I am considering upgrading to Athlon XP2100 from T-bird 1.4. My current setup is Abit KG7 (no raid)512 MB PC2100GeForce 4 Ti4400I am interested in frame rates for FS2K2. Currently getting low rates in busy airports 6-13 FPS(like most people, for instance simflyers LAX with very dense or dense details turned on, I use PAI planes for AI traffic). Wondering what kind of rates with better CPU, similar system I would get? Can anyone with similar upgrade tell me if it was worth it? ThanksBrian

..... on my gaming computer. :'( Although I'm not positive. Recently, every time I reboot, I see a line that Setup is configuring my files. There is no need for Setup to do any such thing! I haven't gotten any suspicious e-mails lately but I have been installing lots of scenery and planes for FS2K2.A quick visit to some virus webpage told me that the Goner virus puts a file called "wininit.ini" on your computer. Sure enough, I did a Search and found such a file in the Config folder of the game computer. There is no such file on my work computer. Can anyone confirm that this file is part of a virus? When I had my new MB installed, they removed my McAfee virus progr…

I am looking for a program that will capture your flight on video. I have tried using the flight video in FS2002, but it shows little improvment from the one in FS2000. Its still choppy, regardless of what speed u seem to record it at. I seem to have trouble with it when pushing back and starting engines. I have also tried a program called Hypercam, which captures whats on the screen, but it carnt handle a full size window in either normal or full screen, when u set it to 16fps. Can anyone recommend a program for this task? Thanks for any suggestions. Cheers Chris

Hey crew, I haven't seen anything on this in the forums yet: Well Manuel Ambulo has released- an Airport chart viewer- an ATC Radar ScreenThe chart viewer looks like AirportPrinter but it has options and you can see your aircraft. A very handy tool on the international airports... And the radar screen is for multiplayer use, showing a specific airport and all the players flyin around. A bit like CH Server/Client in the FS98 days. Two very neat tools, check them out!Chart viewer: airchv12.zipRadar: atcrds11.zipBoth available at FlightSim.ComRegards :-wavehttp://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg#1 showing me pushing back and the airport chart#2 showing the ra…

Hey... I have used and installed FS2k2 on this laptop many times before and never had this problem. When I install and it gets to 50% it says somjething about not being able to write to a file called gmax_tutorials.exe It says make sure it's not in use and it says check for significant hard drive space. I have *plenty* of hard drive space, and i have no other programs running. i've tried to restart and all...any suggestions?

Hi!Am I the only one who reacts about NYC default airports?I am sure you will have been to KJFK and seen what it looks like;it is about as simple and primitive as the FS 98 version.I wonder if Microsoft bears a grudge to New York.Even my local Swedish airports (I live in Sweden), like ESSA Arlandaand ESSB Bromma Airport are much more refined than KJFK.Also, does anyone know if any KJFK scenery is in the pipelinesomewhere? I don't want the Wilco's Airport 2000-version.Grateful for hunches and news.Keep flying.Hans HermanssonSWEDEN

This weekend I downloaded a couple of Kari Virtanen's FS 2000 Saab Drakens, which are among my favourite military jets. The odd thing is that when I will select one of those planes in FS 2002 I am getting an error message, saying that "model xxxx cannot be found in the library". However, the plane will still work without any problems, and thus I have no clue what that error message is supposed to mean.Anybody know more? Thanks!

I purchased Emma Field yesterday, I have been reading the reviews about it, and figured it'de be a great thing to get. Anyway, to my main point. I downloaded it, and then had my mom try and get the registration code. Her and my dad got it all installed (my dad flys on it more than I do..,lol) and told me it was all set to go, when I tried it it said it needed the registration code, so I asked my dad if he put it in the first time he said yes. He even wrote it down, but to my luck and his, he seemed to have misplaced it :( My mom said she won't re-enter her credit car number again, (it did take alot of trying to get her to get it for me) so now Im stuck with a cool loo…

After months of work, I finally tried to hook up my new throttle quadrant (an actual Baron quadrant reincarnated to a virtual life with a bunch of slide potentiometers, etc). Well, I booted up FS2K2 and assigned the left and right throttles to it just to test it. It saw them fine but FSUIPC didn't and the throttles remained stuck at half throttle. Nothing seemed to make a difference. I finally went back to my old throttles (a Suncomm throttle plugged into a gameport/USB converter) and now that doesn't work! In the old days it was simply a matter of changing the IDs of the joysticks but these are all USB now and the ID tab doesn't even exist. What am I missing (besides a w…

Hello,Is anyone having problems with Mike Stone's GMAX 727-200?I was trying to set it up for an online flight and FS2002 kept shutting down to desktop with no error message. After that tryied with a downloaded F100 and it worked ok, so I guess the problem is from the airplane, or airfile.Comments please. Thank you.Lu

I filed a IFR flight plan from CYHX (Halifax) to CYUL (Montreal). Did everything as per usual, took off with no prob. ATC instructed me to fly 060. So I did. But! and this is a big BUT!. I was never given a new vector. I was handed off from centre to centre but I continued to fly 060. If I changed course on my own, ATC was yelling at me to return to 060. Too make a long story short, I flew 060 until I ran out of fuel and augered in somewhere of the coast of Greenland. Anyone ever experience this?

Hello :DI am posting this message as a tribute to the Simubuild Freeware Group (SFG?!), and as a counter to the unjustified criticism. I have a VERY lowly PC (PIII 450MHz :( with GF2 64Mb card and 1998 Sound "blaster"). Yes, it's old, but I can use the Simubuild A340 more than satisfactorily :) The level of detail is well worth the lower fps, and I can't even start to understand why people would attack this freeware group.. maybe these critics are sadists or something :-lolI have no complaints whatsoever with this bird, and the BWIA repaint will stay in my hangar until the local museum ask for their PC exhibit to be returned :-xxrotflmao Keep it up, guys!

Hi there!I just noticed the gear sound while flying an approach with Carenado's C-152 - I must have hit the gear button on my joystick accidentally. Then I thought "whatever" but to my surprise the plane crashed as if the gear was not retracted. I tried it again and this behaviour is reproducible. Not only with this plane but also with other add on planes that don't have rectractable landing gears. From the outside view everything looks normal but the simulator thinks I have not extracted the gear. So I looked into the .cfg files but couldn't find anything. I even compared the C-152 with the default B737, no hint either. The default C-182S (not RG) does not have this behav…
