February 20, 20179 yr To all you aspiring or beginning modelers, especially those who have tried gmax and thought it too confusing, I have developed a video tutorial series just for you. These videos lay a foundation of understanding before jumping into the build process. The initial ones explain Gmax and its set up, the main screen, the menu drop-downs and tools you will use, the views, and all the basics to get you comfortable before moving forward. Then we focus on building an aircraft, getting 3-views into gmax, and constructing a fuselage, canopy, wings, tails, gear, animations, etc., everything from start to finish. I show you how to export the aircraft to flight sim, create a virtual cockpit with gauges, a bit on using FS Panel Studio, and about tools to create your own Flight Models. There are 47 videos; watch them in sequence easily by subscribing so these videos show up in your playlist. You can catch the first video right here: Gmax for the Beginning Modeler #1https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dgCObbUr5sGmax Introduction for the new/beginning modeler, especially those frustrated by other tutorials and just can't seem to get theirheads around gmax, or prefer a video learning approach over reading or graphic tutorials. I hope these will be helpful in getting your started. Warm Regards Milton Shupe
February 20, 20179 yr Milton, what a tremendous effort to create this series and share so much of your knowledge and experience. Thanks so much for this contribution. I'm on video #24 and really enjoying your easy going presentation style. This is just the ticket for us wannabe aircraft modelers. Barry Friedman
February 20, 20179 yr Author Thank you; there are lots of ways to contribute to the community and I thought this was one area that needed to be addressed. I do recall my early frustrations when getting started and thought an easy going approach would be appreciated. And, at my age, it is good to do these things to encourage others to fill the gap that I will leave one day. :-) Happy to hear they are being useful.
February 20, 20179 yr Moderator Excellent work Milton! What a terrific amount of work you've put into this series. I truly wish that there was a viable way to do a series of video tutorials on gauge development. Unfortunately, I simply cannot think of any coherent methodology to accomplish such a monumental task.
