Hi,Would anyone know which params in the .air file control the strength of the aircraft when dealing with stresses...?The aircraft I'm working on needs to be more 'robust' when dealing with the accelleration & turning forces encountered. Escpecially when Sim pilots here have their 'realism' settings up to the max...Currently, with these realism settings down, the plane is fine. However move them to the max & the plane overstresses doing the same casual things!..So where & what do i need to alter to make the plane stronger?look forward to an answerRegardsAl

Hello, for the hardcore FS2004 aircraft designer, what's the technical benefit of using 3D Studio Max 5 ?The LAGO Falcon F-16 for FS2002 for example was made in 3D Studio.Quote: [ Fully designed in 3D Studio for optimal compatibility and excellent framerates (far superior to other commercial aircraft) ]

I really like the Cirrus SR22, however, only the SR20 exists in FS world. I have no experience in aircraft design but wonder if anyone can help with a conversion. The SR20 and SR22 share the airframe, the most significant difference between the two is the engine (SR20 - 200hp and SR22 at 300hp) along with the weight difference. Will an adjustment of the figures in the various cfg files make the necessary changes ? Is their a tutorial on how to do this ? Any help appreciated.Mark.

Hi,I am interested in designing my own cockpit for the B747-400, but I do not have much experiences... First I want to know how it is possible to create own .xml-files? I found the program "FS panel studio" and I am interested in this. But, how much can I do with this program? I want to use external switches and selectors for different functions, e.g. switching on external power, Main bat and so on. I use an old keyboard, and each function I want to control (e.g. gear up and down = G) I use an external switch. But there are a lot of functions I cannot configure to a keyboard-switch in the options menu. Can anybody help me or give me a link? Thanks and greetings from EDDF!St…

Can anyone tell me what the aircraft _t1.bmp files are used for? They exist in the lear45, mooney_bravo, and schweizr texture directories.===Carrier Landing: the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Hello,I have been playing with the aircraft.cfg's for several of the older aircraft in FS9. I ahve been trying to add trim to the Jenny and Vimy (virtual co pilot). I have looked in the .cfg files for both aircraft and, according to them, the aircraft have trim already, The lines for Trim_efectiveness are all the same for aircraft with and without trim and i cannot find any lines that would addremove trim. Does anyone here know what lines to modify in the aircraft.cfgs to add trim? Thanks,David Swindle

Greets all,Just wanted to post some info I found poking around in FS9. Trying to get a lead on some of the new aircraft features in lieu of the SDK. Anyone taking bets on when it will be released? If the 02 SDK is any barometer, I suspect we won't see it until December (at least). Anyway, here goes...While inspecting the default fs9 J3 in a hex editor, I noticed a few things:It appears as though control surface and VC cockpit controls are animated via FS variables, just as your XML gauges do. I believe CFS3 models actually used FS variables to control polygons for the gauge needles in VC's, instead of using XML or C gauges.I found something tagged "AMBIENT PRECIP STA…

Another question: it appears that some of the part textures overlap on the Lear 45. I've seen this using both Imagetool and DXTBmp. Any idea why?===Carrier Landing: the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Ok people, could someone here maybe enlight me with some algorithm-like thingy spitting out the DAYS between two given dates, i. e. b-day and the current. Speaking about C/C++. With leap years of course. :-) I'm gon crazy since of those leap years. ;-)So, if anyone has some idea, thanks in advance.Etienne :-wave

  13. Hi all,I'm after a gauge that can sustain a selected Ground Speed whilst in the air. Something very similar to how the Taxispeed gauge works that has been designed, (which does over-ride the auto-throttle,(if activated) & zeros the throttle when dissengaged.) except of course it makes a test that the plane in on the ground for it to work & has a limit of 40kts,)I need a gauge that works in the same way, except doesn't care that the plane is on the ground, (no ground test) & can be set into the 1000's of kts .... Before people start saying, "You don't want to do that!! - It's not realistic & could make a plane overspeed with relation to the wind, etc bla bl…

hi,yesterday, Eric released a patch for his excellent A320/A330 panel - couldn't find any description, what was changed (i didn't have any problems with V2.2 in Fs2004 except not working NavData...)but still, NavData is not working resp not showing any Navaids (VOR's, NDB's, etc) except the flightroute.i have installed nav_13.zip - so far so good - beside, that during installation, FS2004 was not found, NavData got installed in the FS9 directory. i can open fsnav99.exe an get all the data but the program is closing as soon as i try to rebuild the database.questions:1.)do u have any problems wih NavData in Eric's A320/A330 Panels?2.)do i need to rebuild the database within…

Hey gang, I just want to bring up something that has been discussed before, but has yet to be put into action. There is no need for a seperate "gauges" folder with your uploads. Simply place all your gauges into the panel folder. This makes deletion of an aircraft easier, we no longer have to search through the gauge folder for troublesome or unused gauges. just trying to keep things simple :-)joe

Recently it was found some individuals using the newly released Legacy 2000 where having problems with sim crashes due to the Legacy.Well, I was really beginning to get nervous. I am still new to this design game, and I was starting to wonder if the Legacy was going to die on vine, before it had a good chance to really get started.I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank our own Bill Leaming for coming to my rescue in my hour of need. After explaining the user symptoms to Bill in a frantic e-mail, I received back a warm memo saying he had downloaded the project but had not had a chance to try it yet. He would give it a try tomorrow, and let me know. Then, in his c…

  20. Has anybody been successfull in making this gauge work with this excellent freeware panel ?It always fails after about 10 minutes...I have the "electricity always available" line in the aircraft.cfg file set to 1.Running FSUIPC basic. Mind you, it should not matter as the TCAS gauge works just fine with other aircraft in FS2004.Neither Benoit nor Ariane seem know how to fix this . . .Thanks

Ok, thanks to Kevin in a previous post I checked and removed "Has Light Map" and "Has Damage Map" from my Middleman default settings, and Voila, nice stable chrome and reflective textures at night with lights on. Thanks a million Kevin. But, while experimenting with textures, and reviewing the FS9 texture files, I came upon something very interesting, possibly already known.I use Gmax, and it has always been said to use _t textures for reflective surfaces. Noting that some other aircraft I have downloaded lately did not use _t files (I think this is FSDS2 based) and still had reflective surfaces, I tried playing with the assignments in the Gmax material editor.I created a …
