Hello,This is my first post here and I am happy to be among you.I am not very experienced in scen design, though I have managed to make a few mods and many afcad2 files.I have a question:Through afcad2, I modified an airfield,ID52 Bowman in Idaho, and gave it the works--frequencies, runway, aprons, gates, ramps etc.I also have FSSC (Flight Simulator Scenery Creator, and I have managed to make an island with it off Athens, Greece.) But when I tried to add some buildings into ID52 Bowman (the one made with afcad)I could not manage it. Is that possible with FSSC and if yes, can anyone give me a few basic steps to start?Any help will be appreciated.Nick

using afcad to modify an aiRfielDs i see it puts the modification in the C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Addon Scenerysceneryfolder as af2_ICAO.bgl I SEE that the bases modified by ultimate traffic and my traffic also reside there. if i want my modification to be used do i need to remove the F1UT_ICAO.bgl and the MY_ICAO.bgl where the ICAO is the same?

I have been experimenting with Ground2K version 4 and CFS2. It works pretty well except that I have not been able to get the textured VTP 1 polygons to work. It always comes out as an area sized rectangle (when my poly was round) and green regardless of the texture selected. I've used it in FS2002 and it works great. Does anyone know if they work in CFS2 before I spend 20 hours figuring it out for myself?

Hello guys.I know this may not be the best place to put this, and if you know a better place, please say so.But yesterday I bought abacus ez scenery with the aspiration that I could make a few bucks selling some of my custom scenery.I know how to model but I dont know how to place those objects in game.EZ scenery looked like it was everything I needed. So I bought it.My registration key arrived but when I went to register it, that is when my problems arrived.My whole screen went black but I was able to register it by minimizing FS, and the registration form appeared. I want to place some roads on my airport scenery using sbuilder. But thay always look blurry on the edges. Is there a way to place some roads and have sharp edges? I want to have roads that look like proper roads what I get look like a walking trail to me. This might be a restriction of FS9 but I am hoping that it can be done.

I am having problems getting LWMDraw5 to work with CFS2. I test the files with FS2002 and they work fine. From reading Richard Ludowise's great tutorial, it looks like all I should have to do is replace the LWMPoly2 command with LWMPoly1 and trim off the last two parameters, and replace the LWMFileHeader 513 with LWMFileHeader 256. This is obviously not the case since the source files work great with FS2002 but nothing shows up in CFS2. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi,this is my first try to scenery design. I tried to do some modifications to LDZA, my hometown airport(Zagreb Pleso Intrenational airport, Croatia). So I managed to add a few static aircrafts and some other objects with RWY12 and I decided to add some new terminal buildings, new tower and remove default ones.This is where my problem with ExcBuilder starts. I downloaded program from the AVSIM library with tutorials and downloaded BGLCOMP SDK and MSXML 4.0 from Microsoft. I have also downloaded FSconnect required for communication with FS and installed all these programs as described in installation files and tutorial. One of the chief complaints of addons like UT which add dense residential roads is the near complete loss of autogen in urban areas.After reading Luis' post in the beginners' thread, I have been experimenting with edits of terrain.cfg to attempt to prevent exclusion of autogen by roads with little success. It seems logical to me that editing the roads section such that each road entry reads "ExcludeAutogen=0" should do the trick. Additionally, for roads that have associated vector autogen objects, editing the exclude range for each autogen entry to read "ExclusionWidth=0" should completely correct this issue, but I see little change. I have read a great deal and learned much from these forums, and I am grateful for the information.I have for the past couple of days attempted, with little success, to "optimize" Monastir 2005 - Tunisia by Christoph Schipke, Bernhard Kulisch, Frank Seifert. You can grab that scenery here at AVSIM for free. A great scenery, however, when the terminal area is in focus my FPS drops to 10 or sometimes lower. Hi Folks,One question. Can objects created using FSDS v3 be used by Library Creator XML to create object libraries for use with Rwy12?As a test, using FSDS, I've created a simple textured object, then under the Create FS Object File options, I created a Scenery Object mdl file.After that I followed the tutorial, "Converting Gmax files to work with RWY12" using the xml file created with FSDS.I've tried twice and can't get the library to show up in Rwy12. I'm guessing that either the FSDS scenery object isn't compatible or I'm making a mistake somewhere in the tutorial. Which is it? I'd greatly appreciate any help.Doc G

Hi folksUsing LWM and AFCAD apron polys to model a platfom on which a runway partly sits, I cannot get straight lines. It looks very much like G2k4 or FS9 don't "antialias" lines and render them as a wave. Have sny of you a clue on how to straigthen things up (pun intended) ? thanks in advance

I have this generic bridge gen_bridge07, totally misplaced in my FaroeIsland scenery. I can`t remove it with an exclude file. I have tried to deactivate all sceneries except default and the bridge is still there. So it is not from an addon scenery. How can I get rid of it?

Is there a programme I can use to create bgl files from flatten information (rather than have flatten lines in the scenery.cfg file), in the same way thatExcBuilder does for 'excludes'?Martin

I have created a few airports alrady, but everytime I make a brand new one the airport scenery seems to hover over the ground scenery even though both are at the same altitude. I have used a flatten tool to flatten the terrain around the airport, but the airport textures and the ground textures aren't bound together. How do I bind them?

Very important of course in N America, (also Radio frequencies)I have always used FSSC for this, it has the ability to place bitmap on the ground and either make it visible in FS or not. It works very well with a DXT1 bitmap. FSSC is not the easiest of programs to get an accurate postion unless you are prepared to get out a pencil and paper and carefully plot the position, and a bit of trial and error for the heading.I have tried other programs but none seem to be able to place a bitmap over a runway...Anyone?Geoff

I have written a number of scenery files quite successfully, but have come across an unusual problem.1. I created the AF2*.bgl file with AFCAD (runway only) & saved it to the addon scenery/scenery folder for a location in Western Australia.2. Started FS9 & use Go To airport & the sim loads OK but there is no sign of the runway?I haven't had this problem before - can anyone suggest where I have goofed?Peter

Hi guys, I'm really impressed by what i see here. The talent is just amazing. I've started to get into scenery design. And i'm wondering which paths should i take. 1.EZ-scenery.Simple but payware. Not sure about its limitations. Can further improve library with downloads and FSDS.2.Gmax and FS SDK. Not too sure about this method regarding placement of scenery.Seems quite complicated but very powerful and most importantly.Free.I'm hoping to venture really far and into very complicated scenery. I'm trying to remake Tooma Reservoir at -35.964806 148.390260 and I'm running into a familiar old problem. I've left the old coastline in so you can see what's going on.The old lake was defined at a lower level. It's wiped out the underlying satelite grid. I don't know if I should try to exclude the old flatten area, or redefine the grid. Anyone know?Che

Hi allIs there a way to join API macros? I work with EOD for objects and FSSC for placement.To give an example of what I want to do: I have created something like a torch in EOD. Now I want to put a "fire" on top of it. I converted an effect to a fire-macro using fs-effects. Off course I could place the torch and the fire individually in FSSC. this works fine for flat areas but the fires "float" and don't change their position with the torch if the groundlevel is altered.I do think I could actually just join the two api-text-files, adding the fire-api to the right spot, but I have no clue how to do this.help is appreciated.cheers & thanks
