The FSX aircraft I am using has the eyepoint set where I like for forward view, but when it switches to the VC side views, I need to move the viewpoint forward and laterally to see out the windows. I know about the pitch and direction commands, but is there anyway to move the eyepoint in the x,y,z planes for each hatswitch direction?

Hello friends,my aircraft needs different settings of the cabin pressurization at different flight levels. i think every other jet does too.there is a variable called "PRESSURIZATION CABIN ALTITUDE GOAL", but there is no way, to change its value of "-2000 ft", a very unusual flight level. There is no event-id-variable corresponding to.does anyone have an idea, how i can set the correct cabin pressurization?

Hi Folks. In FS9 I have taken the Clive Ryan C-130 panel folder and placed it into the folder of another C-130 that I liked the textures of. I have renamed the original panel folder, so that is ok.I now find that the Autopilot Master switch will not operate. When I click on it I get one flash of the switch light and the AP disconnected warning tone.I have looked at the a/c config file but cannot see anything that would make the master switch not work. I have copied in the air file from the original aircraft that the panel was in. I have confirmed the model file is named correctly. I have deleted out the complete autopilot gauge using Panel Studio and replaced it with the …

    Sorry for my English!I have a problem with IF condition.I have a variable (L:hdcrs, number) and :if (L:hd, number) < 0 then (L:hd, number)=(L:hdcrs, number)+2*piif (L:hd, number) > (2*pi) then (L:hd, number)=(L:hdcrs, number)-2*piif (L:hd, number) is greater 0 but less of (2*pi) (L:hd, number)=(L:hdcrs, number)Please me a solution!Thank Piermario

I'm trying to create a refueling system for my current project and thought I'd got it beaten by using the FUEL TANK XXXX variables as they are listed as settable. However, this doesn't work...execute_calculator_code("(A:FUEL TANK LEFT MAIN,Percent+requested_fuel)(>K:FUEL TANK LEFT MAIN)", NULL, &retval, NULL);where requested_fuel is also a percentage. It does absolutely nothing - it's got to be me at fault but where?-Dai

Hi there,I recently imported a version of the superb Meljet 777-300er into FSX .Now we all know that this model was originally created for FS2002(In fact i migrated straight from FS2002 to FSX, skipping FS2004)Ive managed to sort out the odd, cruise pitch issue etc etc & the aircraft is behaving quite nicely now. However i've noticed that when the Gear is extended, there seems to no longer be any drag component ...In the past, editing the values of the 'Drag' coefficient under part 1101 in the .air file did the trick...The flaps create drag, the spoilers create drag.. but not the gear! Can anyone shed some light please on what param needs to be changed & by what amm…

Hi all.I have just upgraded to a new machine (specs in sig) and now have a wide view monitor that makes my old custom panel stretch out and what should be round is now oval. So I tried to resize the .bmp and it goofed up the location of all the gauges as well as cut off the bottom of the panel. I tried various sized then finally gave up. Can anyone tell me how to make my panel normal again using a 1900x1200 resolution? Everything else is great and I can see detail I never saw before!!!Thanks in advance,Dolph98

Ok, this isn't about the art work... That's actually from someone else (and I can't remember / find out who!! >_< )What I'm after here is about the radio stacks. I made some other minor tweaks and corrections, but the real point is would you ever find this sort of set up? I'm covered as far as I know because there seems to have been NO standard panel for the Twin Beech, every photo, even the old ones, are always different. The layout now is - Left Side Bendix/King T50(?) Hi all,I would like to add a working APU to my custom FS9 Lear 45 panel. The APU comes as standard equipment on a real 45 but MS didn't put one in.I have looked on the web and found no answer to how to add an APU switch that works. I want to sit on the tarmac and listen to ground and the tower for a bit while I plan my route. I would like an APU that uses some fuel too for realism. Is this possible? Thanks in advance, dolph98

Hi allI'm wondering if the following would be possible:A gauge that spits out a line of text containing only the country you are currently in, possibly by referencing the first letters of the nearest airport ICAO, or any other more reliable way that you guys may know of. Alternatively, even just the general "region" by referencing the first letter only of an ICAO code.First prize would be the "regions" listed in the "go to airport" selection page in the FS interface. The gauge would probably have to contain a reference list of countries and their ICAO codes, which is no problem, I'm just looking for an example on how to go about this. Any help would be much appreciated.

  14. I would like to separate my light commands. I have just enough experience in panel design to make myself dangerous! :D What I would like to do is used the existing switches and create a new lighting sub-panel on my overhead panel. I am using the SGA MD-90, downloaded for the DVA website. What I want is separate beacon, nav, and position lights. Is this possible or will I run into any FS9 limitations. One big question is how do I bind then to a switch/keystroke. Any help will be appreciated.Brian

Hi guys, wondering if someone could help me out here. I'm trying to compile a high poly model via exporting as an .x file then using XtoMdl to make the model. I've successfully exported elements of this file before using GMax but am aware of the 65K vertex limit of it's .mdl exporter. I've read in many places that this limit had been removed using the XtoMdl approach, but for me at least this is not the case. I did a test with a box - @ 90K verts - got the vertex limit error + 0Kb model file generated whilst @ 60K verts no problems...I've also read that despite it generating the vertex errors it will just create another vertex buffer + work, well that's not the case here.…

Hi all,Please see attached picture. It shows the range rings 'clumping' together in the center of the map. Most times they show correctly and spread out over the map at their correct distances. But occasionally they go as the pic, and zooming in or out makes no difference. The gauge is XML. Any work-around known? Thanks for any help.nick

Hello everyone, just wanted to share a discovery I've made. I'm currently working on a C gauge where I want to display a context menu when the user right-clicks on the gauge. The API call to display this kind of menu is TrackPopupMenu(), and in windowed mode, this works just fine. In full screen mode, however, the menu only appears half of the time; the other half of the time, the menu seems to be "active" but is not displayed. After some searching on the Internet, I found that the reason for this is that Flight Simulator is constantly switching between two graphics buffers when it does its rendering, whereas GDI always draws to the same buffer. So if I get lucky, the GDI b…

Hi everybody. I've just finished some new gauges, and they work wonderfully, but they are written in the old (FS9-style) XML. Are there any advantages to updating these to the new FSX style of XML? So far I know this: - new XML lets you use the ACE editor (yeah, so??) - new XML offers a way to wrap up and hide the code (good!) - new XML syntax tends to be significantly longer than old (bad...)What I DON'T know is this: - does new XML offer any new functionality? - does new XML offer any efficiency or performance improvements? - will there be an issue of old XML possibly not working in FS11?I would appreciate any input before I attempt to tackle what might be a pretty bori…

I have a P-61 and an F-4 that I have added to FSX. The heading hold does not work in either plane. The altitude hold works OK. The autopilot section of the aircraft.cfg appears to be OK. What can I do or check to get the autopilot heading hold to work? I also noted that there is no autopilot entry in the FSX default planes air files like there is in the FS9 air files (Section 317). Thanks, regards, Bob.

Hi guys,I am used to record my landings and I do have some great fun watching the videos. But there's one thing weird. Even in tower view I still hear the sound of the speedbrake being extended (at touchdown) and the voice calling "80 knots." That's totally unreal. Is there a way to solve these problems other than switching off/on them on the PMDG menu? I mean fixing it by editing the sound config file. Thanks in advance!Silvestre

I'm a newbie at a/c flight dynamics and stumbled onto the remarkable flight dynamics Excel workbook by Jerry Beckwith. All the posts I've found that reference it, though, seem to be a few years old. Is it still usable for FS9? Is the companion program more up to date than the spreadsheet? The reason I ask is I'm having trouble creating an updates.txt file. When I press the button in the spreadsheet I get a VBS runtime error 13 (invalid type). I'm using Excel 2002 but MS is infamous for changing things between versions and I don't know if the version of VBS the workbook was written for is compatible with what I have. The author's e-mail address on the website bounced, so I …
