Since FS2004 doesn't allow wings to be flexed in the normal way, there's been some new aircraft developed that use a XML gauge to control the wing flexing. How is this achieved?

I am working on a project to go with Ian Standfast Bk-117. I have came across all the needed info to create a realistic panel for the BK(2d only). But I am not the best at programming. I am looking for someone to do this part of it. I have the diagrams needed and each gauge function. I am trying to get the gauges, annuciator panel, and switches to tie in together. I am going for the whole systems approach. If you are interest please email me. I have alot of the bitmaps done for the person. Thanks for the help Steve

A work in progress. Fuselage (to me at least) is complete and has the proper shape. Next is to redo the Vert/Horizontal Stab, then the wings, and finally the gear. Dont know how long this will take, but expect it to be a while, but not too long :)Andrew Wolcott - PilotAtlanta, GAhttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/24358.jpg

Hi everyone! I'm working on my very first FS2002 aircraft project, the Pilatus PC-9, and would like any suggestions thus far. I've also got some questions for the geniuses out there. But, first, my aircraft;http://www.binsurf.net/images/pilatuspc9project.jpgThis is a screen shot from gMax. The back wings have not been modelled yet as I am just using extruded splines to stand in for visualization purposes. Now for the questions;1. When I'm working in the units (meters is what I work in) how can I balance them between gMax and FS2002? I have tried using a ratio in the preferences dialog like 1 unit = 0.076 meters and my fuselage came up as 10.181 meters after. But when I ex…

I've been giving some thought to trying my hand at design.I've always learned something new by seeing how someone else does it. Kind of a show me/tell me thing. So, here's the question...If I wanted to open a model file or take it apart for the sole purpose of looking around..where would I start?BobL

In XML it's a trivial matter to "stuff" a value into a K_xxx_SET type event like this:(A:Plane heading degrees gyro, degrees) (>K:HEADING_BUG_SET)This will take the value of the current heading and force the Heading Bug to rotate to that setting. Is there a way to implement this in C at all? I've not been successful so far... :(BillAVSIM OmbudsmanFounder and Director,Creative Recycling of Aircraft Partshttp://catholic-hymns.com/frbill/FS2002/images/fartslogo.jpg

Hi all,I am using the code below for an Altimeter Warning Light:1. Altimeter with Altitude Warning Light (on +/- 750 feet before set [AP] Altitude, off +/- 100 feet before set [AP] altitude. Will also illuminate if aircraft leaves the set [AP] altitude (-100 feet), e.g. on ILS APP, and will in this case go off when the altitude is 750 feet below the set [AP] altitude). 2. AFCS ALT & CRS2 Selector (ALT function modified to work with the Altimeter Altitude Warning Light).Element code in the Altimeter:(A:Autopilot altitude lock var, feet) (A:Indicated altitude, feet) - abs d 100 >= r 750 <= &&This code is working with the Altitude Selector, element code://-…

HiA friend and I are currently working on a Lear 35A panel and airplane, based on the real thing. A am responsible for the gauges and is working on the Collins Communication Radio, but I can't make it work as I want it to. I would like to set the frequency in the "standby" field and then swap it to the "active" field, but this is not working as it should. I don't even know if it is possible to simulate this using XML. I enclosed my code I'm using so far. At present I get the cursor to show, but I can't change the frequency.%((A:Com1 Active Frequency,MHz))%!3.2f!%((A:Com1 Standby Frequency,MHz))%!3.2f!I am completely lost and in desperate need of help..:-)Kind regardsJimmy

Now, I've dealt with some disasters before. My last project would completely lost when my computer crashed, I've forgotten to save before, etc.But today, I was excited. I had figured out to do stuff in a new way which was really turning out well. But then I opened up a new file, and accidently hit "no" when it asked me to save. Poof, 5 hours of work lost. I feel like crying. Now this is in FSDS2, I heard in GMAX it automatically saves you work every 4-5 minutes. I need to make a request for a new feature.

Hey everyone. I've been working on this lady(Boeing 307 for Pan Am) for some time now, and i've run into a bother. I've been watching the poly numbers climb, and now they are up to about 29,000, which I would say seems a bit high since I haven't even cut any of the wing surfaces yet, started the interior, worked on the engine cowl inlets and exhausts, nor worked on the landing gear. The extent of a VC will be determined by how many polys it takes to make this bird look right, most likely. What really is a reasonable number for polys? It's kind of frustrating since the 307 has compound curves everywhere that need tons of points in order to be molded right. The bi…

Hello All,New to this forum, not new to MSFS however.... I've recently been bitten by the helicopter bug, and I've gotten pretty good at all of the flight dynamics to fly them.I've recently downloaded several Bell 205a Helos and find their top speed is about 45-50 knots. Even with FULL throttle, these aircraft will get up to about 50, then slow to under 40. Aircraft data states top speed over 100 knots.Where, what file or files, and how do I edit these aircraft to fly the correct speed? Thanks

This week was learn to texture with alpha channel week. The picture shows the registration number on the side of the fuselage. I made it as a 512 x 512 texture. Up close it is blocky looking. Can I do better, or is this good enough? Tonight I was experimenting with the air file trying to get a resonable idle. My engine currently idles around 1,500 RPM, it should be about half of that. What should I tweak in the .air file to get a resonable idle? Also, it takes way too long for the engine to shut down. Thanks for the help!RobertVirtual Thorp T-18 : http://home.nethere.net/kerr/virtual.htm

From the http://eaa.org/ site. Set you recorder. ;-)July 18, 2003 - EAA received word from the producers of the CBS Sunday Morning program that the segment about EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2002, first aired in August 2002, will air again on Sunday, July 20. In the Oshkosh area, Channel 5 (WFRV) broadcasts the show from 8-9:30. (Check your local TV listings for the appropriate time and channel in your area.) Those who saw the piece will recall this 8 to 10 minute piece was an outstanding overview of the event. With EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2003 fast approaching, the airing is extremely timely.
