Who cares at this point? Not me. FS2002 has been out for 10 months, and people are all ready talking about fs2004.Here is what will be said about fs2004 when it is released.1. The frame rates suck.2. The air files suck.3. The scenery sucks.4. ATC sucks.5. How come there arent any gates at my airport.6. The frame rates suck.7. The scenery sucks.8. Where is the patch.9. The clouds are flat.and on and on and on, ad nuseum.Does this sound familiar? Remember folks, this is a $70-80 game, not a 4 axis Cat D full motion simulator that costs $40 million.

Hi,I've been working with Flight Sim 2002 and the CH Control Manager and I think I've found a much easier way to get them to work together. The method involves adding "Aliases" to the DEVICES.CFG file that ships with Flight Sim so that it recognizes the Control Manager Devices by name, then creating a map for the devices that plays into what FS is expecting. It seems to be giving me all the proper assignments, both in normal flight and in slew mode.I've only run it under Windows XP Pro and Flight Sim 2002 Pro, there are some notes in it on what I expect will happen under Windows 98, but that's still untested.If you're interested, I've posted an article on the web that you…

Downloaded saab panel from Igor Sporonv(sp) and it crashes fs2k2 back to desktop. Anyone else experience this or have a fix? Have Windows XP.

Hi guysHaving been flying ga aircraft for some time now, i thought it about time i started flying something a bit bigger. I've attempted the 737 lessons but have found them rather lacking in background information regarding the fundermentals of flying a 737. Can any of you guys point me to a site where i may find this information.Also, when i attempted to load a 737 lesson, i received an "aircraft initialisation failure - boeing 737-400" message. The lesson continued to load, although i could only use a 737 is that was the last aircraft type that was flown. Hi all,I downloaded the new 727GMAX and added the panel and sounds I use on the American 727 package. I have these wonderful wing views (sorry...I didn't include a pic of this) that I activate with my joystick (right rear and left rear) or with the num keys, 1 and 3, on the American package. I've looked at the panel config and aircraft config on the American 727 where I have normal wing views. However, on the new plane, I CAN'T GET THE AILERONS OR THE FLAPS TO SHOW! What am I missing here. Please tell me how to correct this. I'm only hoping you understand my problem here. I've copied the panel exactly. Where are the missing files? Stan

hey all!i know, that must have been posted thousands of times, but i'll write an e-mail to microsoft with suggestions for fs2004. i know, they won't take it serious, but it's worth a try! :)here are my suggestions:- better ATC (i'd love to have holding patterns! once i had this ATC-comment: "bmi 303, you're cleared to land runway 24L, number 9 for landing. follow boeing 747..." => sorry, but NUMBER 9???)- better ground textures at the airports! the default ones are ugly (e.g. KLAX, KORD, ...)- more realistic airports with gates, moving catering-/fuel-trucks, follow me bus and stuff (FSNat?)- bigger difference between Standard and Pro (but the same price! :-hah :-hah ) …

I just installed Emma Field and love it. Hopefully we will see many of these features in the future both in and out of the box versions. I strongly belive that there are many aspects of FS that MS needs to address first (weather, ATC, AI) but for overall ground candy this stuff is hitting the nail on the head. The idea that the grass gets mowed on certain days and if the weather is good then other things happens really brings this sim to life. I just wish that you could adjust the volume on the sound effects. Thats the only draw back I see.Kilstorm

Greetings,I just encountered a problem with my mouse in FS2002 last night. The mouse behaves strangely when you enter the sim after it loads. It acts normal when navigating the setup menus, aircraft selection, airport selection, etc.. As soon as the scenery loads and you enter the sim, the mouse responds very slowly to your commands and sways like you have very little control.I tried swapping the mouse with my old one and had the same problem, so I doubt it's the mouse itself. All my other programs work fine with the mouse. I looked under settings and it appears to OK. The mouse is one of the Logitech roller ball type. I've used it for a long time and never had a proble…

Hello!OK, I was flying along in the cessna 208 float plane and when I was around 200 feet above the water, my water motion started to work!This wouldn't be a big deal for most Geforce 4 users except that I am using the MX440 series.When I had my GF2 MX card, ALL the effects were working fine, including aircraft reflections and water motion effects. This changed of course for those of us using the new GF4 MX line of cards.Well, per the recomendation in another post, I have been using the "trick" to get my aircraft reflections to work, and now I am starting to see my water motion on lakes, rivers, and the ocean starting to be visible, but only below 200 feet AGL.So, does a…

people who don't think that "eye candy" has anything to do with real flight! Or at least not of importance. Reminds me of the time I was crossing the Atlantic in a B747 looking at icebergs in the area that they found the Titanic a few days later. Can anyone help me with an annoying problem. when using fs2002 real weather, the default aircraft all show the corrcet temperature at say 33000 ft of approx -45C, but using any of the PSS aircraft, or more importantly the DF 737, it reports a far higher Temp of -20C or so. On changing back to a default aircraft it again show the correct Temp. This temperature difference is also noticible during the climb, and really affects performance. Hi everyone!Hope you can help me out with a small problem.I recently transferred my computer "guts" to a new aluminum case and knocked a resistor off of my video card (GeForce 2...FS2k2 worked beautifully with it). I figured this would be a great chance to upgrade, so I got a PNY GeForce 4 MX 440. I installed the latest Detonator drivers for it and everything. The computer runs fine, but FS2k2 won't display reflections even when I select them; also it looks like there's no anti-aliasing. Hi Folks,I've been messing around with TTools, AFCAD, and Project AI for several months now and am pretty pleased with the results. However, a lot of my AI aircraft are now appearing in the UI aircraft select menu... not a major problem - but irritating nonetheless (I don't want to fly them without a decent panel). How do I "hide" the AI planes from the UI interface? I remember seeing this topic before - but haven't been able to find it using the search engine. I think it involves modifying the .AIR file - but I haven't been able to find the right parameter using my FDE editor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,MarcP.S. I downloaded Sandro's 747/Shuttle, unzipped it and moved it into my FS2002 aircraft folder but don't see it coming up in my aircraft library for selection. Will someone please take me back to Flight School 101 and remind me of the simple fix for this.This bird combo has stopped through the Houston area several times at Ellington. More amazing than the sight of the rolling city, is how quickly it gets off the ground. Hello,I saw tons of post about futur MsFs, There is many wish thats will simply not as good as you want. Dreaming on realistic weather like real life will be not in fs2004 like you think, the exemple is CFS3 looks ok but still millions years from real, still cartoons, dreaming on realistic Aircraft System will be not in fs2004 like you think etc etc... Have a P4 1.7GHz 512MB RDRAM, GF2 MX440, Intel 845 Mobo. My FPS are around 20, 15 at Simflyer's with scenery density no higher than dense. However, this is a little slow, and I'd like to crank up the sliders and get better quality. I was thinking perhaps a GF4 4400 or 4600 and 512 MB of PC3000 RAM to replace the RD.Thanks for any help,Greg

Hi all,I am in the process of building a new system based around a P4 2.2GHz, GF4 4400Ti and SB Audigy player mounted on a Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo. My 'old' drive contents (o/s :Windows 98, fully updated, but NOT a formal 2nd Edition (Windows98SE) installation) have been imaged onto a new IBM 120GXP 40GB and all seemed well. The 'old' original system is still up and running and is very stable. My intention is to achieve a dual boot system with Windows XP on a second drive.Before I proceed to install Windows XP I need to ensure that my imaged W98 installation is still stable. I want to create an overlay airport using Afcad. However, I'm having a slight problem. I created an overlay using the example within the Afcad help files to create an overlay for KLAX. I followed the instructions to the letter, and tested the new overlaid airport in FS2002. Everything appeared to be fine. Then, I went to add the new airport in Traffic Tools so as to create flights using the new overlay. When I go to compile, I notice the new airport is recognized, but then when the flight plans start to compile, the compiler stops at a certain point and crashes. I found the flight plan number where the compiler crashes and can not think of any reason why it would do so. H…
