Greetings,Need some help with two things. First, according to the documentation Shift+E+2 should put the virtual cabin in cruise mode. When I do it, it opens Maintenance mode (Shift+E) which looks kind of weird in flight! :-)Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong??Second, looking to merger this plane with the PSS 777 panel. I have the aircraft.cfg file pointing correctly, but the flight dynmaics seem a bit squirrelly and the plane bounces around on the ground and "leans" a lot. Anyone have any recommendations or have good .air and .cfg files for a 777 V2/PSS panel merge??Thanks in advance..Dave [email protected]

Ok, there has not been a "good" 747SP model for a number of years. IADG had one in the works, but what happened to the model? POSky had started one, but their 747 .fscs were accidently deleted. Is anyone working on one? Other than a pre G B-52 series, the 747SP is on the top of my wish list. If anyone is seriously interested in making one, I can provide several materials, including a very good .dxf drawing straight from Boeing. I hope this doesn't sound like a demand :-). Thanks

Does anyone know if it's possible (and if so, how) to use string-variables in XML gauges ??Eg: Printing %((A:NAV1 IDENT,string) )%!s! works fine. However, (A:NAV1 IDENT,string) (>L:Test, string) and then printing%((L:Test, string) )%!s!does nothing.Any ideas ??Rob Barendregt

Hi,My name is Tom. I'm new to computers, fs2004, and this forum. I've downloaded some aircraft and most of the time, I like the plane but the panel is disppointing. Is there a panel design or tweaker program that would let a novice like me change existing panels and/or make new one's. A tall order, I know. But, thought I'd ask anyway. Just want to say hello to everyone in this forum. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.Tom

Hello, this is my first attempt to add custom xml stuffs to my models. To make the gear stay parallel to the runway when on ground and during rotation, i add those lines between the codes of the xml new part.(A:SIM ON GROUND, bool) 1 == if{(A:PLANE PITCH DEGREES, degree) 5 * } els{0} and i set up a range of 40

Hello, I recently downloaded the terrific OMWINGS L1011 ( a trijet for those who dont know) panel and have a question regarding the fuel system. The panel uses 2 auxiliary tanks to feed engine 2 and the left main tank to feed engine 1 and the right main tank to feed engine 3. It looks like the panel just uses the default FS9 fuel system which drains the auxiliaries before switching to the mains. Would anyone be so kind as to show me how I could program the system so that the aux's feed engine 2 and the mains feed their respective engines (1 and 3)? Robert Williamson

Hi,I have written a gauge in GDI+ that compiles and runs fine. I kept adding things to draw, arrays of points, etc until I recieved a BufferOverrun message from FS9.exe when loading my gauge. After this, I proceeded to delete half of the drawing code, leaving me with far less code and arrays then were executed on previous successful executions of the gauge. Any ideas as to how to correct this?-Jon

Hi,I'm a rookie with FSDS, and started a project making a Cessna 180/185. Although I have most of the plane complete, I've hit a few snags, mostly related to my ineptitude with textures and an inability to 'perfect' my VC.I'm looking for any interested parties who might want to jump on board and help complete this project. In addition to the FSDS files I've completed so far, I have a 2D panel (two versions), and an .air file designed and tested by 3 RW pilots, including 1 with many years of 180 experience. I'll keep the names of the others confidential for now, but they are familiar around the sim community, esp. the 'local' bush forums. What I really need is:1. Someone ad…

Hi, I am looking for a stable way of converting Gmax files into FSDS. I currentlly have a part I built in Gmax, because it was more fitting to do so, but the plane I am building is in FSDS. I know there are ways involving exporting it using the Quake 3d mdl, the using 3d Exploration to convert it to Autocad, then importing the Autocad file into FSDS. Unfortunately, my trial period for 3d Exploration is up and I really don't want to pay $150.00 for the convenience of converting files. What I am looking for is a permanent way to do this, with a program I already have. Currently, I have at my disposal (if not on this machine), the following design programs:Autocad3ds Max…

I would have thought that (A:FUEL TOTAL QUANTITY,percent) read the fuel quantity from either the aircraft.cfg or the *.air file, which I assume it must. However, when using this variable to read the fuel quantity and display it in a string in XML, I have to apply a factor, depending on the fuel in gallons set in the aircraft.cfg, to get the string to read 100% when the tank is full.Example:Aircraft.cfg settings:fuel_type = 2number_of_tank_selectors = 1Center1 = -6.870, 0, 0, 75.000, 0electric_pump=0number_of_tank_selectors = 1 Fuel set to 1 tank, 75 gall capacity. So to get that to read 100% when full I have to do this:%((A:FUEL TOTAL QUANTITY,percent) 3.512 * d 0 == ?)…

Hello,Is it possible to model wing-flex in turbulent conditions ? I think i remember seeing the wings of a Posky 747 flex during some turbulence once...not too sure.also if possible, would this be a realistic feature to add to a twin engine GA ?My first and only (really) windy flight in a GA was in a C172, but i was concentrating so hard on the instruments that i barely looked out the window! :-shy I've added a wing-flex using the l/r_gear name with the wings flexed slightly upwards at key frame 100 almost level at 140 and flexed slightly downwards at 200, and gives a very nice effect to the model.thanks, http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http:/…

I am modifying a panel for the DC-8 and have everything just right with the exception of the A/P. The A/P uses RKG_Buttons (Version 9/24/2002). I have a newer version in my gauges folder (8/24/2003) but it does not seem to have the a/t button. The problem is that the AutoThrottle does not work and I cannot manage speed. Any ideas ?I am willing to switch out the entire A/P system if necessary but again not sure how to do that so everything will work correctly. I have to think the person who made the panel originally had it working so it is just something simple that I should be able to correct.Just to check I reloaded the original panel and it does not work there eith…

I am trying to implement an "Autoswitch" using the (new) Time of Day variable. While I have no trouble displaying a string, I'm having difficult with the exact command syntax to TOGGLE_BEACON_LIGHTS, which I'm going to use to switch on/off .fx cockpit lighting. Here's what I have so far. Perhaps some XML experts can fill in the missing blanks. The two strings simply display the actual values for Time of Day and Beacon Lights for testing purposes... :)%((E:Time of Day, enum))%!1d!%%((A:Light Beacon, bool))%!1d!%(A:Light Beacon, bool) 0 == (E:Time of Day, enum) 3 || && if{ (K:TOGGLE_BEACON_LIGHTS) ! Hi FolksI always want my radAlt to show zero when a helicopter is actually on the ground. As it is, it appears that the radalt is positioned according to static_CG_height setting in the aircraft.cfg, so when on the ground it shows THAT number as opposed to zero. Now that is Ok I suppose, but when in a helicopter coming in for a "gentle" landing, I want the radalt to show the height of the chopper skids above ground, NOT the staic Cg Height. So, putting on my thinking cap, I came up with this:(A:SIM ON GROUND,bool) (A:Ground velocity, feet per second) 0 == && if{ (A:Indicated Altitude, feet) (A:GROUND ALTITUDE, feet) - (>L:aircraftheight, feet) } (A:Radio height,…

Hi there. Can anyone tell me how to get ride of the black dags on the edge of transparencies. I've noticed that some 2D panels are free of this problem, whereas others - my experiments included - resolve with a line of dark/black pixels along the angled edges of the windscreen. I've ensured that the edges are composed with a 'dissolve' format at 100% opacity (in the pencil or line options in the graphics program) as a means of producing clean sharp lines, but this seems not to fix the problem.Any ideas?Cheers,Matthew.
