Hello all,I was checking some flightsim sites yesterday and found a group that is selling CDs loaded with FREEWARE from many of you out there. Some may think that they are ok because they are offering a service of compiling add on, loading it all in a CD and selling it, just because there are sites that charge memberships. But, hey, I never paid a cent to these sites and continue doing d'load every single day. It's just a matter of patience.But the big problem is the others products they are offering, too. Recently I've been experiencing some throttle surging. Seems the onset was after installing the fix. Any others noticed this or is it my own anomaly ?

I've just updated my computer to an Athlon 2100XP with 512MB of 2700DDR333 memory with my existing GF3 Ti 500 graphics card.I've now put basically all the sliders on max. and i'm getting a steady FPS of about 25FPS on the ground with scenery such as EGKK UK2000.I'm wondering how should I perfect this system for use with FS2002?Any Tweaking (default setup @ the mo), and any recommended graphics tweaker tools?CheersWill

Just built my new system the other dayAthlon XP 2000+ECS K7S5A motherboardWin2000 sp3GeForce3 Ti200256 DDR RAMI set ALL the details to maximum and FS2002 runs PERFECTLY smooth! I get around 40fps with the chopper in Chicago. AMD ROCKS!!

During my flight to London from Brisbane via Incheon, Korea - while descending on approach into Incheon, the aircraft emmitted a very loud engine roar , which to me sounded exactly like the engines had been put into some kind of reverse thrust . I have flown MANY times in 747-400s and have never experienced this before. At the time, the weather was very bad as a tropical typhoon was in the area - and , I don't know why, but I had a sensation that we were coming in quite fast. On arrival at Brisbane airport on my return trip, we also had poor weather with very poor vis, but the landing seemed much slower and smoother to me -- and no loud engine roar . Admitting that I am not the brightest bulb on the ceiling sometimes I need help with these new addons that add ground vehicles and gates for airports. I have downloaded the AFCAD1.22(or latest version) and see files in the library for airport improvements. Now I would like to try a addon but am lost as to how do it. If one kind soul could guide me through it once I'm sure I can do it on my own after that .Thanks in advance.

Well, after many months of faithful service, FS2002 finally gave up the ghost. I went to do some "flying" yesterday, and it would not boot up. All other programs do just fine.After backing up my "add-ons", new textures, etc. I deleted FS2002. Upon trying to reinstall into the same directory (after I made sure it no longer existed on the disk), FS2002 tells me that another game isinstalled in that directory and that I should choose a new one. I really would like to use the same, as my backed-up scenery.cfg points to that directory.My question is, should I also delete the programs which pointed to FS2002 (JAB, AIU, FlightZip, FSMeteo,etc.)?I'm not a 'puter guru, so I though…

Hi, Many times I make screen shots for my friends in order to show them what is FS 2002. I would like to try another interesting thing, which would be to provide to the same friends, some minutes or seconds from a landing or a take off or even a pushback, by using a short video. We can make that also with FS 2002 but only those ones who have FS 2002 can see those videos, and sceneries or aircrafts must be the same, otherwise it doesn't work properly. My question is: is there a program to make a video where everybody can see in windows media player or some other program? I tried camtasia, but every 30 seconds video is a file of 100 megabites which is too much and in other …

Further to my thread on CPU temps I checked on AMD own site re max operating specs.They say for my unit 2000+XP the max OPERATING temp at the die is 90c.To me that says that it will run ok at 90c. Yes??, No???As I stated before I have a temp of 73c to 75c in FS, measured using Asus Probe utility. I might add that the temp indicated in the BIOS is the same as the Probe readings.I suppose I should just upgrade my cooling anyway but why fix it if it ain't broke.Ausie

Hello,I can't get answer for strange movements from AI jets when taxiing...Everything is OK with my AI traffic except this very unrealistics way of running on taxiway.I heard that it would be for FS engine ???But if this is the case I wonder why I don't read anything about it ?Please, please help me to understand. :-hang

Howdy,Just a headsup that, after receiving permission from J.L. Stubbs, an updated version of his vintage FS98 Goose 2d panel.bmp has been posted to the Avsim Library. Look for it shortly. Unfortunately, this particular panel will only work with FS2002 Pro Edition. A screenshot is posted below for those who haven't already seen it. Further Edit: (Oops ... forgot to remove the "M" gauge from the screenshot ... this is a 3rd party test programme which may, or may not be released in the future. The gauge has been removed from the panel.cfg, just not the screenshot.)

Hi guysIve just started to get to grips with the flight planner within fs2002 and have used it to successfully fly autopilot routes within europe. However, this may be a stupid question but it stuck me that, whilst flying within europe, i can enter waypoints such as vor's into the flight planner for the autopilot to follow. However, what method is used when flying over large expanses of water such as the atlantic or pacific? Also, when entering waypoints, is there a "protocol" to follow when selecting the actual waypoints to enter ? Thanks for any helpGary

When I am flying say over the alps, and I want to take a screenshot, how can I make the zoom on the aircraft increase/decrease but not on the background mountains. I thought I'd mention this because Anniette mentioned she was sent virus's from some people! I too have had the same experience just this week. There are obviously idiots out there watching and preying on this forum. If you're reading - I wish you the worst - I haven't even finished paying for my computer and it is unusable until I get this worm virus fixed - thanks LOSER. I may have to re-install everything.
