Is there any guide that helps you with this program. The help feutre tat comes with this (the tutorial) is pretty weak. Sure, I can build everything the tutorials describe, but there is no documentation for this program. Any ideas? Thanks. I want to start building aircraft.

  2. Hi all,I Read in the Panel SDK tool kit, that one should use the Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler version 4.0 or higher. My questions is:Are any of you folks using other c++ compilers to develope FS2002 gauges? And if so, what are you guys/gals using? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi all,I understand when using Gmax, you have to apparently use a tool called makemdl.exe to convert the plane into the .mdl file for the sim to use. However makemdl.exe can't seem to reverse the process? & I cannot find any way to 'import' mdl files in Gmax. Does anyone know if a tool/program exists that CAN reverse the process to allow you to edit already existing aircraft, that were CREATED originally in GMAX? (I've found one that can convert mdl files from planes built in FS Design Studio, into Gmax. But not from Gmax back into Gmax?)I am flying a plane that I would like to get back into Gmax as a basis to work on & change it's shape to my suiting. (Basically …

Greets guys, this post is for a fellow designer that is having a hard time with the dynamic shine. He is a very talented guy and has picked up GMAX and 3D design rather fast, but this has been his roadblock and I fear that if he doesn't get it figured out, that he might give up design alltogether. If anyone can help with this I am sure the community will appreciate it very much!!Here is the link to his site and email, hope someone has some ideas. Howdy,Okay, know I have little (or no) ability at GMAX design, and was wondering if anyone was considering designing either one of these fabulous seabirds for 2K4? The only version of these birds are the Harry Follas ones which were done waaaaaaay back for FS98!If anyone is considering doing either one of these a/c, I can (possibly) lay my hands on a wealth of material to assist in the flight modelling aspect.

Question - I found the GMAX installer OK on the FS2004-ACOF disc, but I'm not seeing the game packs and so forth. I read on the MS site that it was in the GMAX folder inside the game folder. But there IS no GMAX folder inside the game folder on my complete install and I have a valid tin-box copy of FS2004 from EB Games. So where do I get the game pack with makemdl and imagetool and all that? Searching for a download on the MS site doesn't seem to come up with anything. Am I just confuised here, or is there some thing I need to know? LOL! Thanks!Cheers!Rick...

  7. Hi,A question about fuel & tanks..I'm setting up a 5 tank system in the cgf file: looking like this:[fuel]Center1 = -29.000, 0.000, 0.000, 7700.00, 0.00LeftMain = -49.000, -14.600, -4.000, 6545.00, 0.00RightMain= -49.000, 14.600, -4.000, 6545.00, 0.00LeftAux = -49.000, -20.000, -4.500, 1155.000, 0.000RightAux = -49.000, 20.000, -4.500, 1155.000 0.000The air file has been edited to have the same tanks & values, so that they match.When the plane is running it drains the L & R Aux tanks FIRST automatically before stating to use the L & R Main tanks...Basically I need the OPPOSITE, so that it automatically drains from the MAIN tanks first, leaving the …

Hi everybody!!It's a long time I'm trying to make a DVC work... I'm working with Aircraft designer 2002 v1.2 (look www.actpub.com)the matter is about what's truly inside a DVC...as I'm not able to make one work!!!!first we need to explore wht is inside the MDL:level 0) the header and the call instrucitons for assemblies... here also a texture list of the files used by the model, with some properties as normal ,alpha for reflections, or light-nigh mapping. also an index from 0 to 255 wich meaning I don't know, generally set 255, and a texture color, generally black...what this color mans, boh... level 1)a) the main assembly: your plane... b)the VC assembly: …

Hi all,I'm trying to create a module (dll file) that reads out the latitude, longitude and altitude of FS2002 (without using FSUIPC.dll).I use the following code to lookup the value of the latitude:MODULE_VAR latitude = {PLANE_LATITUDE};FLOAT64 FSAPI getlatitude( PMODULE_VAR val ){ lookup_var(&latitude); return latitude.var_value.n;}When I simply print getlatitude on the screen, I get the value 0x0040100F. I'm not a C++ expert, but this looks like a memory address to me. If I'm correct, I'm wondering if there's a way to read-out the value of the address and making the value of PLANE_LATITUDE visible. All comments and suggestions are welcome... :)Kind regards,http://ho…

Hey Everyone,A few friends and myself are going to start building a Raytheon Hawker 800XP. Why do we choose this aircraft? It is one of the best selling business jets, and it has yet to be modeled accuratley and no models are FS2004 compatible. We already have a modeler, but are looking for any others that are willing to help out. This is a Freeware project, and there will no deadline to fill at all. Some of the postions we are looking for are:-Painters-Modelers-Person with flight dynamics experience-Panel makingOr any other area you feel you can help in. I know this is a very informal "proposal" but we are serious about getting this aircraft into the skies of Microsoft F…

Hello all, firstly, I downloaded Arnie's FAQ guide, and have taken a cursory look into the SDK_Panel_Gauge html pages. So I believe I have taken the first step regarding gauge design. My question is. Can one design a gauge using the XML language that can produce lets say a sound when the aircraft exceeds MACH 1........WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE AN ASSOCIATED C++ COMPILED GUAGE THAT WORKSWITH THE XML GAUGE TO PASS INFORMATION TO THE SIMULATOR. For instance, to actually trigger (load a...) sound file that makes the bang?I see one individual in this forum had made a comment that he does not understand how to program in C++ and that he has made all kinds of XML gauges. I am a …

Hi all,Firstly, I had downloaded and carefully installed per instructions, the Sonic_bang.xml guage, and associated wav file: whmm7.wav, andsound gauge: XMLSoundv2.gau.The code for the sonic_bang.xml gauge looks like this:(A:Circuit general panel on, bool) Sonic bang (A:Airspeed mach, machs) 1 >= (G:Var2) 0 == && if{ 0 (>K:MAGNETO4_RIGHT) 1 (>G:Var2) } (A:Airspeed mach, machs) 1 < if{ 0 (>G:Var2) } Then included the sonic_bang.xml gauge into my aircrafts panel, put the the xmlsoundv2.gau and whm7.wav file into correct folders in ..GAUGE dir etc..In short followed instructions per designer. OK ......when I load the plane into the si…

What's the verdict on sound effects and XML in FS2004?Can it be done?I'm working on my first gauge. All it does play a .wav when you press a button. Very simple (so I hope). Also, does anyone know the code to play a simple .wav file in XML?Thank you from a newbie.
