I would like to make some minor changes to the Mooney to increase the power and improve the pitch stability. I am looking at the Aircraft.cfg file and I wonder if changing some of the settings would help. I know next to nothing about flight dynamics. Any experts out there who can point me in the right direction. I am willing to spend time testing and changing things but I would like to be sure that any changes I make won't screw something else up. For example I changed the power scalar and that gave me the correct top speed but the climb rate is now too high. I just need a few basics to start with and I'll take it from there. Thanks Richard

I am still using FS2k2 and will be for several more months. I have always used the default 737 panel and would like to change it to one of the add-ons available in the file library. Would anyone please suggest what they have found to be a good panel to replace the default. Thanks.GLB:-)

I'm working on the TB20GT from last year, and getting it ready for FS9.Here are a couple of screenies showing the reflections on the glass. Does anyone know a good "formula" for restoring the chrome to the prop spinner? It is washed out badly! :(I've reduced the alpha channel to 100,100,100 with a primary color of 216,240,248. The primary with an alpha of 13.13,13 worked well in FS2k2, but for FS9 I've had to lighten up the alpha a lot, but still am not happy with the results.I also need to finish the "Spirit of Liberty" livery. This a/c was donated by EADS/Socata, Bendix/King, and several other avionics companies and raffled off last year by the AOPA Safety Foundatio…

  8. Most all my add-on panels don't display the HSI or PDF, and I've been trying to figure how to get them back. I've played with the bmp masks, etc, but no joy...I've just added this line "child_3d=1" in the panel.cfg and you can see the result below...Result, the PDF gauge is displayed, behind the panel, but how do I move it down and to the right? And how do I resize it to look proper?Question, how do you move the PFD, around on the panel using "child_3d=1". I am updating my helihud for FS9, and want to indicate the direction the helicopter is moving, as well as how fast it is moving. I already have it so that an arrow rotates 360 to indicate the direction of movement, and I have just finished a sliding line (using the SHIFT tag)to indicate rate of movement.Question is, can I use the ROTATE tag on the sliding "vector" element? In other words: I want to make this:(A:Ground velocity, feet per second) absBe controlled by this:(A:Velocity world X, feet per second) (A:Velocity world Z, feet per second) atg2 (A:Magvar, radians) - (A:Plane heading degrees gyro, radians) - Any help will be appreciated.Steve

Decided today to go ahead and add the 2 foot plug to my GIII, and add some engines to get an idea of what the G-IV is gonna look like, and here are the results. Yes the Right wing is missing, cause I gotta figure out how to properly translate the spoilers after mirroring them on the X plane. Thanks to Rick Sasala for the engines, (From his G-IV project) for now they are only temporary. I plan on doing my own so the project is 100% original.Still to go is the Tail, gear, animation of flaps, but other than that, the Fuselage is done, the wing is complete with everything cutout, spoilers are animated.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26454.jpgPS. Hi all,Is there anyone who uses EditPlus? It is a great text/html/xml etc. editor available at http://www.editplus.com. It supports XML and has syntax highlighting built in.I am nearly finished with the Cliptext files for the K:Events, A:Vars, Units and General XML Syntax. The Cliptext files put all the above in seperate "libraries", available in a window inside the editor. By double clicking on any of the elements in these libraries, the entries are automatically entered into your XML file. Saves a great deal of time on typing, especially if one is writing a gauge from scratch.I will be uploading it to the file library in any event. Just thought I'd see if anyone else use…

Hi, I know there is a message going on about fuel tanks here but its more to do with crossover. In the Default Vega in FS9 it has 5 fuel tanks but no fuel guage on the panel. I want to use the fuel gauge from the Ford Trimotor but that only has 3 tanks. I am enclosing the XML. Any help in what to change in the Ford fuel gauge to read from the 5 Vega tanks would be greatly appreciated.Heres the vega feul selector: (A:Fuel tank selector 1,enum)Heres the Gauge I want to have 5 positions/tanks: (L:Fuel Gauge Switch, enum) 0 == if{ (A:Fuel tank left main level, percent) quit } else{ (L:Fuel Gauge Switch, enum) 1 == if{ (A:Fuel tank center level, percent) quit }…

Hi all, Don. I am repainting the Tri-Motor in FS9. They use (as with all default planes) that damned autogen N number. I have an article about getting rid of them, but it takes a hex editor. Is there any way to do this without a hex editor? I don't have the $$ to go buy a hex editor to change N numbers. Thanks all.Don

Hi all!I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I start by throwing in a question I hope I will get lots of answers to...or at least one answer that solves my problem :-)I'm flying the MelJet 777-200ER aircraft and for some reason the taxilights don't lit up the runway when sitting in the cockpit, but the landing lights do. Have tried to find where these lights settings are defined, my thought was that maybe I could "copy" the landing lights routine to the taxi lights routine and then just turn down the brightness a little bit so the taxi lights don't lit up the ground as much as the landing lights do. Both the landing and the taxi lights works perfec…

I've recently tried my first repaint (of the default 737) and all went well apart it suffers from the same problem as the default FS2002 planes. That is to say when looked at side on the wording and textures look fine but when you change the viewing angle the textures blur and take a while to come back in focus. This can also be seen in the preview shot of the planes when you pick which one you want to fly. Many of the 3rd Party planes I have do not have this problem and the textures remain crisp no matter what the angle. Why is this? Is this to do with the model I am repainting (are the default planes GMAX or FSDS?), or the way I'm repainting it?
