Dear all, I'm having problems with Macro's. Format for FS9 2d cockpit works in FSX, but in FSX format it doesn't work. Can anyone help? FS9 code 2d works in FSX: <Macro Name="Increase"> (L:DataEntry, number) 10 * @1 + (>L:DataEntry, number) </Macro> <Macro Name="Decrease"> (L:DataEntry, number) 10 / int (>L:DataEntry, number) </Macro> <!-- ********* 1 Digit **********--> <Area Left="36" Right="66" Top="53" Bottom="83"> <Visible>(L:ICP-MODE, enum) 0 != (L:ICP-MODE, enum) 7 != (L:ICP-MODE, enum) 13 != (L:ICP-SEC1, enum) 4 != ||</Visible> <Cursor Type="Hand"/> <Click> @Increase(1) </Cl…

Hi I have made a gauge, https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=134&t=58936 nailed the xml to do what I want it to do, and now I want the gauge to look pretty 😁 I have the basic layout and made it look ok-ish useing paint, but it's really not ideal. my system is sim only so I haven't got much in the sense of editing software can anyone suggest the best freeware for this purpose? I have paint, Gimp and I think it's called DTXBMP are there better ones out there? Thanks Luke

I have a number of older aircraft that I have been able to retrofit a 3rd party AP/GPS unit into & have it work by tweaking the Aircraft.cfg & Panel.cfg. files. When the AP/GPS is activated the aircraft will climb to the set height at the set VS, following the Flight Plan GPS track to the destination. I do this as my eyes aren't the best & I can't watch a screen for the entirety of a 2 hour flight. However, I have a few aircraft that accept the AP/GPS unit, light up the correct buttons when I push AP, Nav, GPS & Alt on the unit, but won't follow the GPS track. I am trying to find where the programming for the AP/GPS is hidden so I can, if possible,…

I have installed in the Seneca V of Carenado, the system of lights A2A Redux. In the .cgf file of the airplane I only have three types of lights. The others, like landing lights or taxis do not appear in the .cfg file. I was able to locate the .mdl file on the plane and open it with the ModelconverterX program. What I would like is to know how to locate the coordinates of these lights with this program, to be able to put A2A Redux, properly in place.

To all you aspiring or beginning modelers, especially those who have tried gmax and thought it too confusing, I have developed a video tutorial series just for you. These videos lay a foundation of understanding before jumping into the build process. The initial ones explain Gmax and its set up, the main screen, the menu drop-downs and tools you will use, the views, and all the basics to get you comfortable before moving forward. Then we focus on building an aircraft, getting 3-views into gmax, and constructing a fuselage, canopy, wings, tails, gear, animations, etc., everything from start to finish. I show you how to export the aircraft to flight sim, create a…

Lets say I have 2 general aviation aircraft but 1 has a flight model that I find difficult to enjoy flying. Where is the fm info kept. Seems to me there use to be a way of copying the flight model of an aircraft into another. But this is going back a long ways maybe FS2002 or 2004 not sure, can't remember? Any help would be appreciated....... Thanks in advance.

Alright, so I realized I started the brother of this topic in the wrong section, so I'm just starting a new one here. Basically, I want to know how to develop a virtual cockpit in blender from the ground up. I know how to model and have already begun doing so, I just don't know how to a.) develop gauges, b.) animate control surfaces (throttles, yoke, switches, etc.), and c.) port it over into FSX. Could anyone help me? At the moment I'm attempting a 737-200 VC - Here's where I am at the moment, obviously nowhere near finished - but still a start nonetheless:

I'm editing a freeware aircraft, an L-39 http://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/65/727, to have units that I'm used to like knots, etc. I'm trying to figure out where the code for the decision height knob is: I'm looking all through the code of this specific aircraft and can't even find a reference to it. Any ideas?

Hi Captains I've recenty purchased the flyfreestd Sukhoi T-50. I've modified the cfg and air-files to make it easier to control. The only thing that annoys me, is that the HUD don't got a velocity vector, which shows the flight direction in the hud. Is it possible to add a velocity vector into the Sukhoi HUD? Greetings from germany Bernd

Hi, I am new to FSX programming. I have been working on a project, I am learning programming managed SimConnect clients, and now I have to learn creating C gauges also. I am not beginner in programming, but am not professional either. I have found Dai Griffin's sd2gau tutorial about C gauges. I started to understand, how it works, but i have one big problem. I cannot setup Visual Studio for a new C gauge, and i cannot find any information about that neither in the tutorial, nor on MSDN... (nor google gives a result....) I loaded the SDK example in VS2015, and could figure it out that it is a makefile project... It could be built successfully and I got the SDK.dll…

Hi everyone I wanted to know if there is a way to "correct" the throttle curve on an aircraft. What I mean is, I have an aircraft in which throttle movement is smooth and gradual up to 45% more or less, then extremely sensitive between 45% and 75% and then smooth from 75% upwards. The smallest motion between 45% and 75% causes large variations up and down and I find it hard to set precise N1 settings in that range - this is very unpleasant, as this range is critical for approach and landing settings. I have already tried correcting this with the calibration slopes on FSUIPC. While this has improved the issue slightly, it's still nowhere near fixed. Is there an…

I have a panel with many gauges. Several of the gauges are from different .cab files. One set of the .cab file gauges are luminous and bright red. The other set is not luminous. When I edit each gauge in both .cab files the bmp's both have Luminous="Yes" What sets the luminosity? I have changed the luminous r,b.g values at the end of the panel.cfg with no changes. The one set of gauges are luminous with no luminosity values set in the panel.cfg. What is the difference between Bright abd Luminous? Can a gauge be bright and luminous? Thanks, Bob.

Hi, Searched the forum but couldn't find something for this (doesn't mean there was none, just that I couldn't see it in front of my face). The flap position needle is defined towards west and the brake pressure needle is defined towards east. But the flap needle points the same way as the brake pressure needle when both are 0. Both needles behave and turn as they should once I move data to them. <Gauge Name="KK_BrakePressure" Version="1.0"> <Image Name="BrakePressureBackground.bmp"/> <!-- ========================= BrakePressure ===================== --> <Element> <Position X="50" Y="50"/> …

This gives the pilot the Radial to fly to a selected VOR (A:NAV1 Radial, Degrees) Is it possible to display the radial and distance from a specific VOR or BCN, say 114.300Mhz, "without" the pilot selecting the frequency in NAV1 or NAV2? If yes, with what code? Bassy

Just a quick question? Has somebody got better .air files for those planes? They are the only ATRs that works in P3D, but their behaviour in the air is pretty ridiculous - extending the flaps while on Autopilot sends them skyrocketing, for example ;-) Help would be appreciated, I don't want to delete them from my Installation.

Hi, I thought about attempting to build a panel from available gauge and bitmaps and searched entire avsim, flightsim.com, simviation file libraries only to come up empty searching for freeware gauge packs and panel bitmaps. I wanted to use FS Panel Studio to install gauges that I like in a panel for personal enjoyment. The bigger reason is my ability to see small fonts is getting more difficult even with reading glasses at my age. Seems like every single panel out there in Boeing or Airbus planes the EICAS fonts are way too tiny on a 15 inch monitor. I like to set take off thrust manually and not use TOGA as TOGA can set 102-106% N1. Also ND display fonts are so small th…

So let me start off by saying that I understand that any VC textures / gauges called in the panel.cfg with the '$' it means the texture is created in memory.. My question is.. Is there anyway to access that memory location? does it create a temporary file output anywhere? I'm asking because I'd love to essentially take a dynamically drawn gauge and have it on a second monitor WITHOUT the use of a dedicated display port from my video card.. (e.g. taking the bitmap in memory and serializing it and sending it to a screen via SPI) I've created a couple gauges like this already, but using offsets from fsuipc to send gauge values to a program that essentially recreates the ga…

Hi people. I am in the process of building my own panel using the excellent Leo Bodnar BBI-32 board. The only thing is 32 switches is not enough. Can you tell me if I was to buy another BBI-32 board will FSUIPC recognise them as two separate boards or will it just get confused having 2x No1 slots, 2x No2 slots 2x No3 slots etc. Many thanks

Well, maybe it isn't such an odd problem - ! :smile: My simconnect gauge works perfectly in both windowed and fullscreen mode, as long as FSX stays in either windowed or fullscreen mode. However, if I resize the FSX window, around thirty seconds later FSX crashes with either a BEX or an appcrash. Commenting out the simconnect gauge stops the crash, so the source is pretty obvious. I think I might have a problem with conflicting calls as during the window resize process PANEL_SERVICE_CONNECT is called before PANEL_SERVICE_DISCONNECT. Can anyone confirm that this might be the source of the problem? If so, is there a way of detecting a window resize call? While writi…
