Well, more testing on fps and fluidity and guess what works best of all? The one thing that MUST be turned OFF to raise fps and give you a smooooth time?FSAA!Turn that sucker off!I just took off from KLAX (a dense default airport in FS2002) at dusk in a PSS CX 744 with EXTREMELY DENSE scenery and autogen settings in the FS2002 dialogue boxes (with Gerry's autogen trees that are much more dense than the default FS trees!), 100nm visibility, 50% cloud textures, 60% ATC, all display boxes checked and marked everywhere, and 85% terrain mesh settings; and it was smoooooooooooother than anything so far.No doubt, terrain mesh texture is also a fps killer, but FSAA boots the boo…

I bought a Push-to-talk switch thinking it would be cool to use my Avcomm headset for online ATC. I spent the morning putting together the circuitry needed to convert the mic impedence and it all works EXCEPT the mike is live all the time. I somehow envisioned the PTT switch as a simple switch that made the connection between the mic and the transmitter but that doesn't seem to be the case. I can probably gut the thing and somehow make a simple switch out of it but I'm thinking there must be a more elegant solution - if only I knew how such things work. Does anyone know? Thanks!David

Check the AVSIM file library. We have just uploaded the latest version of Active Camera Pro (v 1.3). After many requests we added two interesting features :- The user can now move the eye point up or down when in external view. While walking around the aircraft it is possible to increase/decrease the height of the view e.g. so one could view above the wing and over the engine (not realistic but useful for spotters and aircraft designers). - The ground turbulence and head latency can be turned on and off via a keyboard shortcut (useful while flying). Has anyone flown into KRNO (Reno Nevada USA) from the south and have ATC give you the run around?I just flown into this airport and ATC vectored me to 34L, which was fine, but thats when the ATC couldn't make up its mind....First it was descend and maintain 8000, then it was 8200, then a few mins later it was 7000, then a few mins after that it 7400. Finally it was 6200, then it went back to 7400. I didn't even get cleared to contact the tower for landing until I was almost over the numbers!! HI All,If you've stopped by today and gotten a "cannot find server" error, it's because the server isn't currently there.Apparently, about 8 this morning the hard drive crashed. My internet host provider is working on remounting the hard drive and restoring everything. But they haven't been able to give me any estimated time to have everything up and running again.Hopefully soon. I have a Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro and CH rudder pedals (both non-USB). Can I use them together so, for instance, in flying helis I do not use the twist feature of the joystick but the rudder pedals instead?Thanks, Tom

Hi one and all..............i'm kicking around the idea of running 3 monitors with my copy of FS2002..........one for dead ahead, one for port window view, and one for starboard window view.........i know this can be done under W98 or XP........my question relates to whether the setup i'm proposing will have the horsepower to run it convincingly........the primary card will be my existing Ge Force2 AGP(32mb).......secondary cards 2 Ge Force 2 MX(32mb)PCI.........with a 1 Ghz Athlon processor and 512 mb of RAM.........appreciate any thoughts..........alan d kerr

First - this --IS-- an awesome add-on!!!I think I have most of the controls working (it is fun!).However, the NumPad-0 does not "crouch".I examined the ActiveCameraPro.cfg (I have one in boththe FS2K2 root and Modules folders) and don't see anentry for NumPad-0.Could someone help (post their ActiveCameraPro.cfg entries)?Also, please confirm that it's NOT possible to view theexternal plane when in flight - in other words, you canonly view in external view mode while on the ground.Thanks!JerryG

Hi guys. I've been flying some addon aircraft lately (DF737, POSKY 767 etc) and just noticed today that my default radio stack for the Cessna Skylane etc doesn't work anymore! I am unable to change frequencys on either the com or nav radios manually. The + and - hotspots show up when I hover, but clicking the mouse doesn't change frequency. The ADF and transponder will allow me to change the frequency up (+) but the down (-) hotspots don't appear anywhere.I must have loaded some gauges that screwed this up. Does anyone know what files I must replace to fix this? I'd rather not reinstall the whole program as I have quite a few aircraft installed which have added stuf…

HelloI have heard that at Los Angeles KLAX all 4 runways are used most all of the times simultaniously. For example 24R 24L 25R 25L. Can someone let me know just what runways are normally used for what purpose simulataniously?ThanksMichael Cedergren
