Hi,I don't know if this is the right section to post, if not I please administrators to move it to the correct section, I apologize in advance.I bought an ATI HD5750 that gives the chance to connect 3 monitors.I have only 2 LCD so I thought to set one for the forward view and the other for a lateral view.To set the lateral view "angle" correctly I switch to the Virtual Cockpit but unfortunately it displays the panel texture while I would like a "clear" view.I tried to edit the file "model.cfg" (of the Cessna 172 just to experiment) leaving empty the variable "interior" but when I open FSX the option "Virtual Cockpit" is disabled.I tried to delete all the "VC_Cockpitxxx" s…

Is there a way of independently computing the local "altimeter setting" (ie., 30.12) using what standard variables are available in FS?I want to be able to display what the local altimeter setting would as the aircraft passes through different areas in flight (without hitting the 'b' key)Any ideas?

I have recently upgraded to a laptop from a PC with 1280 X 1024 screen resolution and a A-open optical PS2 mouse. Now I have a 1280 X 800 dpi screen and a Lexma 229 (900 dpi) optical USB mouse. I feel the mouse is not performing as the previous setup did in FSDS 3.51. The mouse is not as fine as before. I found the following explanation wrt mouse dpi: "DPI is dot's per inch how ever what this actually means in regards to mice vs monitors is very different in monitors this is how many dots are actually on the screen that the computer can make use of to display the picture the higher the number the more detailed the computer can be in making an image how ever ju…

Hi,Is there an XML command to set the zoom level of the forward view to a specifric value? I can only see the following in the FS2004 controls.dll list I have:ZOOM_1XZOOM_INZOOM_IN_FINEZOOM_MINUSZOOM_OUTZOOM_OUT_FINEZOOM_PLUSWhat I would like to do is write a small gauge that changes the zoom as I change altitude:> read altitude and write required zoom value to a variable> If altitude below a certain cutoff and zoom not default, set the default low altitude zoom> If altitude above a certain cutoff and zoom not default, set the default high altitude zoom> If altitude between the cutoff values and zoom not same as stored variable, set zoom to the stored variable…

Good morning guysI am new to this and kind of a noob, I did a lot of Reality XP panel upgrades some years ago, so I still have FS Panel Studio.My 2 "challanges" are:1. I like to have a popup in the VC for the Autopilot input and I did this without problem (PSS 777).Is there anyway to fix the popup in the VC-view, so that a viewchange to 2d, spot, tower does not make the popupgo away when I am back in VC view?2. I made a simple clickspot for the popup, in the 2d panel it works perfect, in the VC its not working, I think its a placing problem, what are the requirementsfor a clickspot to work in VC?Thanks everybody to take time to read :-)RegardsDaniel

Hi guys, It would probably help if the manual was more smooth, but this is just a brief post to ask how exactly the brilliant TCAS gauge by Lee Hetherington should work. I have installed it into Aerosim's excellent L-1011 and I believe my installation is correct, with modules etc in the right places and such, but when I test the gauge, it performs the 'test okay' function, and then the 'test okay' screen remains on for the duration of the flight and does not disappear.Whenever I change altitude, speed, or rate of climb, it does not react. It will only react when I switch it to the 'TCAS off' mode - with the needle moving correctly according to rate of climb, but with no T…

I have been flying the new free Tiger Moth this week and I would like for the cockpit view to be a little more downward and a bit further back so I can see the altimeter without playing around with the hat switch. I know various views are captured somehow and defined in the aircraft.cfg file. I'm hoping we can take one more step after defining the view and assign it to an unused or underused keyboard command.Everyone reading this knows more about this than me, but no one is more eager to get it going. So, whatta you say. I'm kinda like a sponge, I can soak it up if someone will just put me in the puddle.How do I get started? Thanks.Ray M.

I'm trying to add both an internal and external APU sound to the default 737-400 sound folder, which I alias to other aircraft. I had it working in a previous installation of FS2004 but have upgraded to Win 7 / 64 and reinstalled FS2004. I had posted this inquiry to the main FS 9 forum, and a respondent suggested that I post it here. I'm really new at this stuff and any help folks could provide would be appreciated.Thanks.Hardware: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Processor 2.2 GHz / 4GB RAM / 320GB HDD / NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT w/ 1GB RAM

Hello savvy simmers,I'm trying to improve upon the performance of the autopilot in my Citation X. I find that the default plane tends to wallow through turns and overshoots pitch commands.For the most part, the Flight Director works very nicely--the problem is getting the command bars to mate up in a more precise manner as changes in the flight occur. After doing a little research, I came upon a few parameters in the autopilot section of the cfg file that would seem to affect how well this system works or doesn't work;nav_proportional_control=11.0nav_integrator_control=0.20nav_derivative_control=0.00nav_integrator_boundary=2.50nav_derivative_boundary=0.00gs_proportional_c…

Hello! I have Paul Clawson's Howard DGA-15 for FS9, and would like to use it in FS8. The a/c comes up in the sim, but here's my question:The RPM for the a/c stays at idle. When I try to increase or decrease throttle the a/c stays at idle. I think the problem lies in the .air file. Is there a way to modify the file so I can get the throttle to work? I checked the throttle on my joystick with other a/c and it works, so I know it's not that.Any suggestions?Thanks for looking, and for everyone's help & assistance.Alan :(

Hi all,If trying to apply this C++ logic to an Xml gauge <click> tag, I'm basically trying to get a switchto rotate through 3 positions (0,1,2)if(eng_switch == 0) eng_switch = 1;else if(eng_switch == 1) eng_switch = 2;else eng_switch = 0;I've tried this....<Click>(L:eng_switch,enum) 0 == if{ 1 (>L:eng_switch,enum) } els{ (L:eng_switch,enum) 1 == if{ 2 (>L:eng_switch,enum) } els{ 0 (>L:eng_switch,enum) }}</Click>But this seems to only toggle the switch between position 0 and 1.Anyone know what I am missing here ?Thanks.Regards.Ernie.

I used to have an FS9 application that displayed various key parameters about a flight - speed, power etc.It wasn't the Flight Test gauge from Mudpond but was a free-standing application that linked automatically to FS9 once that was started.Does anyone know if it is still available and if it works with FSX?

Guys, anyone tried to resize the aspect of the overhead panel for Wilco's A320? While other popup windows can be reasonably resized to match the widescreen (I fly in 3d VC only with pop up windows in those planes that don't have wide screen panels) to some reason I can't do anything with Wilco's A320 overhead. I tried to resize with FSPStudio and even manually, but the buttons on the overhead stop responding, and using it with all rotaries flattened is quite ugly. Please post here if someone did it and succeeded.Thanks,Dirk.

Since fairly early on, FS has included a small gauge titled "minicontrols.gau". I havent used it in years, but having some disabilities with my hands I was searching for a visual representation of control axis, especially throttle position to aid in operation of a few certain add-ons. I'm using keyboard commands for some things that I cannot physically operate with my controls. Ideally, I'm interested in throttle position in reverse especially, but a visual representation of trim would be great, also.Do any of you guys know of some kind of replacement since the old .gau no longer works in FSX? Heck, I'd even be willing to pay someone to create one.Thanks!-Cory

I'd welcome step-by-step advice on creating a transparent blurred propellor disc for FSX + Acceleration using GMax and the FSX Gamepack.I've googled and tried everything I can think of. I've set the animation and the visibility using the FSX tools in GMax and created DXT3 bitmaps with alpha channels, played with transparency and opacity setting in the Material Editor etc etc..Nothing works - I always get a completely opaque disk.EDIT: I've also tried the gmax file from the Laird air racer tutorial looking for clues but it won't load. It get an unhelpful error message "File open failed;" followed by the path and file - FSX Laird Air Racer 003.gmax!

My name is Cole Chandler and this is my first post to this forum. I live in Havre, Montana (KHVR) and currently own and fly a Cessna P210N--N75LG. I have used MS Flight Simulator since 2002 as a training device to simulate file:///C:%5CUsers%5CCOLECH%7E1%5CAppData%5CLocal%5CTemp%5Cmsohtmlclip1%5C01%5Cclip_colorschememapping.xml IFR procedures. This past year I upgraded the instrument panel in the real plane (N75LG) with a GNS 530/430 and an Aspen EFD 1000 primary flight display, so now my old 210 simulator panel does not match the new digital panel. Last month I began researching upgrades to my system which would allow my simulator to more accurately emulate my airp…
