As some of you know, I have been working on a Grumman Duck project, a WWII era aircraft. As far as I know, so far, this aircraft had a 200 U.S. Gallon fuel tank. Now, that's where things get interesting (as well as for sim flying other WWII era aircraft).I had just finished reading a note in the Stearman Kadet cfg file that the leaded gasoline used during WWII was 7% denser than the U.S. aviation fuel used today. That would mean that if you are going to fly WWII birds today, for example, my Duck, it should hold only 186 gallons of fuel?? I disagree. My reasoning for disagreement is because many years ago, I got involved in scuba diving for a very short period. I still distin…

TomI've just read the now-locked thread regarding FS planet and the threats of legal action etc. This whole sad scenario reminds me of another bozo who thought he could use 'the law' to help him by threatening to sue everyone for everything he did wrong to himself (no names, but he tried to copyright Flight Simulation etc...)What's even sadder is that there are so many unscrupulous lawyers out there who prey on the total ignorance of others to line their own pockets by encouraging 'no-hope' cases to proceed.I.M.H.O. there's only one thing worse than these idiots who think they know the law (or even think they're lawyers themselves) - that's an actual lawyer who'll take adv…

Is there anything available out there as freeware that allows you to see the time on the screen while you are flying? I don't want to have to keep pressing "Alt" and checking the time through the "World, Time and Season" option. Thanks,Nick

Since I screwed around for 2 hours with my machine and tech support, I'll pass on the simple trick. The whole idea is...After right clicking on the desktop and choosing "Properties, Settings" you will see 2 Monitor icons....Click on the Monitor 2 icon and then be sure the box for ""Extend My Desktop Onto This Monitor." is UNCHECKED, and apply if necessary. ( I know, doesn't sound logical, and is just the opposite of what you do if you put in a second PCI video card.)Now the elusive "Nview" tab can be accessed.Go to Monitor 1 and "right" click that icon. Choose "Properties, Nview (Tab)".The Nview "tab" then becomes the primary and controlling set-up box for how the monitors…

Well I finally left WinME for good! I installed WinXp FULL INSTALL on my AMDXP2100 Box. Previously I had always installed the VIA 4in1 Drivers for the VIAKT333 Chipset and "THE BRIDGES" North and South, other wise the BOX would not run. Not so with WinXP it runs very well. Loadem or leave'em be??????RegardsTony Ascaso, RN

  9. I noticed when I have my landing lights on when taxiing they look different then all my other aircraft. Where as the other aircraft cast a sort of light that seems feathered or airbrushed on the runway the new 727 cast a solid set of triangles. Is this normal or do I have a setting screwed up somewhere? Thanks!Shane

Just downloaded the FSD T-38. Excellent aircraft, but when I went to install the service pack... it said I needed to register. I thought the plane was freeware?!?Also... for those who have bought the Mig-21 by Captain Sim... is there an easier way of paying for the package? PayPal tried to charge me money to use their merchant software and then said I had to wait until my next CC statement came to get my "member number." In my opinion that is a bunch of crap... so is there a better way or do I have to use PayPal and wait a month for the next bill?!?!?!? Hi y'all,I have two monitors running from one GF4Ti4600. Generally the setup works perfect, but there are still some questions open.In the device manager I have 4(!) monitors installed. One is my LG Flatron 915, the other three are standard monitors ( no special driver is installed for the 2nd monitor). Here is the first question:Why do I have three monitors installed?. When I unistall one of them XP will reinstall it during reboot. Here is the 2nd question:During bootup the monitor switches refresh rates 2 or 3 times, and after that it reloads all the desktop icons. Is this normal? If yes, why? Am I doing soemthing wrong here?As I said apart frm this issues everything is ru…

I know there has been some posts regarding this observation, but when they were HOT Topics, I had a new P4A hot rod (in March) and I didn't pay those posts much attention. But now it seems the sim's performance has slipped some. Once the blue in the sky became a solid white overcast suddenly, scenery sections blink sometimes from a solid hue into fine detail, ATC calls my "Chautauqua" ERJ-145s "Cathay or recently "China Southern."What's up here? I haven't added any scenery files yet, but lots of new aircraft and texures. I use TTools alot.Is this normal? Anybody else see this?If so, should I uninstall then reinstall?Any key items, other than the traffic .bgl and aircraft f…

Does anyone here have Airport 2000 volume 3 running in FS2002? My question is; do the aircraft that come with this product work in FS2002, and if so, any comments? I recall there was a neat B737NG included, which ran well on FS2000.Thanks,Bruce.

I posted this in their forum but I haven't got an answer. In the demo if KIAD, the jetways and stuff aren't dynamic, when you tune the frequency, they just appear there. For some reason I thought they were dynamic? Is this different in the real version. I just need a quick answer bcause I really want to buy KIAD.Thanks in advance!

I just read that Boeing has converted the 737 line to a moving production line (I've seen an article on the 717 line- cool stuff) and that it takes 14 days to build one, with a goal of 8! obviously that is final assembly, and not component fabrication. I know that the fuselages are esentially sent whole from Boeing Wichita (seen plenty of photos of that!)Tim
