Finally got it right, with a little help from my friends...The short formula:~My window transparency is set to 50 pct. That is really key to any reflections. Basically, the more "solid" the surface, the more the reflections.~My texture color is black (personal preference, I know some prefer a slightly gold hue)~My alpha channel in the texture is pure black--I'm shooting for as much reflectivity as I can get. Realistically, an RGB value somewhere between 64 and 0 should yield the best results. Here's the before/after results. The before result had an RGB value of 128 for the texture alpha. This was very reflective in FS2002. In FS2004, only the specular lighting came …

Hi,As already known, there are some problems with panels, gauges and xml when putting your work from fs8 to fs9.Well, just installed fs9 and...there after my 767... :A total mess of bitmaps and nonfunctional xml.Almost a "hartattack" , switched back to 2002 and everything still ok, happily.I don't know what to do now, almost everything has to be corrected.Years of work (fun!)not functional anymore. No sounds etc.Next thing to do is copy fs9 scenery and effects to fs8??See General Forum!!One thing pro: Good Framerates!Btw. Got today also my medical and PPL-checkride; fixed again for another year!Shall i stick with real flying??Jan"Procul Negotiis"

Hallo,The "CLICK" and "DING/DONG" sounds work now. They are triggered by the Afterburner1 and 2 Events.(Have of course xml-sound and robsound gauges)But i didn't manage to get any other sound as eg. in the "Pushback Gauge" and the Afterburners 2&3.Who did and how?Has it something to do with the number of engines; 2 in my case?Jan"Procul Negotiis"

Hi All,I'm looking for someone to produce a file for either FS2002 or 2004 (preferably 2004) for the Rotorway Exec 162F self-build kit helicopter for a project in building a simulator for it in an old fuselage. I can supply drawings, photos and tech info and Rotorway have a good web-site full of info. Any offers?Best wishesTony VolanteMicro Aviator EditorFlight Simulator User [email protected]

When I test aircraft for which I am developing flight dynamics files, I like to do the testing in 'Standard Atmosphere' Conditions. I have just found that the weather condition you get when you select the calm, standard condition is badly non-standard. I began suspecting something when comparing speeds between FS02 and FS9. I had tested the atmosphere in FS95 and found it very bad for jets. In FS98 it was fixed and very close to 'Standard'. In FS2000 and FS2002 I just spot-checked a couple of cases and found no problem. But today I ran a test with the Learjet 45 and found lots of errors. I calculate the density ratio as the square of the KIAS/KTAS ratio. Here are some e…

On a 3rd party d'loaded a/c the brakes appear to be locked. With throttle, the a/c jumps violently, and willmove but with tire smoke and sparks. I know how to get into the a/c cfg file using notepad, but don't knowwhere in the file the brake, or tire, values are located. Please excuse what may seem a dumb question, but I'm new at this and would really like to be able to use this airplane. Thanks very much!

Well, I have finished the flight files. Boy what a b**ch!!!!!! But man does she fly nice, at least I think so. Bob Samuelson donated the original files, and I have kept his engine work, but I did a major revamp of the aerodynamics. Tooooooooo Smoooooooth!! May not be 100% but good enough for me, and I think a few of ya'll will like it.Now I just need to do some minor detail work, and whip up a brief flight manual, and she will be ready to go, FINALLY. Hopefully if everything goes OK she will be out in a few more weeks. First version will be for FS2002, with a FS2004 version as soon as I work out the texture and flight issues.Gotta run, Cheers to All!!Bob C.

HelloI have began making my first GA project A C-180/185 however I don't believe I can complete it myself, I don't have much knowledge concerning flight dynamics However I am a good modeler so if any group or a person wishes to complete this Cessna please contact me [email protected] pictures:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31421.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31422.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/31419.jpg

Panels aside, is it fair to assume that FS02 aircraft and repaints will work properly with FS04? I have a zillion FS04 planes and repaints and I'm not sure if I should be using them with this new version.MJC

I have a problem I hope some of you could help out with some advice.I am in the process of building a Cessna 337 and having problems coming up with a way to make the back wheel housing. So let me try to help make a picture of thisIf you look at the back you will see that it is not a flat panel but a panel that is curved. The closing plate I can create, but it

Hi,A couple of days ago I asked the same question but still haven't received any answers, so I give it another try hoping for better luck this time :-)My problem is that the taxi lights don't lit up the runway when sitting in the cockpit but the landing lights do. The aircraft I'm flying is MelJet's 777-200ER which is built in GMax, so it should work? The taxi lights do lit up the runway when looking from outside (spot view) but not when sitting in the cockpit. I've noticed that the default 777 in FS9 have both working landing and taxi lights, so I know it can be done and since the landing lights work as supposed the functionality seem to be in the aircraft model? If I onl…

I have been trying, albeit, unsuccessfully, to save a flight that will start up with a custom built Helicopter and panel. It worked perfectly well in FS2002, but it will NOT start as the default aircraft in fs2004 no matter what I do. The sim always defaults to the "stock" Bell 206 when it starts, then I have to switch aircraft to get it to work.Is there a parameter or "switch" that needs to be changed to allow me to start with an add on aircraft?Steve

Other threads were getting too long. Yes, there is an "IAS" problem in FS9. I flew my 727 in FS2K2. At FL 350, Mach =0.742, IAS was 250+/-0.3 kts. What I'd adjusted it for in the AIR file. I got a new AFSD that works in FS9 so could check very closely in both FS2K2 and FS2K4. Of course, I checked AFSD's 'environment' window to be sure the environment was ISA. In FS2K4, at Mach = 0.742, IAS read 254.7 kts. That's just about what it wouild read in earlier FS versions without correctly adjusting REC 1101 "Airspeed Weight Factor". The correct IAS is 250 kts, assuming the standard tables for compressability effect on IAS are used. That's how I calibrated the above fa…
