Finally got around to doing Delta's Old colors as I haven't seen one yet I could sink my teeth into. There are a few innacuracies in one or two I have seen, so I fixed it right up. Also added the older white nose livery which i personally liked better than the black nose. Here's some shots, will be posting these soon. Thanks go to Mike Stone for this fabulous model. Now I just want to get him to dirty the wheels for me...:)http://www.flightsimmers.net/airport/hornit/dal72.jpghttp://www.flightsimmers.net/airport/hornit/dal72wn.jpg

Does anyone know if the following add-ons are able to be used in FS2002?1. Mad Dog 98/20002. Pilot's L1011 for 98/2000Both of these products are very good - there is still nothing that I have come across that even compares to Mad Dog for MD-8x panels. Paul Golding's work for FS2000 is great stuff, but I still like the Mad Dog panel just a tad more. As far as the L10-11 panels go, there is nothing out there that compares to the version that Pilot's put out for FS98/2000.I would try and install these two add-ons into FS2002, but as I am not as familiar (yet) with the FS2002 directory and file structure and what to do in case of screwups (i.e. which files to backup prior…

Hi everybody,I know I'm not the 1st one writing about this topic but I want to try it again. I'm looking for Steve Small's improved air file for the Baron 58 on FS2K2. I accept any copyright, affirm not to redistribute it or to do anything with it not permitted by the author.I've written an email to Steve but he didn't answer. If anybody is authorized to provide the file to me or know where to get the file I would be really glad. Thanks a lot, Thomas.

:::Hi,Have someone tried the new Elite MD-81 Jet 7.0 IFR simulator? I must say that it looks very interesting. :-) After having flown with PS 1.3 for about three years now, you can say I got the taste for full system flying.:-lolIt only costs $399. And for that price, you get a full system MD-81 panel,......which works....hopefully. :-lolhttp://www.flyelite.com/jet7.htmSo, did anyone try it. And if so, what is you verdict? There is a demo to download. But it has system and time limits.:-(Fly safe, :-waveStaffan Ahlberg - FFG

  9. Sorry for those of you who have heard my obsessional concerns over this, however I'm hoping there will be some new readers who might just have emperical evidence. GinoC posted some positive info on this, but I'll take more. For those who haven't seen the arguement, it goes like this: since FS2002 involved almost steady HD reads, ~ 1 or more per second of flight, ranging from 120KB to 2.4MB on my system, I'm thinking this may in fact be a source of low level stutters on my (and other) systems. Hardly anyone has tested out ultra fast SCSI using the Cheetah X15 to see if these HD accesses in fact have less impact on CPU use than with ATA drives. Here is a pic of HD read…

I think did something that deleted my default airport scenery for every airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have added so much scenery lately I have no I idea where I went wrong. What file has this scenery and where can I find it on the disk? Or, any good guesses on what I did and how I can fix it? I have been running FS2002 with Win98SE for a few months now, and find that it plays quite well (FPS, etc, but perhaps a little slow at loading up (Base install) aircraft etc) I have the chance to run WinXP home on this machine, and was wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare WinSE and WinXP home ed. If there is no improvement, It may be as well to stick with Win 98SE, as FS2002 would be the only reason I would be thinking of upgrading. Cheers Chris

Howdy, folks- I'm expecting a nice check in a month or less, and the 'ol lady says I need new FS controls. So, with that in mind, and having spent some time reading online reviews only to emerge even more uncertain what's best, I thought I'd best consult the best resource available... you. I'm a former pilot, now disabled and hgomebound, with way too much time for virtual aviation. BTW, keep me in mind if you ever need a beta-tester, eh? Here's the deal- I've had a lot of different controls over time. I prefer the high-end ones, because I use them a lot. Sooner or later all of them develop that wibbity spot in the middle, floppy, due to the inevitable wear. I've rebui…

Hi all,In FSUIPC i use the value settings for every axis of my controllers. I have a CH USB yoke and CH pro pedals (gameport). Through some tricks i have enbled toebreaks on the pedals, as was described in thsi forum a few months ago. The pedals are connected to USB through an adapter.Problem is that my toe-brake settings always default to 512 in FSUPIC when i start up FS2k2. My values are much lower (60-64) so i have to change them every time i start up Fs2k2. I've read here before that i can fix the settings with "locked=1" in one of the CFG-files. I think it's FS2002.CFG, but anyway, i tried that back then but it didn't work. Any suggestions ?Thanx,Cas

All those who know about SIDs around london area:I've just noticed an a/c going in a different direction than from what i'm use to with the ordinary traffic coming into Gatwick. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a Federal Express DC-10 heading out towards LYD (Lydd), as a guess.I know that Fed. Alright I am starting to get really upset here with flightsim.com I CAN NEVER GET IN. I have been setting here for a damn 25 MINUTES! trying to get in and all the "nodes" are busy. Its REALLY starting to ##### me off. Sorry for my crude language but this has been going on for a while. Is there aNYTHING we can do to get flightsim.com to allow more people in. I haved tried emailing them and they come back with a sorry answer saying "too bad, we do what we can". YEA RIGHT! I mean flightsim.com has great planes, files, etc but its such a pain to try and get into! I am not going to pay for access to freeware add-ons. Anyone else seem to have this problem with fligh…

Is anyone working on "cracking" the code that ATC uses to vector your aircraft? Maybes its been done and I am overlooking it somewhere. But it should would be nice to have a little app that allows you to correct vectors that ATC gives you. I know that at several airports they are off from the real world.[div align=center][link:members.cox.net/fstimes/wetimage.html]Click Here For Weather Image of the Day!

For the second time in a month flying in the UK during summer (July & August) I have encountered regions covered in snow. The first time was flying along the coast of Lincolnshire and Humberside two weeks ago. I double checked my sim world time and date to make sure I had not messed up. Then this morning I was flying over Wales and there were the snow textures again. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a FS2k2 bug? Here a some pics showing what I'm talking about:Jeff Williams (KDCA)

Hi,Is there a way to calculate the different RPM/Man Press to reach a specific power setting? What I mean is the following:a 78% power setting for the commander 115 requires 29" at 2400RPM. Is there a way to calculate this 29/2400 setting or should it always be provided in an AOM i.e. it can't be calculated? Thanks for your help,Egbert

What is meant by "cache size" in the FS2K2 scenery library? What are the units? gigabytes, megabytes, kilobytes, etc? What cache size is best and how high can it be set?Does changing it "generally" make any difference in FS2K2 performance or frame rates? What is the purpose of checking "empty cache on exit?"Thanks for your thoughts and experiences!Airbus

  22. Ladies and Gentlemen,I started another post tonight on the subject of ADFs. I found out, to my shock and horror (I almost spilt my beer) that FS2000 default gauges don't allow for half frequencies when twiddling your ADF i.e. Lear, Concorde gauges. This was a surprise to me - it may not be to most of you - but the bottom line is that 5,000 downloads (across five sites) of the Mikko/Kari/Mark Red Arrows pack now have panels that don't do quite everything they should do in FS2002, as I hadn't checked that. Now, nobody has complained yet ... not one ... so it's possible that nobody navigates anyway or just bungs up the GPS mid-screen if they have to; and so I don't think,…

I just found out about a great improvement to my setup!I have dual monitors. On one of them I have FS2002. On the other one I have flightmax and the RealityXP radiostack. I always found it annoying that I have so much unused desktop space to the left right of the radio stack on my 2nd monitor as I used it horizontal. I changed the display orientation to vertical and turn the monitor 90 degrees. This is absolutely great as I can now have the whole XP radio stack and fsflightmax almost in original size and have almost no unused space left.It is so simple try it.Alex
