Hi, I have a FS4 gauge in development (should be published here soon as freeware) that works fine and dandy on three test machines. Two use XP, one uses W2K. I have one tester who can't get the code to load. The gauge blows up on his XP system with an aircraft/gauge error after selecting it from the a/c menu. This prevents the airplane from being loaded. This only occurs if the panel.cfg makes a reference to the gauge file. The panel.cfg is properly configured.I'm thinking that it's because a required runtime DLL isn't on the system. I walked through the code with dependency walker, and determined that the runtime library msvcr71.dll must be on the system in the win…

i have posted a download on my homepage: http://home.earthlink.net/~maddoccanis/index.html that contains three airplane models. they are sort of beta test models and are still being polished, but i wanted to give people a chance to play with them. suggestions will be welcome. the three planes aare white knight without spaceship1, white knight with spaceship1 and spaceship one. wk will carry ss1 to altitude. to release ss1 use shift e. then move to the other aircraft and fire the hybrid rockets. the fuel is very limited (unless you have infinite fuel set), but if you climb quickly you can watch the fuel guage drop and the altimeter register over 328000ft! the speed brake o…

Hi There!!I have the interesting problem that my P-166 plane is able to take off at idle thrust..:-eek ..it's a small twin prop (big almost like a Cessna Caravan) powered by two PT-6A-121 rated at 615 SHP... indeeed an STOL aircraft performing a max speed of 250 KIAS with great acceleration for takeoff (real data there...)!! but it should taker off only if you PUSH FORWARD THE THROTTLE...:-bluegrab..IT REACHES THE v1 AT 80 KIAS AFTER HALF THE RUNWAY...then with little effort you can go around the runway at 100 ft altitude and land again at 0

Is it possible to edit the refresh rate of the gauges in the Virtual Cockpit. The refresh rate in the default aircraft is ok, but in some addons it is just unacceptable and makes it impossible to fly the aircraft precicely. The gauges just acctualize once a second or so, but for the VSI and attitude i think it requires minimum 10 times a second.I already tweaked my system to have a constant FPS of 17 and the sim runs fine but the gauges dontDoes this happen on every system ill be grateful for every tip

Hi all! This is my first post here.I've looked over the old posts and can't find anything to help.My problem is that I'm new to gauge programming and I'm trying to use the Panel SDK examples as a starting point to learing gauge programming. Programming itself isn't a problem, I've been programming with C++ for years. The problem is, when I tried to use VS.NET to compile the sample gauges, I couldn't get it to work. What particular hoops do I need to jump through to get this working? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions! :-DRattlehead

hi does anybody know where I can find repaints of the above mentioned planes that use Level of Detail modeling for AI traffic? I've been able to find a few here and there, but I have a feeling there's lots more. I know FSPainter has LOD models of these planes, but the official FSPainter site seems to have disappeared.Thx!

A request for FS2004 developers,I removed the Red Parking Brake text message. Now, I can't easily tell if the brakes are set, doh! Obviously, if you aren't moving when power is applied and the engines are turning, you must have the parking brakes on. Unless, of course, someone has tied a rope to your tail and the other end to an immovable object as a joke!My request for realism purposes, is a parking brake handle or an indicator light that you can check as you complete checklists for parking brake off or parking brake on.I like flying GA aircraft, in particular, the King Air 350, but something that fits a wider range of aircraft would be nice.Any takers? Thanks,Jay Otts

Does anyone know if it is possible to independently adjust the forward view pitch angle as seen from a VC - without using a VIEW statement in the panel.cfg statement or changing the eyepoint values in the Aircraft.cfg file? The first affects the view from the 2D panel which I want to stay as I already have it and the second affects the perspective of the interior view which I also have pretty much as I want it. My only problem then is that the nose sits too high and I can't see forward from the VC with same outside scenery perspective that I see from the 2D panel.Stan V.

I've made a simple gauge to turn off my landing lights if I raise my gear, but leaves them alone when the gear is lowered. This is a miracle in itself as the only programming I've done is batch files from the old pre-internet BBS days! (note the high-tech use of tug_disable! LOL) It works, but I've run into Rob's oft-warned-of-phenomenon of not being able to select more than one of anything (ie. second exit, second engine, pushback directions, etc). So is there a better way to do this, or should I just limit my use to single engined/single exited non-pushback-able acft? (yeah, I know it's not a real word *grin*)I've tried variations of typical light gauges that toggle_l…

I give up! I cannot find any documentation of the various "Value" parameters in XML gauges, which appear to have more or less plain English phrases. Can anyone please explain what A:Value I should be using for the control knob element for an EGT gauge bug (reference pointer) - and what A:Value for the bug needle?

I'm hoping that someone here can help who might have had a similar problem to mine. I have edited several existing sound sets that I downloaded for the 747-400 as I couldn't find any that were just right for what I have in mind and I am pleased with my finished result. OK no problem there so far. Last night I downloaded a different panel to the one I had previously downloaded and installed and there was no problem with the new installation and also it works very well as far as I can tell but since then I am only hearing flaps and wind sounds on the left channel. I then tried other panels again and I think it is only the latest one that has the problem. Then, with the late…

I have the Dreamliner aircraft with the Dreamliner panel. The radio frequencies are lit but the radios don't work contacting ATC. The avionics bus is not on. What parameter in the model or aircraft.cfg sets it on? I installed an avionics switch which does the trick. Some planes work without the Avionics Bus switch. I did check the radio and electrical settings in the aircraft.cfg. Thanks, Bob.

I'm trying to slap a new gauge onto an old panel and want to get the "looks" of the two gauges to match. Unfortunately the new gauge's frame is a different color from the old panel's bitmap. I was wondering if it was possible to place the gauge "behind" the bitmap, so that the bitmap will mask the frame of the gauge.Regards,-Lee Barberhttp://home.nc.rr.com/uniuniunium/dvasig.jpg

Options have "Weld Points" and "Optimize" unselected.I find after export of a exterior/interior model, and viewed in FS, the exterior model is perfect, but the interior version of the same object has had vertices in close proximity welded. A sample picture is attached of a water pump I am working on. Particular area's of note are circled in yellow. It appears when converting the exterior model the "User" options are …

A little section of code for another one of my gauges. Trying to display 1 of 4 images based on a value range. Found that dividing the ADF1 Signal by 180 gives about the right distance for each of the imgaes to display. Also found that using "div" verus "/" gives whole number with no fraction. Used String to display and results look good 0,1,2,3,4 and so on... But with the following only the "RH_Sig0.bmp" will display..?? ((A:ADF1 SIGNAL, enum) 180 div)Qustion; Can "Case Value =" support conditonal ranges? ex: Case Value= "0 = ! 140 %lt"Many thanks....

I have the code setup properly with one exception; I want the click spots to only work when the AUX TRIM (atswitch) is ON, when it is OFF I do not want those click spots to work.
