I know this has been ask in the past . But how to make the night texture look a little darker with out having to use ENB,SweetFX or tweaking your monitor settings? I know shade helps a little but what about the water color how can i change that grey kind of look you get in the night?

Does anyone have an MD-11 repaint of the Overland MD-11 for either FSX or FS9? Could you please upload it? Been looking for one for days. Thanks, Bigrobmjca

Hi, I'm starting up FSX then linda kicks in. Once I've got my aircraft on screen and ready I'm alt tab to OPUS and running the FSserver. When I go back to FSX all I have is a black screen. Every thing seems to be OK, If I run the throttles I can hear them rev up, select a radio, again hear the voices. If I escape out and get the free flight menu I can then see that but hitting enter gives me the black screen again. Sometimes its kicked and all works OK but I've not figured out what does it, so can anyone tell me whats happening or where I'm going wrong. I am not sure why this green airport information bar started showing up on my FSX screen? I have looked thru the menu options and can't seem to get rid of it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I completely deleted all my FSX keys so I could customize them . Now I'm trying to get into FS Dreamteam ( GSX and JFK ). Shift+Control + F 12 brings up GSX. Control + F1 brings up You Control. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the default ATC is trying to kill me with its directions. I'm looking for advice on a good atc program. I fly the 737 ngx pretty much exclusively and also run UT2 & Rex. I am probably going to pick up fs2crew (this looks good would anyone recommend or not recommend it?). I tend to fly ifr.

Hey guys, I know quite a few of you use Saitek gear with FSX. I posted in the hardware forum this question, but don't think many go there (I know I hardly do) Got a new Saitek TPM unit to use with FSX. Is it normal for the knobs to be a bit wobbly on these? In particular the throttle knob on mine has a bit more side to side play/wobble than the prop and mixture, and when you go to push or pull the throttle, the knob itself moves about 1/8" or so forward or back on the shaft before the shaft itself starts to move. Just wondering if this typical for these units, or perhaps I need to exchange it. Thanks

Hi, the l-39 does have a gps, but no nav/gps switch nor active AP. The l-39 cfg does have an autopilot section but I am not sure if the author actually did any testing with the entries and whether or not setting the appropriate values to "1" to turn it all on would be enough. I am looking to refine it a little bit if necessary for the l-39 so that it is a little more appropriate for this type of aircraft and it's characteristics if anyone has any feedback. There was one thread out on a forum as an example, but the AP acted really strange when I used the values. On an ILS approach it would only work with nav2. I need a solution for complete worldwide charts, including terminal parking (an important feature for me). So far I've either used or researched these various freeware/payware options, software, and web based solutions: Freeware web based charts.aero - missing major countries (Canada, China), missing terminal parking aircharts.org - same as above skyvector - same as above chartfinder.vatsim - many charts are outdated by as much as 7 years airnav - us charts only etc. Aivlasoft EFB - It's nice, but it draws it's data from navigraph AIRAC cycles, which sometimes don't include complete information on the charts (altitude crossing restrictions) which forces me to lo…

Afternoon, After a week at lovely Fort Benning I'm looking forward to getting home to some flight time with the PMDG T7. Angle of Attack is really pushing the new PFP-X product from the makers of the TOMCAT software and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using it yet. Seems fairly expensive without a chart service and I already have FSC9 for planning. Anyone have an opinion of this product yet? I use ForeFlight for my GA flying and flight planning but was wondering if I need to upgrade to PFP-X for my tube flying and long hauling - airliner flights. Stephen

Hey all, I recently discovered Sky Blue Radio and the Wee Tune Beastie software. I'd seen it around for the last 10 years or so in the hobby but never felt compelled to try it. So 2 days in from trying it, I would make that far to often quoted statement :- "I couldn't fly without it". I had the free demo of WinZip that has just expired. I really liked it , but am wondering if there's a free one out there that is just as good or should I just go out and purchase WinZip ?

Folks, if you have suffered like me over the years with the dreaded flickering cursor whenever you rotate views to the 'main panel' view, I thought I would let you know, I have found a straightforward way to cure it. I know there are other ways, and I have spent many long hours using these other methods, adjusting panels and window sizes painstakingly from aircraft to aircraft. Rather impressive freeware from here. Thing is I have glitches. Looks like a building is missing and the runways all have a black wall. Anyone else have this installed and have the same issue or did I get a bad install some how?

I don't know if I will do this but I didn't like what I saw w/ FTXG in areas of California where I fly a lot--except at night! What FTXG did for night flying is fabulous but I didn't like what I saw for pretty much everything else. I would love it if I could have the lighting but not the rest in the US and retain all of FTXG for the rest of the planet. Is it possible for them to coexist do we know? It might be a little early to say this as I've be so enamored w/ dusk flying I haven't looked super close to day time textures from FTXG so just reviewing the options... I have been experiencing problems with both the Wilco CX and Legacy for years. I have requested wilco/Feelthere support over time only a wilco independant consultant has been kind enough to reply. My question is how the animations of the FA Work. they seem to Work ok in Legacy...but in the cx the FA just stands still on the aisle thrpught out any flights the consultant replpied to me yesterday assking me to look at FSUIPC and see if from there one can trigger the animations. here is what he wrote: I see that the flight Attendant is still making what she wants when she wants. Hi, all. Newby to FSX here. I'm taking a flying lesson, so that expecting FSX to give me some more virtual practice. I have an FS app on my iphone, it's called Infinite flight. What I like is it has a replay function which allows you to replay your fly. You can change your view from cockpit to outsides. It's extremely helpful for landing practice for I can see my posture and come in route from a tower view. Until now, I haven't figured out if FSX has the same funtion? Further more, Infinite flight seems more real to me because if my speed or angel is wrong, it will crash or bounce up on runway, but FSX seems no matter how you operate, the virtual Cessna will a…

Hey folks, Is there any way to use FS9 water in FSX? I have a payware FS9 water add on that I really like (Real H2O V2). I miss this water since migrating to FSX. I'm currently using REX water for FSX which I really like as well (I also have FEX). But the thing I really like about Real H2O for FS9 is the feeling of depth with the water especially when flying low. Also, what about sky and sun textures? Can the ones from FS9 be used in FSX. The FS9 water add on I mentioned also included a sun and sky texture set that I really like. Thanks

I've been fancying a new off-line ATC program for some time, and have been very interested in Pro ATC X. I've watched a ton of videos on YouTube, and there's just one thing that consistantly bothers me about what I see;- During take-off clearances, for IFR airliner flights, I keep seeing the tower give 'odd' initial altitude clearances, such as ;- Cleared for take-off, runway heading, climb and maintain 4300 feet (4,300?) Cleared for take-off, follow published SID, climb and maintain FL095 (95 ... ?) I think you get the idea! ......... why is Pro ATC X always appearing to give 'off' altitude clearances, eg, 4,300 rather thatn 4,000 and FL095, instead of FL0…
