I am wondering if I can delete just the FS default gates at KORD, KSEA, and such?In the past, I have been creating exclude files to achieve this goal, but it can be quite a pain in the you know what creasting excludes.Any suggestionsBrian C

I've been working on the local airport (KSEE, El Cajon, CA). I'm using Afcad, and have noticed that the alignment of the texture 'tiles' seems fixed. In the pic below the joint lines in the concrete should line up with the taxiway. Hi all.I've got a problem with G2K4. It's an an intermintant fault with VTP ground polys whereby they fail to allow the autogen to resolve. In other words, what happens is that I place a ground poly (one drawn from the default ground tiles) and compile the scenery. In FS I can see the poly, but the autogen's been stripped from it.I'm using V5.33, with the 5.4 INI file.Any ideas?Cheers,Matthew.

Over the last few months, I have noticed that a number of developers new sceneries shimmer. This is a problem I have never noticed before.Recently the new Mega Frankfurt Airport runways and taxiways shimmer, Aerosoft always produce excellent Airports. Preiously EDDS and EDDM have been fantstic no shimmers at all !Also, Flytampa's KSFO (even with the new textures shimmer terribly), and yet KMIA is superb.Just wondering, as I am a complete novice can anybody help and offer a simple solution to stop the shimmering?Many thanks and Best Wishes,Happy New Year!ChrisEGBB ~ UK

Hello again all!!Thank you for the responses before, and thank you in advance for patience too...I am working on my home airport: KCVG, which has a new runway (36L/18R) that was completed last month and I am adding it to MSFS. I have already added the runway and taxiways with the wonderful and intuitive AFCAD. I attempted to exclude all the default scenery using ExcBuild, since it was cluttering up the taxiways and runways. Now that I have the .bgl files for the exclusions, where do they go? The tutorial says to put them in the addon scenery/scenery folder(since i am only modifying the default KCVG). How do I see the changes in MSFS? I know how to add other add-on scenery…

I want to set the 'scenery complexity' slider from 'Normal' to 'Sparse', but when I do so I also lose an addon scenery on an airfield that I want to keep.My question: is there a way to keep the addon scenery active whilst the scenery complexity slider is on sparse?Thanks in advance for an answer.FransSystem WinXP, FS9.1

The Fifth Tutorial using Sbuilder. This one looks at how to make FS9 library objects available in Sbuilder so that you can add them to your scenery. It uses an EZ-Scenery library as an example but the information is relevant to any FS9 library. Hi all.I've a problem getting LWMviewer2 going and was hoping someone might be able to help out.I'm getting an error about an ATL71.DLL file missing. I can't see the DLL in any of the LWMviewer2 installation folders, so I'm sure what I'm doing wrong. I've simply unziped the utility and moved the LWMviewer2 folder into the Programs directory and made an Shortcut of the exe file. Double clicking on the exe file produces the aforementioned error.If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.Cheers,Matthew.

I haveing a problem With my Exclude area not working. Hi Everyone,A question for the scenery gurus among the group...Take a look at these autogen "building" objects below... These particular atrocities show up at nearly every small airport I have. I have the sliders all the way up and don't want to compromise by lowering autogen. It is a shame since I have several add-ons like AEU that replace the autogen textures and make the quality of these pale in comparison. Unfortunately these weren't replaced by my texture addons and still exist. I spent several hours tonight going through texture folders to no avail..Generic, addon, Nawe etc....Can't seem to match them anywhere. :-(Does anyone know a tool or trick to locate the text…

Hello all, and sorry for the very amateur question but here goes:I just used AFCAD to add rwy 36L/18R to my home airport (KCVG) along with all taxiways, etc...now, how do i clear the scenery from around the addition. Right now there are trees, etc, in the runway and all I need to do is extend the airport "cleared" boundary to include the new runway. Links to other posts or direct help would be much appreciated. I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing an update to NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA? I have never messed with the design stuff and I am a little weary of trying. I am just asking because there is a new tower, the runways have been re-done and now has only F/A-18 Super Hornets. I have some pictures (Of Pictures) of over heads and I will be allowed to take some from all angels of the new tower if needed.I know this is a "What can you do for me" kind of post but I just don't know how to do it. Thanks for any and all help.If anyone desided to do this, I'll send the pictures.

Hi to All,When you load an IFR plan where FS9 locates the file/s that ATC will use to drive the plane to destination?I found sometimes during flight that the ATC uses wrong centers and I'm wondering whether some correction it's possible to apply on those files.

Standard resolution for photos is 4.3m/pixel.I know that with Sbuilder this can be increased to as high as 1.2m/pixel.Does anyone know how products such as MegaScenery can achieve resolutions as high as 1ft/pixel ~ .6m/pixel?

I have never had the oppurtunity to design or fiddle with the scenery in any FS version, except for using AFCAD to edit the parking, taxi and runways information for some smaller airports, thats all I know.However, at some airports to which I fly regularly it is starting to irritate me to no end that there are buildings where they should not be, and absolutely nothing where there should be something, like ramps, hangars and other buildings.I have been looking at scenery design programs, for example EZ-Scenery from Abacus. I would like to update Microsoft's model for my local airport Saratoga County 5B2. The current model is not accurate and does not include the North American Aviation area as well as the GA hangers. In addition, I would like to exclude the autogen objects so that I can place the correct tree line that surrounds the airport. What is the best way to accomplish the new model? I know that I will have to use AFCAD to correct the taxiways and such. How do I update the tree line, the correct hangers and support buildings? Rway 12 program, EZ Scenery, Airport for Windows? I am confused as to which one would work the easiest and best. Any assitance is appreciated.

Hello,I've been trying to get my BGL Complier to work. It has not. It comes up with a very quick command prompt screen and then the screen blanks out. This takes less than 1/5 of a second. I have MSMXL 4.0. What am I doing wrong?

I'm a little bit puzzled by water appearing in my landclass scenery developed with ground 2k4. I've been working on a Phillip Island scenery but in two places it looks like this:The water is occuring where the LWM land poly crosses a land tile boundary in both places. I've checked that the tile is properly excluded and done everything else that I can think of. What's going on?The little island is even more puzzling since it's off the coast of Coffs Harbour and I don't think there's any other scenery out there to conflict with. Che

Hi all,I've just posted another new build with more fixes (list below). I'm going to be on holiday for a couple of weeks, so this one will have to stand for a while. Do still post here or mail me if you have any comments - I can't fix it if I don't know it's broken :)Many thanks to those who are giving me feedback on their progress with this! I'm designing my own trees for my scenery in GMAX. One side appears darker due to the lighting engine in FS. I notice that the FS autogen trees are not darker on the 'shady' side. My trees look exactly like autogen on the 'sunny' side. So, is it possible to acheve this...can I make my model so that it is equally lit on all sides?Sorry for the wordy phrasing.Adam

This is the first time that I have tried using BMP2000, and in fact the first time trying to edit textures, so please bear with me.The original bmp is 43k in size.I load it as an Extended Bitmap and BMP2000 says its "Extended Bitmap 16 x 565.I then double click on the large window in BMP2000 to bring the image into my editor (PSP v7).After editing in PSP, I save the image and then click Update in BMP2000.Then I click Save Extended Format Bitmap and save the file to my new texture folder.However, the saved texture is 171k in size and not as per the original 43k !Can someone, used to using BMP2000, please advise me where I am going wrong?Regards,Stuart Hyett
