I am taking a piston engine plane and updating it to turbo prop power. I ran it though airwrench, then manually deleted the old [piston engine] section of the cfg file, and updated the sounds (aliased to Kingair) and updated the gauges on the panel. The panel shows what's happening visually and performace wise...Prop RPM=0000??!? Anyone have any ideas? I have AirEd as well, so if there is something to change in there I can do it if I know what it is....In the meantime, here's my aircraft.cfg[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]max_gross_weight=37500.0empty_weight=22833.00000reference_datum_position= 0.000, 0.000, 0.000empty_weight_CG_position= 2.000, 0.000, 0.000max_number_of_stations=9…

Thought I'd pass these along: a) When in poly create mode, where you click counter-clockwise to create a 4-sided polygon, if you double click on the 3rd vertex, Max will complete the poly for you! :( To PAN the camera (as you likely know), you can drag the middle mouse button, but if you hold ALT then drag, you will rotate! You probably know you can zoom with the mouse wheel too.Lastly: c) If you create a material that has it's opacity animated from 0 to 100 over 5 frames, you can apply this "modeling material" to your parts and then make them as transparent as necessary simply by scrubing the slider. :DEnjoy!Patrick

Hi all (A:GPS WP DESIRED TRACK,degrees) (A:GPS WP BEARING,degrees) - abs Gives the angle deviation each side of flightplan track direct to the waypoint. This works great till the deviation angle passes through 360 and the bearing numbers increase 360. Is there another way of doing this.

Hi, since FSX don't support kneeboard use as a internet browser like FS9 does I was wondering a way to make separate (child) window inside FSX to use as a charts browser. The format of maps can be anything. But I think that an image (bmp,tiff,png...) might be easiest to include. I must say that I'm not familiar with windows programming at all, but as far as I know... would it be possible to make a DLL module and call that way HTA application to use as a browser for maps? The idea is that I have map files on my local drive and read them into a list of links into the HTA and so.Ofcourse and very pleaseful to receive other possible solutions =)

I have written an FS2004 panel with a single big custom GAU file. It works in Windows XP, but not in Windows 98 or Millenium. What could be the problem? The panel uses DirectSound for gauge sounds. An earlier version of the panel (with several small GAUs instead of one big one) did work in Windows 98, but I no longer have the source code for that as I've added a huge amount of additional functionality since then.Any ideas? Is DirectSound to blame, or does Win9x have a limit on the amount of complexity in a single gauge?

hi there! :)I have seen quite a couple of addon aircraft that have custom pushback trucks. Any idea how this is be done?? The FSX pushtruck is a generic object I guess that can't be influenced... so is there a way to lets say model a custom pushtruck and assign that to a specific aircraft?thanks so far,Oli :)

Hi, I'm sorry if this is a dup post, but I have done quite a bit of searching on this topic and haven't found a lot of useful info. I have been given the task of getting a model of a P51 Mustang in 3DS Max (v8) and getting it into Flight Sim X. I have gone through the documentation that was supplied with the SDK, (SP1), but have found little help that has been useful. My question pertains to attachment points and animations. From what I currently understand, I have to set specific attachment points on the model and then reference them in the attachment plug-in supplied for Max. What I cannot figure out is exactly what attachment points I need to set on the model. The SDK …

Hi,I'm making a gauge with 20 functions that use each use one of 3 functions that look like this: 0.000True1.000True2.000True... 20.000TrueThe only variables are the expression to be evaluated, the divisor of that expression (in this example 5.55), the number of cases to be evaluated (20, 10, and 8 respectively), and the filenames of the bitmaps, which vary only in the first character (L, S, and V respectively).Rather than having to maintain 20 different Select Objects, is it possible to create 3 macros to be used in each of the 20 functions in the gauge, passing them a string containing the above variables?I can figure out how to use a macro in …

  21. Hi,I'm trying to make an lcd rpm gauge that adds a bar to a circle of bars as the rpm goes up and I'm looking for ideas on how to accomplish it.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/175580.jpgI'm just getting into gauge programming. 20 years ago, I was a pretty efficient fortran programmer, but it appears that the procedural programming I was used to is rather different than gauge programming. My first thought is to have a separate image for each state, i.e. 1 image each for 0 bars, 1 bar, 2 bars, 3 bars, ... 20 bars. Then use a case statement (or set of case statements) based on the current value of the percent of the available rpm range (i.e. 0 - 110% max rpm). But all thi…

I am somewhat new to this business of installing gauges and panels. Just put in a new gauge set and some new radio panels. Everything works fine except the old radio panels show thru the new panels. I have tried to resize the new radios but to no avail. Any help on how to stop this "bleed thru" would be very welcome. Thanks,Joe
