Hi,Just showing some pics of a gMax project i am doing. It has been going about 1 week (ish) and these are the shots of the basic things. Most things are done, but i am going to do quite alot of it again, as you can see the Wingpod and nose are wrong, and i arn't too sure about the engines. Comments extremely welcome as i don't know what to think, i need other peoples opinions aswell. Also, please, no one give false opinions as that wont help - Be Mean if you have to be! I can take it, i got a can of coke right next to me so i will just fill myself with caffine :DThanks alotAndyhttp://www.flygbair.com/A321/A321_1.jpghttp://www.flygbair.com/A321/A321_2.jpghttp://www.fly…

Hi, I have a simple question..When one repaints the default DC3 plane (or any as a matter of fact) how is the texture underneath (rivets and metal) shown through your new paint? If I were to add a new logo to the fusealage do I make it opaque so the rivets and such show through or do I paint rivets and such over the logo? any help is greatly appreciated.CheersPhil

I have been using the event key KEY_HEADING_BUG_SET in my C gauges for years, like this:trigger_key_event(KEY_HEADING_BUG_SET, (UINT32)heading)It has always worked fine in FS2002, but doesn't work any more in FS2004. Do you know how to solve this before MS releases the FS2004 SDK?Arne, can you help? Thanks !!Eric

Another issue i have is to do with aircraft stability in turbulence..Other aircraft i have downloaded by other people seem to cope easilty with this & maintain their altitude whilst making an Autopilot turn in Turbulent air. However an aircraft I'm working on DOES hold it's altitude & turn nicely when the air is STILL, but if it tries to make a turn in turbulence, it pitches down gradually, trying to fight to stay at the same altitude... Only when the plane levels off again can the autopilot raise the nose & get the plane back to the altitude it was set to.Again, it only happens during Turbulence... Still air, it is fine & level. What causes this & what…

Is it possible to "override" the default MSFS autopilot with a custom-designed one ? Can this be done by creating a DLL module (not a gauge) ?

Hi,I'm writing some java autopilot code now (it's not for FS) and I want to see how it's done in FS. For example, if the plane is turning, does the code state something like(pseudo code):right aileron x degrees upelevators y degrees uprudder z degrees leftBut I guess this implies knowledge about flight charasterics of the plane.Or is it more something like:...while(bank_angle != 15

Has anyone "looked" at the relevant FS2004 *.dll's yet?I have extracted all the K Events, A Vars etc. and want to start categorising them. However, I also don't want to re-invent the wheel :-lolI havent had time to compare with the files in Arne's XMLGAU01. I am really keen to see what is new. :9Maybe someone can give me a hand with the categorising process? Have you looked at this yet Arne?Cheers Henning| P4 2.0 GIG | Epox 4G4A Motherboard | 1 GIG RAM | Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB | 80 GIG IBM Deskstar 7200 | Sound Blaster Live! |"You know that you are low and slow when you get a bird strike from behind..."

It's more a curiosity than a problem. In my PC and several others a gauge compiled with the VC IDE doesn't give any problems but in others the gauge crashes or FS says "unable to load". If the gauge is compiled and linked with a makefile there isn't any problem. I checked the options and everything seems alright. Is it a known problem?ThanksJos

Hi,does anyone can tell me how to react to events (like gear up) when programming a gauge in C?In the SDK there is a list with key event ids and I can find how to trigger an event but how do I make my gauge react to one?

Oh the challenges, they never seem to end.Latest problem: Object errors when viewed from interior vs exterior. Background: I am modeling speedbrakes for the Legacy. I am finding that when I export to FS, The brakes look fine from the exterior, but when viewed from the VC there are interferences, poly's projecting where they shouldn't, planes bleeding through. UGGGGGGGGGH !!!!!!Attached are two shots of just the brake elements. They are the same piece, exported with Middleman using the create interior function. When viewed from the exterior lines are clean and shapes where they should be. But the VC view is crap. I have the same problem if I create separate interior and ext…

Hi,I'm working on a DC-9-41 project and I'm in the process of modeling the fuel system.could anyone answer these questions....1) What is the freezing point of Jet-A fuel?2) Once freezing point has been met, how fast will ice accumulate and at what point would this seriously clog the fuel filters? (Assuming the fuel heater were not turned on.)3) Is there a basic formula for calculating the time it would take for fuel to cool from the takeoff temp to the cruise temp? A full fuel load would not immedeiately cool to the outside temp, but would do so over a period of time. (Hope my wording makes sense)4) what else can you add to this line of questions? Please share your exper…

Here's the story:I edit some sections of aircraft.cfg to my liking (e.g. increase pitch and roll stability, change the empty weight and MOIs). After I have flown the a/c, I close the fligtsim (FS2002) and look at the file, and it turns out the numbers are exactly as they had been before I edited them. Am I missing something here ? Should I perhaps get brutal and mess with the air file ? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Hello,I have never added AI aircraft to FS2002 or FS2004. I'm not talking about My Traffic or Ultimate Traffic. How do you make a flyable aircraft (downloaded from the net) to be AI aircraft? Is this possible without using special utilities? I only have the FS default AI aircrafts with some new paint schemes, but would like to add more. I've noticed on some freeware aircrafts, the author mentions using it for AI, but never tells you how to do it. It must be common knowledge?thanks,Cloud9

Anyone else think the landing light effect is a bit excessive? Same thing with taxi lights? Is there a way to reduce the size of the projection or is this built into the model? They light up half the airport.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/33083.jpg

Hi GangI want to extract the "static_cg_height" height from the aircraft.cfg file to input into a RADALT gauge for choppers. I want the RADALT to read zero when the chopper is on the ground, and right now I have to subtract the static height from the radalt height to make it zero. This can be a real pain when dealing with multiple aircraft.%((P:Units of measure, enum) 2 == if{ (A:Radio height, meters) 1.8 - } els{ (A:Radio height, feet) 4.3 - })%!3d!{dpl=RAD}Is there a way just to extract the info I need and input it into the gauge?Steve
