Any users of PAI aircraft notice a differance in texture quality between airline liveries? I've started replace my default aircraft with PAI aircraft in FS2004 using their new installer and noticed that there seems to be a differance between say Delta colors which are crisp and solid and Continental or USAir which seem to have a some bleeding and a shimmering effect to them. Don't have FS2K2 anymore and can't recall if I had the same effects there or not. John Fitzpatrick

Here's my situation. The Grumman Mallard. Works fine in FS2002 as it should as it was designed for that, but crashes anytime you put it on water in FS2004. Suspecting that it is a difference in the contact points, I tried cutting and pasting that data from amphibious aircraft that I knew worked in FS2004. Well, the Mallard stopped crashing but, depending on what set I used, it was suspended above the water a few feet. In one case, my nose gear would only partially retract. The main thing though is that I proved the problem is in the contact points; I just don't know how or what I am reading with them. Any assist or pointing me in the right direction where I can learn w…

I've noted in several different models, particularly GA pistons, that it takes an exorbitant amount of power for both break-away and to maintain taxi. Sometimes better than 1500 RPM while some of the payware flight models have it dead on correctIs there an airfile/cfg parameter that I can adjust to reduce the amount of break-away power and taxi power required without completely hosing up the remaining drag/power/lift characteristics of the flight model? I've tried adjusting the idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=1.3000parameter but this doesn't seem to have any effect on the power required for break-away nor taxi speed maintenance. Thanks in advanceBobL

Is there a way to get the controls information in a C gauge? I'd like to read the joystick and throttle position in the code of my gauge.I know it can be made with FSUIPC (offsets 3328 to 332E), but is there a way to do this without FSUIPC?Thanks !!Eric

hi gents,i'm using Project Airbus A320 in FS2004 together with Eric Marcianos A320 panel - so far so good (still no navaids visible in ND, but that's another story)- i'm having a very sluggish and slow localizer capture, meaning, the aircraft is unable to capture the localizer in one piece and therefore swings left and right a hundered times before finally established on the localizer (most of the times too late before the threshold...)is there any parameter in the new fs2004 aircraft.cfg which controls the bank angle of the localizer capture? or which controls the ILS in general ? or do i need to dig into the airfile to correct this (and if yes, which section in the airf…

I am looking for someone who would be willing to repint the great Airbus A320-200 aircraft produced by Project Airbus in a jetBlue airline livery. You are welcome to pick any of the airline's numerous tail designs for your repaint. All I want is a good quality repaint a Project Airbus A320-200. Please will somebody help? Thank You, AVRicchio

I tried using Bob Bernstein's excellent scenery in FS2004, but only problem is that some of the trees appear as a black rectangular object. Has anyone tried this? I also installed Gray's tree library, but that did not solve the problem. Thanks for any help!Airbus

  10. I just downloaded some POSKY 747 jets and note that I can only see the limited view of the 2D cockpit, no VC or even the reduced cockpit mode. How do you tell FS2004 config to use the default 747-400 cockpit for all my POSKY 747 aircrafts?Currently the panel.cfg files all have this:[fltsim]alias=B747_400panelThis must be for the 2D and VC cockpit. Yet I only see the 2D cockpit (but no left, right, top views of the 2D cockpit).thanks,Cloud9

I am having a problem in getting the Pomans Meridian panel to work in FS9. The main panel has three layers, but they conflict with each other. All the gauges will show in you chose the layers individually, but when all three layers are on(which is normal) they end up drawing over each other. Also have had no luck in getting the GPS_Export.DLL to work in FS9. Have added it to the OldModules section but it still crashes FS9 at startup. Any help would be great

I have noticed a sizing problem with some XML gauges in FS2004, which did not exist in FS2002. I have noticed this problem in the Dassault Rafale panel developed by Cyril Pioffet and in the 737 NG panel by Kevin Sparkuhl. In both cases, the problem is the same: the display of the gauges have twice the size they should have. As I am not an XML gauge expert, does anyone has an idea about this? Thanks !!

Hello All,I have noticed a lot of threads about Fuel tanks and fuel selectors, but couldn't find a real solution to letting the selected tank actually be used. The aircraft I'm trying to get right in this respect is the Beech Super G 18 (fs2k2) that comes with two sets of Main, Aux and Tip tanks, a left and a right set.I have created a left and right five positiont fuel selector Xml gauge with the settings Off, All, Main, Aux and Tip. Visually these gauges work as expected, however it seems that in contrast to my expectations the engine keeps drawing fuel from the Aux and then Main tank in any gauge position. Except for the Off one, then the engine dies as expected. Additi…

Hi Guys,I would like to make small adjustments to some of the default planes in fs9, but I have no idea what and where to tweak.I feel that when a plane is deflected from its longitudinal axis using rudder and then the rudder is removed, the plane springs back to the original longitudinal axis too violently and sometimes exhibits characteristics of an underdamped oscillation. Are there variables I can adjust to damp the action of the restoring force when the rudder input is removed? Where are the variables located? How much adjustment might be needed? I would also like to modify some of the default planes so that the nose wheel steering in a tricycle gear airplane is …

Hi to anyone how knows about the parameters in the .air & .cfg files.I'm fiddling around with an .air file, to alter the way in which the flaps affect the amount of nose down pitch of a plane when a notch of flaps are deployed & the amount of lift that is generated. I think i've found the params that control the amount of lift, however I'm lost to know which params to edit in the .air file that controls the AMOUNT of nose DOWN pitch (in degrees) the aircraft experiences when a notch of flaps is extended.Basically what do i edit so that i can control the amount of nose pitch downwards when i extend flaps.... even as far as NO pitch change at all, just an increase i…

Maybe someone can answer these questions:1) Some freeware aircraft "too nervous" for me (i.e. small joystick movements result in hefty aircraft movements). What is the best approach to counteract this? I experimented with parameters like pitch_stability, pitch_moi and pitch_effectiveness but am still unhappy.2) Some aircraft don't seem to slow down in idle power but to fly at the same speed forever even if the motor is off. What value should I change (I tried the _drag_scalar parameters)?3) Some aircraft are building up so much drag when gear is down and flaps fully set that even when applying full power, speed decreases constantly (at zero ft v/s).How can I increase motor …

Hi FolksI know that GVARS can be used for many things, and to that end am building a TQ gauge that is simply a rectangle that "grows" dependant on the output of:(A:Eng1 torque percent, percent) (>G:Var6)The idea being to have GVAR6 determine the size of the rectangle. Cannot get it to work, as I guess I am not formatting G6 correctly:I assume it needs a conversion to an integer that the "RECTANGLE HEIGHT" can understand???any help is appreciatedSteve

I don't know how I missed it, but the "Panels SDK.doc" March 2002, has several pages of XML Gauge info near the end. It gives a list of the math operators. There are also a dozen string operators. "To put a string on the stack enclose it in single quotes: 'My String' ". I assume that could be copied as (>L:A_String,string). I also found there is a 'goto'. 'g1, g2, ...'. Which branch to :1, :2, .. :n . So, one should be able to synthesize loops for FS2K2 XML gauges. BTW, you can store s1, to s49. 'sp1' stores stack top in variable 1 and pops the stack. 'c' clears the stack. 'p' pops the top element off the stack. 'div' does an integer divide. '%' gives the re…

  25. Hi there, I'm working on a Trans-Hypersonic Passenger Aircraft. It is based on the Concorde .air file loosely, However, my aircraft accelerates nicely to well over Mach 4 @ 75k - 80k feet, in fact with the winds in favour, I have 'once' seen her hit Mach 5.03 !!!!! superb! (she can reach London UK to New Zealand in UNDER 5 hrs!!!) The engines are nicely tuned, so there is never any over speeding. & the aircraft is lovely & stable at ALL speeds. The problem is ....I seem to hit a 'wall' when my 'GROUND SPEED' reaches 2666kts.(Sometimes a few kts over, but never under.) - Irrespective of what my Mach & Airspeed are...(even when I reached 5.03, the groundspeed wa…
