I have a few FS2002 panels that I really love and would like to know how (if posible) to add/update them so that the FS2004 GPS will work with them? (Laymens terms please)

Asking again about altimeter with barometer knob.Now I am trying to get the function of moving knob with changing barometic setting. I know that I should use "MAKE_ICON" element, however I am confusing at Field "SWITCH_TYPE".Maybe I should take "ICON_SWITICH_TYPE_SET_CUR_USING_ RANGE" ,but there is no sample for that type. So question is,1)Is "ICON_SWITICH_TYPE_SET_CUR_USING_ RANGE" adequate for the purpose?2)How to use "offset" and "scale" for the type? I would be so happy if there are any sample code. I am quite new to making gauges, and also relatively new and have only poor knowledgement of C language. Thanks in advance.

Dear all, I'm glad to offer a code snipset that will allow you to directly read the AI Traffic information from FS2002. As is, it can read the all AI Traffic tables (up to ~100 aircrafts) 18 times a second, with little if no impact on the performances. I found several FS2002 planes that I imported into FS2004 had the dreaded Sound-File Ungueltig error. I commented out the gauges in the panel one by one until I found the offending gauge. I then used a hex editor to view the gauge file. Search for wav. Once you find the wav file, or files,that are required you can then search for the missing wav file and add it, if you have it in FS2002. Just copy the wav file from the FS2002 Sounds folder and put the copy into the FS2004 Sounds folder and Voila! The error is gone. Most of the errors are from the HGHB gauges. If you don't have the wav file you can do a google search for HGHB and download the gauge and the wav files needed…

I did a quick check on something this morning on my PC-12 which has "washed out" chrome. if you use a black background with the same alpha you had before you will get a decent chrome. I haven't played with polished aluminum like on the 140 yet but I'll let you know what I find.Brian

1) I modify panels all the time. I read that you can use a command "reload panel" to bypass loading another plane and then reloading the one your working on to force an update. How do I access and use this "reload panel" command?2) I now have MYTraffic 2004 which loads a bunch more planes into the A/C files. I understand that you can change the "Aircraft type=0" to "Aircraft type=2" to keep it from showing up in the program when changing planes. I have downloaded FSEdit but I'm not familier with it's use. How do I make this simple change?Thank you in advance.

Hi,I really dont understand the way the prop of the turboprops are modelled in FS2004.When you have the propeller lever full forward, High RPM, Low pitch, the noise should be consequent, noisy, which mean one should hear the Props running at high RPM and once you feather the props they should run smoothly. FS98 2K and 2K2 did not manage the turboprops. FS2004 are doing a bit better but still are not satisfying I used to fly some complex twins in my life for real, never turboprops but have spent hours and hours in the cockpit of the Dornier 28, Dash 8-100....Once you are on short final and you put the Prop lever full forwardto high RPM, the noise is really different.With …

Hi,I have tried to install the 727 panel of Richard Probst, and I have some problems. The last version (RP4) directly crashes the FS2004, so I tried the RP3. First all seems to go ok, but I see that the AP section in the radios window don't shows, so it's imposible to fly it with autopilot.Any idea?Alejandro Lillo

Hi everyone. I am simply writing to ask any of you advice on whether to use Editable Poly or Editable Mesh when designing aircraft. I have personally only worked with Editable Poly and noticed in these forums, that my resulting objects look nothing like they do. I'm also dumbfounded by the detail. I would like to know the unit of "Barometric Pressure" of TokenVar.I'm now making a atomosphic pressure gauge for altimeter.However, it shows "16210" at ground level, when I set pressure as "29.92" at weather menu. If anyone know how to convert "Barometric Pressure" TokenVar to inches HG or Milibar. Of course, any suggestions are so welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I need help. Im trying to use one folder to house 5 MDLs. I have a ski,wheeled,float,amphib, and retro Models. They use the same texture sheets. It seems like a waste to have to make folders and textures for each version. could someone explain how to set up the .cfg so it will pick up my 5 MDLs? or is it possible to "alias" a texture folder?thanks,joe

Maybe its me...........maybe I'm slow, but you can do vector type drawings in XML!!!Been peeking in the GPS and found this gem:{ 0xFF0000 }{ 0x000000 }(A:Plane heading degrees gyro, radians)I changed the colours a bit and remmed out a statement, changed it to show plane heading instead of GPS heading......but its a very nioce vector compass rose.There are limitless possibilities. I also found that you can draw shapes instead of using bitmaps. Does any one know of a tutorial on adding an autopilot system ive tried things in the aircraft.cfg but cant seem to get a few things right like heading hold and nav hold

Does FS9 allow XML to access and play sounds? (unlike in FS2002)In FS2002 the only way to do this was to use the "afterburner" commands and sub-stitute your own wav files.Has this changed in FS9?Thanks,John

Hi, anyone know how to make the Vega radio read VORs? As of now it only sees NDB's I have tried adding the same lines in the aircraft.cfg as another plane that uses VORs in FS9 but it doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated.CheersPhil
