I am trying the tutorial flight, and note that when I go to select a STAR, I seem to have a different list available to me- the FRANZ6 is not one of then... is there a navaid update or something that I need to do? Also noted that when selecting the airway V98, instead of 3 to choose from I only had 2... I just downloaded and purchased this from Just Flight on Friday evening so assume my copy is current? Folks I'm at the limit of my very limited knowledge of FSX inner workings and need some help. I'm trying to tidy up my scenery library. I get the basics on order, but just want to clarify - do all the airports go above everything else? Would have thought they should be above LC/UTX type things. Also, is there a way to edit in note pad, rather than the FSX scenery library settings window? It's not the fastest way to move a lot around, and is temperamental to say the least! Cheers Mike

Hello, I need some help with sweetfx. I really love the current setting I have with Sweetfx, however, a part of it is quite unrealistic at night. The wing is COMPLETELY lit up, like, I can see everything on the wing. Realistically, at night, the wing shouldn't be visible at all. Like this: Does anyone know of the setting in the SweetFX config file to change it to be more realistic? Or maybe a better preset? Thanks

I've sent my x52 off for repairs, and it will be quite awhile before its back, and in the meantime I found my Logitech ps3 style controller and I wanted to know if this would be ok to use as a substitute for the time I'm without my joystick?

All of my GPS's are missing from my Carendo planes they were there the other day and now its just a black texture where the GPS should be. The GPS is working fine in my milviz B55 tho.

I am thinking of buying the FlyTampa Dubai since the PMDG 777 should be releasing very soon. I have FlyTampa Buffalo and FlyTampa St. Maarten, and both are great addons with decent frame rates (at least on my system.) So, who out there owns FlyTampa Dubai? How are the frames compared to other FlyTampa products? How is the quality compared to some other good scenery addons? Thanks, Nathan3219

Hi, All of a sudden I don't have the zoom, parking brake and brakes messages showing up on my screen. I have checked my config file and the correct lines are there. Is there a key I may have pressed that cancels the messages? Many Thanks Rob

Are there any FSX AI seaplanes that will land on water with the wheels up? If not is there any way to modify an FSX seaplane so it can be an AI seaplane and land without landing gear down? Thanks, Bob.

I have Saitek‘s flight controls (X52 Pro and rudder pedals) and I fly Carenado’s SR22T in FSX. When the plane is level and I move the stick sideways, the plane banks….when I release the stick to center, the plane stays banked. When the plane is level and I move the stick forward, the plane angles down and starts to descend ….when I release the stick to center, the plane stays angled down…(putting aside the effect of trimming). My problem is the rudder when maintaining the localizer on an approach... When I am heading 080, I use right rudder to a heading of 090….when I release the rudder, the plane almost snaps back towards my original starting point …

looking for a GA that can do say 400+ KPH. Not interested in airliners. I have the Duke turbine and the Epic Victory which are great. Anything like them but faster?? thanks..................Bill

When I take off in aircraft I often see white trails coming off the wingtips. Is this FSX or addon dependent? Is there a way to turn them off?

Hello My Geforce 560ti 1GB card arrived today but with no driver CD so can anyone recommend the best driver for me to download for the card?. I have also been reading about the Nvidia Inspector and have a couple of questions. Do I need this to run FSX and it is easy to set up? I have been used to ATI/ AMD cards for years and would like to do it right first time. Many thanks Darran

Excited to see what Lockheed has done with fsx. Sloped runways maybe? Idk. Haven't looked into it.. I'll find out soon though. Who knows maybe I'll start using it or maybe I will hate it and stick to what I know with FSX.

Gents, I have both MT and UT on sealed DVD's laying around. I run SB4 with VIP-models and paperplanes... I don't want to use AI-traffic as I only fly online, but I would like to install one (or both?) of the traffic addons I own, then use the SMSCreator from ******* to make myself a reasonably good model library for SB4 to use. Does anyone of you bright heads here know if any of the two mentioned addons can be installed, cannibalized for SMSCreator use, and then be removed again, without messing up my FSX install? My main problem is that I don't understand how AI-traffic addons work. Do they mess with my scenery.cfg, terrain.cfg or dll.xml or other system file…

I know FTX regions and UTX were not compatible even when used in different regions. And now that FTXGlobal introduced that Hybrid switch, I'm thinking if I could install FTX EU England over UTX Europe in the scenery library, turn Hybrid mode on in FTXGlobal, then enable both FTX England and UTX Europe and fly between England to Europe? Honestly I'm even afraid just to enable FTX England and UTX Europe at the same time and enter FSX. Has anybody experimented with this yet? Thanks, Dirk.

I just installed FSX,Deluxe Edition on my computer ( Windows 7,64 bit ) after I had a nasty computer crash. FSX was not installed om the default directory as I created a special folder for it. It seems to me that on previous installations I had a folder containing many flightplans. But I cannot find them anymore and wonder if my computer still has problems. This has nothing to do with this forum, I just want to get this out of my system. Thanks for putting up with this. I just accidentally deleted every single one of my FSX backups, Aircraft/Airports/Scenery/Everything! Including XP10! Of course I did this by a failed partitioning idea! But I was in the process of restarting a FSX reinstall for a different purpose! I've lost everything, mind you I just need to go through and redownload all of it, which should take like 5 days total, 150Mb/s connection, but I have to remember everything I had! This sucks!

Back in 2004, William Shea created renditions of three New England island airports for FS9, They were KMVY (Martha's Vineyard), KACK (Nantucket) and KBID (Block Island). They were very impressive scenery's with emphasis on the proper placement, design and texturing of the terminals and adjacent buildings. He captured the proper aging of the shingles texture to the traditional Cape Cod motif. When I switched to FSX, they were the first scenery's I installed to see if they showed properly, or not. This is beta only and is subject to testing and subsequent tweaking as required. To have a new aircraft added to the fuel planning section of vroute, what the developer requires is that a volunteer does a bunch of test flights and collects the required data to calculate in-route/taxi/minimum/etc fuel. I volunteered, and certainly could use assistance/feedback from other Q400/vroute users. I have an annoying problem with the sim being overwhelmed with repeating key strokes. I do NOT believe that this is a keyboard issue because I have been through four keyboards and all have had the same issue. I took a screenshot with the V key and the sim gets overwhelmed and when I ALT+ENTER out the key continues to get stuck so that if I press the windows key in the search window I get vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv. The only thing that stops it is to restart the computer. Has anyone ever had this. A google and forum search revealed nothing. :wacko:
