Hello folks, i'm new here and i have a strange problem.I constructed the Grob SPn G180 for FS) (you can find in the file library) and i want to build a new version with VC in FSX.i read bill leamings tutorial for emmissive textures for illuminating gauges at night - most successfully. So i managed to make an illuminated MFD-screen. But when i wanted to put some text on it (with XML-code) this text stayed dark at night, even though i put the right commands ( ) to it, for example: ... 350.000,144.000TrueCOURIERred16%( (A:GENERAL ENG FUEL PRESSURE:1, psi) )%!09d! ...does anyone have a good idea? i'm confused! Thanks for your help!

The King Air is unflyable for IFR since it does not have standby Nav (or Com) frequencies. How do I add them?I went into the panel cfg file and gave the King Air the Baron's radio stack with standby frequencies, but when I adjust Nav frequency it adjusts the primary (in use) nav frequency instead of adjusting the standby frequency! The Baron is too slow so I am using the 737 until I can get this figured out.Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!thanks!

Hi,I would like to create a custom FMC like the guys from PMDG did for their 737NG package.I don't know where to start. FMC are fairly complex devices. How do they know the menus and functions of a specific FMC ? Do they start from the Operating Manuals from FMC manufacturers like Rockwell-Collins ?If anybody has an idea, please let me know !ThanksL-A

Hi all,I'm working on a set of panels for multi-monitor use. Here, for example is a shot of one for the Cessna Grand Caravan (still very much "work in progress"):http://www.mikesteven.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk...essna_GC_01.jpgMy intention is to make panels for all the default single engine a/c using the same layout, so that those using a cover in front of their monitor with holes cut out for the instruments will be able to swap planes without having to also swap covers. I've more or less got everything working now (thanks partly to some help from you guys in my earlier thread), but there are a few more things I couldn't find in the SDK docs which I'd really appreciate some he…

After installing FSX and Acceleration I noticed that with the stock-supplied aircraft, none of the gauges are shown which are kept in a DLL file in the Gauges folder. Gauges in the CAB file are shown fine. This includes the Cessna, Bell helicopter, King Air and the Bendix King Air Radio.I am really puzzled as to why this happens and what I can do to solve this. I have tried DirectX 9 and 10, also switches of AA, but to no avail. Thanks,FritsPS: Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but I thought with so many panel designers this would be a good place.Intel Quad Core, 2Gb, Asus 8800GTS, running on 1280x1024. Vista.

Hi all :)I'm trying to create an aircraft that will flat-spin when stalled. However, I haven't yet figured out how to get rid of the nose-down attitude that shows whenever airspeed decreases below stall-speed.What table in the FDE should I look at, and how should it in general be set to make the aircraft drop the tail rather than the nose in stall-situations?Any help or suggestions, or whatever else you might now in this regard, would be appreciated :)Thanks.JEL

Hi Simmers,I have a file for a NA Navion ready for release and I need a beta tester to test the installation and performance of the aircraft prior to uploading for release. I have all the required releases of copyrighted data on file. Volunteers can contact me here and leave information on yourself so I can contact you. Appreciated any responses. For Bill Leaming: I know you are very busy that is why I have not asked but if you want to do this you are welcome.Regards,Richie35

Hi all Over the the FFDS forums, we discussed before how to do specular and bump maps in your FDSDS generated .x files, by hand editing. See http://www.aerodynamika.com/cgi-bin/yabb/Y...?num=1195423977 for this discussion. Anyway, hand editing is a pain, and not feasible for any normal project. I decided to write FSDSxTweak, a tool which would inject the bump map and specular information into the x files, allowing you to easily add them in. All you need to do is define a config file, export the .x file from FSDS, process it, and then compile the model using XtoMdl. Currently FSDSxTweak only adds the bump and specular map info, but it could be expanded to include other use…

Can anyone point me to a website or forum that discusses editing airfiles? My aircraft is supposed to be equipped with RB211 engines but I think someone attached JATOs when the aircrew weren't looking. Unfortunately, the aircraft designer has gone the same direction as the original programmer... . I'm using AirEd, if that helps any?-Dai

I downloaded the Dreamwings Dash Q400 ( dw_q400_usair.zip )from AvSim, but when taxi speed hits 70-120knots, the plane lifts on it's own. The nose continues to pitch up and eventually stalls if you don't manually shove the nose down. Once the stick is released, it will start to pitch up again. If I lower the trim before takeoff, it's fine.Is there anyway to manipulate the cfg or air file so I don't have to manually set the trim everytime?I have tried most settings in both files.I could sure use some help :-(

Hello all,Question from a beginner in xml :I would like, on my gauge which shows Time to Station in minutes, to split values of tens and units. How to format these values so.*******FOR TEN of minutes************ (A:nav2 dme, nmiles) (A:GROUND VELOCITY,knots) / 60 * flr 60 *********For UNITS of minutes*********** (A:nav2 dme, nmiles) (A:GROUND VELOCITY,knots) / 60 * flr 60 With this formula I get a good result with String when i use text but would like to show an image of each digit depending on the value read (Case value).Hope I'm clear enough. Thanks for your supportBRGDSDan

I want to add an "easy load" option to an INS gauge, which loads the GPS waypoints from the current flight plan into the INS. How do I access the latitude and longitude of all GPS waypoints within a C gauge?I can't find anything in GAUGES.H - are they available in XML to be grabbed with execute_calculator_code?

I have been trying forever to figure this out, and now I'm finally getting the hang of it I think after figuring out a really old tutorial.http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k282/Ben...cs/aztecing.jpghttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k282/Ben...s/aztecing2.jpgThere are just so many ways to do things, and both the skill of creating textures, and the skill of mapping them. But, you really can't paint something till you know how you are going to use it as a texture. The old chicken and the egg almost. =)Now I can really go back and do some even nicer textures for my Enterprise. :D

Hi,I am willing to edit the sound.cfg file of a certain aircraft so I can have touchdown sound different for external and internal view. After reading the default 737 sound config file, I thought there was no way I could do that:[left_TOUCHDOWN]filename=bmtouch1, bmtouch2, bmtouch3, bmtouch4minimum_volume=10000On studying another aircraft sound cfg file I started thinking that it could be possible:[left_TOUCHDOWN]filename=TCHDNflags=0viewpoint=1minimum_volume=1000maximum_volume=1000But all I try fails. I have tried to double the snippet of code changing the viewpoint of the second one to 2: Only the first is played.I have also tried to double it changing the keys to LEFT_T…

I posted this over at the FSPS forum, but Ihaven't received any responses yet.I just bought FSPanelStudio and made my first mini-panel for the PS Panels 737NG freeware that incorporates the HSI gauge. To finish it off I would just like to add a .bmp frame from the master panel mask around the outside border of the gauge, as the gauge doesn't have one. I 've already created the .bmp I want to use from the full panel mask, but I can't figure out how to merge my new .bmp frame with the existing HSI gauge. I've even tried bringing the .bmp frame into the mini-panel as an element of the panel itself, so that I could possibly move the existing HSI gauge on top of it, alignin…

I have a 727-200 in FSX with a panel that uses the old rp727.gau. My panel shows up great in FSX. I am trying to help a friend installing the exact same panel in his exact same plane. He does not show any of the rp727.gau gauges at all. He is using my same panel.cfg. He has FSPanelStudio and when he opens the panel in it all of the gauges show up.I know that the gauge requires fssound.dll so I renamed my fssound.dll files in my main FSX folder and my FSXModules folder and can duplicate the fact that the rp727 gauges do not show up when these files are missing. He checked his same fssound.dll files and they are the same version and date as mine (Version 1.5.1) and they are…
