects are nested in scenery objects. If they are nested in atteched objects, bglcomp bails out. There seems to be no obvious fix, since the xsd grammar seems to be correct. This is hardcoded.Anyone else got it to work?Cheers, Christian

Hello I'm working on my first ever terrain mesh, which is to fix elevation levels along the African coastline near Abijan - airport code DIAP. The elevation of the coast in the MSFS scenery is much too high - around 200 feet. I've download some DEM data as HGT files from here- ftp://e0srp01u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/version2/Africa/ - and using replace.exe from the MSFS SDK, the results look good except for two problems. 1. The lagoons behind the coastline are stuck at around 200 feet altitude. I've found I can use FLATTEN to lower the altitude, but is there a way to do this using the terrain mesh data?2. There are a few places in the DEM data which go below zero altitude. MSFS …

I'm new to making scenery for FS2004, so please bear with me...I am making a photo-realistic scenery of my local airport. It has a C-130 installed as a static display near the entrance. I could not find an object library with a C-130, but I do have a flyable C-130 in FS2004. My question is, is there a way to take an aircraft (model, textures, etc) and convert that to an object library (BGL) that can be placed using EZ-Scenery? Many thanks.

I am new to this forum and scenery design. Have two newbie questions.1)If when I open an airport in afcad and it lists a runway as having Ils, but when I fly into that airport FS ATC never lists it as anything but visual does that mean that an approach is not included in the bgl file. 2) If this is the case. Having read bgl sdk and various posts on this forum, I think I can manage the xml, but I am unsure of where in the file to put the approach section. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Hi all:I have posted this in the general forum but with no replies yet:I am writing this because I seem to have lost the landing fog intermitent lights of an airport (GCXO). I am almost sure that some time ago the red and white poles of the attached screenshot had an intermitent illumination for fog approaches (I don't know the technical name for that). The problem is that I may have changed something and now I can't seem them.So my question is in which part of an scenery lies the ability of showing that type of lights to try to guess what I can have missing on it.Thanks.

Ive gone through post after post and tried everything.Ive redirected to FS9, reinstalled the tdfMacros.In older projects the line column shows up.Lately all my new projects are grayed out. When I go back to old projects the line column is fine.Im lost now.Ive even gone back and did a fresh G2k install with Antivirus shut down.Still nothing.When I got a white screen I typed in the line number I wanted and when complied, it did not display in the line text.Any ideas?http://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif

I'm working with Hamilton Airport. Using G2k5.3 as well redoing it with Sbuilder. Same issue.When creating a poly of the outer airport proper, all is good.I give it layer 6.I draw within it a new poly representing grass that is kept maintained. Layer 11.Problem!!!The polys are bleeding well over the detail created in G2k.See attached LWM viewer which shows the project correct.Image2 shows top down and the red lines represent where the textures bleed over. Help! I'm trying to grasp the LOD concept. I have a group of parked cars. I create a dummy object and name it Parking_LOD_100. I attach all cars to this dummy object. I duplicate dummy and call it Parking_LOD_050. I select half the cars and attach to second dummy. I export and save and go see. When I open FS2004, the cars I had selected to keep are gone and the ones I thought would go away are still there. What am I missing? Thanks.
