Took A ScreenShot Of Created Scenery-Shuts Down FS9 NowA couple of weeks ago I made some very basic scenery using EZ Scenery for KCRW. I just replaced the terminal and added four jetways. Simple and basic, and of course an exclude file to exclude default terminal. The scenery was always OK until someone requested a screenshot. Now even with the added scenery off if I am within 20 miles of KCRW FS9 goes away bang. Not the usual slow shutdown we are used too. I replaced from the original disks all the files in the folder titled Name. This folder is within the MAIN scenery folder. I figured that it stood for North America East. No change. I am using sbuilder to make some scenery for fs2004. I am trying to place a vtp2 poly using a stock assembled grass texture. When in game I can see my texture on the left fine. But on the right the stock scenery has some rock texture that keeps showing up on top of my grass texture. I have tried changing the layer of the grass many times including setting it to 80. Is there a trick to getting my grass to show on top of the rock?

I hope someone can helpI had several days into a project when my pc rebooted itself while G2K5.4 was running. Now when I open my project I get a runtime 62 error as seen in the pic.I can access all other projects except the one I had open when the pc rebooted. Howdy. I've made scenery objects (using fsds2). Using the light_landing name has produced flood lights. I'm trying to do the same thing with V3, but the flood light effect does not show. I'vee compiled direct to bgl and via mdl and xml with the same result, no beam. I know there was an issue using the makemdl.exe, but I'm not sure exactly what the cure was. Any sugesstions?Thank,

Prior to the new mesh, I had FSGlobal SE mesh, in which the lake is raised up, but the moutains to the side of it are at the same level. I'm not sure, but from my understanding of the Konigsee - the lake you see, both lakes are pretty level.So why is this happening? Is the altitude of the lake wrong, thus streatching the mesh below it to meet it (I didn;t think it wirked like that, though), or is it simply a mesh thing. Funny though that both meshes are prob…

Hi, Have read a lot. Using SBuilder or Terrain SDK ?As I see that my grass textures are not displayed in FS9 (I run FS2002 and made this polygon with AFW 2.6) I think it's better to make the poly or plane in GMAX.Question: can I make this poly with the use of coordinates only ? Hello,I have just started using AFCAD to modify my home airport, KAKR. I was able to shape and place the polygons where I wanted them. However, the autogen trees and houses still appear in one corner of the airfield. I was able to use ExcBuilder to exclude the objects that I did not want. I just cannot seem to get rid of unwanted Autogen.I saw a similar thread to this awhile back and tried to follow the advice which was given to that gentleman. Unfortunately, I am still not able to get any results. I downloaded SceneGenX, SBuilder, Ground2K, and the MS FS9 SDK. Several years ago, someone came up with a suggestion for making autogen show only trees, and nothing else. I can't remember if it was a cfg edit, texture edit, or through some other means, but I was wondering if anyone recalls? I like flying with Autogen trees maxed, but don't care for the buildings, etc... Tks,John

I am a bit confused regarding creating textures for Gmax/FS9.If I create a image for a building in Photoshop or PSP do I have make an image for each side of the building & the roof & how detailed does it need to be? One tutorial I read just said 'create an image in a graphics editor'.I feel that things are a lot more complex than when I created my home village for use in FS6. I think I only used 3 programs to do it & even tho' I say this myself it was quite real looking.Thanks for any help/adviceAlan

This is a modeling program from Amabilis with a free version available to get you started, but limited export features; plus a commercial 'pro' version for those who decide to build and export to particular games. Under the list of games which are supported in the pro version, mention is made of flightsim 2002, but not 2004. I wonder if anyone has tried 3D Canvas for FS, and could respond with some comments. Apparently, although a bit of a learning curve, it is considered easier to master than Gmax and might be an alternative to those of us Gmax-challenged designers!

does anyone know what the best and most complete afcad for yyz is as of april o6, ??does anyone know if there is an " afcad engine" out there that checks for most recent afcads or potential updates, is there a good central source As I see it one needs to search for each airport or group of airports in the libraries.Any info on this?

I have made the AFCAD for 11/29 with appropriate taxiways etc, but I am stuck on how to get rid of all the buidlings trees, houses that now liter the area. Anyone know how to acomplish this? I have looked through the how to section and am lost. Thanks!

Hi everyone,If you fly online on IVAO or VATSIM and you want to fly in to Czech republic exactly on LKPR We have new scenery for download here:http://lkpr2004.wz.czin this scenery is included new AFcad files , is recommended use this scenery for online flying,because is very possible conflict with other users with have different scenery especially is problem with position of parking space in AFCAD files. If you use this new scenery is highly recommended that you TURN OFF in your realism setting conflict with other objects.Pls no editing AFCAD file !!!

Excuse me if this is the wrong forum. I couldn't find one that seemed more apt.I have a question regarding AFCAD's. I have installed George Grimshaw's amazing KBOS scenery and noticed that with the AFCAD he supplied AI will hold short of a runway if either a plane is taking off or landing on that runway it wishes to cross. However, I don't get this kind of behavior at all airports, my Heathrow AFCAD allows AI to cross regardless.I downloaded a new KBOS AFCAD last night and this allows AI to cross occupied runways. I cannot see anything in the AFCAD editor that shows a difference between the ones that do and the ones that don't. So I'm really curious how you set it up so t…

Hi all.Was hoping someone might be able to show how to solve a wee problem with a scenery I'm working on where the reference point of the scenery is functioning as the active runway on start up. In other words, when I go to the airport (without selecting a specific runway end or park position), it opens with the aircraft at the reference point position rather than at one end of the runway as is normally the case with the default airports in FS9.The scenery consists of an AFCAD file that contains all the airport info, and a SGX file with some generic buildings but no airport information. Can anyone tell me how to acces the library objects with rwy12 from within ScenegenX? I have rwy12 installed and want to try and use the objects from rwy in my sceneries. ScenegenX has a dropdown menu in the create3D object screen with "RWY12 Objects" but I guess im not sure how to make it so that SGX can see the objects or the libraries.Thx.Hornit

I posted this on scenerydesign.org so please ignore it if you've responded on there. I just need more eyes looking at this one. Recently, a user of my photoreal scenery has complained to me that, with my scenery loaded, he gets errors in compass readings at airports far out of the Phoenix area such as KSEA. Logic would dictate that, even if I had magvar errors in one of the airport files for the Phoenix area, it would only show up locally. I've looked into the XML for all the AFCAD files I've distributed and the magvar settings seem reasonable and match the code in the original .bgl's that AFCAD extracted the info from.
