I am currently working on a new panel for the VFW-614 with all gauges representative of the operational planes when they flew.I am currently working on the Airspeed Gauge and I have everything working fine except the Mach meter. The VFW-614 had a rotating Mach dial which was exposed in a window on the left side of the gauge and a set of fixed pointers. I have tried to treat the dial as a needle and have tried to point the dial so that the correct mach number appears lined up with the pointers. So far I have been unable to do this. It may be that I don't understand how the mach number is formated. Anyone have any tips or suggestions?Kim Simmelink(Project Freeware, ret…

Hello every one looking for a bit of helpI have been working on a victa airtourer model for some time now and i am having a bit of trouble with the export. I am using 3DSmax 8 and exporting to a .x file which I am then compiling with makeMDL for FS9. The problem i am having is that when i compile the model and load it in FS9 95% of the parts become invisible (its not alway whole parts sometimes some polys of the fuselage show). The problem it is not that the normals have invented as i have fixed those problems and this only occur if all the parts are linked under a dummy object or grouped together. If the model is unlinked or ungrouped then the model shows up fine but i …

Anyone here have any idea how a C gauge could talk to a Delphi created EXE in FS? I'd like one of my gauges to be able to send a command to the EXE.I thought about having the EXE listen for keypresses transmitted from the gauge, but I've learned that sending keypresses from gauges can become a royal pain because other app's can intercept the keypress.Windows Shell Execute in a C gauge?Bryan

I have been using a merge of the 50N B737 models with Feelthere panel in FSX. Everything works OK except the wingviews. Please see the attached screenshot. I did play arounn with views entries in panel.cfg and also with camera definitions in order the wingviews were closer to the aircraft nose but I got unsatisfatory results. Can anyone point me out the correct procedure to bring these wingviews closer, that is, in such a way I can see better the engine? Thanks!Edmundo http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/178768.jpg

Hi,I dont know if that has been asked a hundred times before, but:I use several models for AI traffic and some of them as player-a/c on my aging laptop when I have to travel.Among them is the DC-8-61-Model by Dee Waldron, that looks great for the polycount given. But some of the animations r wrong, specially the left aileron moves on a wrong rotation-axis. Is there any way to fix that by "hacking" the mdl-file? I remember back from the days of FS95 that animations could be added to an existing mdl, so there should be a way to change existing animations using a hex- or even a binary editor. I just dont know how. And befor I take on the task of analyzing the mdl, what is pa…

I'm wanting to smooth out the autopilot when in a HDG-NAV intercept mode. The scenerio is that when within 5nm of the desired GPS Track (DTK), the ap will command an aileron roll towards the DTK, and when within 2.5 nm control will be handed over to NAV/GPSS (GPS Steering mode).Using the algorithim below, up to 90

I have a panel thet has several subpanels. When I click on the Simicon to open the subpanel some of the subpanels appear behind the main panel and some appear in front of the main panel. If I click on the portion of the subpanel that shows it will jump to the front of the main panel. What controls the way the subpanels show? Why do some appear in front and some in the rear of the main panel? How can I fix it? Thanks, regards, Bob.

Hi all,I recently ran into a very strange bug in my panel and I couldn't find a solution so far. Maybe someone else also had this problem before and this rings a bell ?Description of the set-up- I have a panel with one big C/C++-multigauge with something like 90 gauges inside- Panel has both a CPT and a FO view- I re-use some of the same gauges in both views, e.g. my autopilot and Autothrottle gauges, other gauges are separate since they are also independent in real lifeProblem- The problem I have has to do with the autothrottle gauge, this gauge has a SPD mode which will ARM the FS AUTOTHROTLE and will also activate the AIRSPEED_HOLD mode of the autopilot- This works fin…

I recently bought a payware, twin engine Recip acft. It had several "glitches" in it and I have worked thru those that I could correct; i.e. CFG entries. However I have no expertise in the mdl file but I have a problem that I

Ok... here's a challenge. *sigh*In a GPS Direct To flight plan there are only 2 waypoints. One can not simply draw a straight line from point a to point b and see the navigation track. It has to be rendered in an arc because it follows a great circle.I've yet to figure out how to accomplish this math-wise. Anyone have ideas/suggestions/info?

Hello. While trying to merge the Ready for Pushback 747 panel with the POSKY 747v4 models in FSX, I found that the autopilot gauge causes massive fuel consumption (like from 100% to 0% in 2 minutes). The gauge is written in an older format that FS Panel Studio cannot fully decode. Is there a program that can fully open older FS2002 gauges for editing so I can see if I can fix the problem?

I try to search to find some answer for legal and copyright material about aircraft panel and livery.I find only one topic but it dosen' t answer deep enough to my question, of course you will all advice me to ask to a lawyer, but maybe a lot's of people can have some suggestion. So here my question.I want to create a payware aircraft let's say a 733.If I create a 2D Panel from scratch without using any real photo, a virtual cockpit, and a 3D aircraft have i to ask the authorization from Boeing to sell it and what about if the company as close? For the livery package this for sure is a copyright stuff but it should clarify one day or another and the best is to let people cr…

I'm seeing a lot of new single engine personal jets being advertise lately, and I wondering if the add-on world will start to develop any. As I know nothing about how to create planes, panels and sounds I thought I would poss the questions to the talented folks at avsim. Thanks!

Hello I've been wanting to add low and high G vapor effects to this awesome add-on. After a couple of days experimenting I think I've broke some kind of ground. I'm trying to get the effect to manifest on the leading edge of the fuselage strakes during high and low G turns. I have done it but it manifests itself further back than I want it to. Anyone have any idea on this? possibly a solution? Thank you! AL

Hi, I want to change the radio stack in my Maule to the default one, as I think the one in it sucks. I have successfully made the radio from the default radio stacks to the 2d panel, but in the virtual cockpit, it does not fit. Do you know how you would make it fit? Also, if someone could help me with this, this might make me stop from changing the VC stack, how does the GPS work on the radio stack, it says like Press ENT to hold alt, and guess what, you hit enter,a dn nothing happens. One more thing to ask is why does it now have a sound for ywhen you starte the master battery. Any help appreciated!

Is it possible to attach fx to a node in an FS9 aircraft model? I have never succeeded doing this although I believe it has been done. What I want to do is attach a smoke fx to an animated part of the aircraft, so it cannot be done with the lights or smoke system in aircraft.cfg. /Tom

This is what I'm working on now:http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k282/Ben...cs/NX-01/01.jpgI'm also building a 1/350 scale version complete with onboard lights. Will be very cool when finished. So in addition to helping me with the shape, I'm getting to play with timer circuits etc. =)

Since we now have a round'ish earth and an altitude ceiling 1/12th the way to the moon, I'm wondering if we could put a satelite in orbit. =)This brings up the question of does the world turn. My guess is no, that we are dealing with a pre-copernician universe. But, it might be interesting to try. Although we might be limited to either geo-syncronous or orbits which lack the Earth's rotation, it might be fun to play with anyway.I propose a space race to see who can orbit the Earth first, since darn it we can't yet go to the moon. =)Thoughts?

Hi all %{loop} %(l1 (>@c:FlightPlanWaypointIndex)) {clr2}{fnt2}%((@c:FlightPlanWaypointRemainingTotalDistance,nmiles) @DistAdj + )%!03d!%(l1 ++ s1 l2 <) The macro changes the value in the selected WaypointIndex remaining distance fields OK but it can only change one. If you select and change another it puts the correct value in the new field and removes the last value. Is it possible to add more than one value to the loop fields.

found a nice effect; fx_104g_aniburner.fx that FILIPPO ZARDINI posted as a replacement for part of the cloud9 f104 afterburner routine.it shows a lighted and spining rear turbine stage visable from the rear at the exhaust nozzle. the thing is, i can switch it on and off with a switch just fine...Click or click event. repeated as often as you care to, no problem...so long as it is a click.(logo, wing, any light...set up in cfg.) and it turns on once and turns off once using logic.when using logic to turn it on again (other then 1st time) it goes nuts! and it takes out all the light effects near it. (though the reason escapes me, it seems to move forward and pull adjasent eff…
