I just had a chance to fly the CRJ on business recently, I rreally like the speed and elegance of this aircraft, as opposed to the rickity 'ol turbo-prop I usually get for quick flights.My question, I noticed there's no leading edge flaps, I studied in depth the flight characteristics and it appears the aircraft has to really be flown down 'hard', our descent from FL270 in the quick 40 minute flight was noticebly, deliberate. So not having leading edge flaps is the aircraft harder to drop in altitude ?And further more, should I quite my excellent, very well paid job in IT, and chase my dream of flying a CRJ or other business aircraft ? The former members of the group have decided to leave due to internal problems and reform as a new group. The members felt that this was a necessary move to ensure their further advancement with their projects and ideas. I just checked out Bill's new vesion of his wonderful ERJ panel. I love the new sounds he has included! I'm using it with Mike Stones GMAX ERJ-145 and I cannot seem to get the strobe lights to operate independently with this updated panel. I cannot turn them off using the switch on the overhead and hitting 'O' does not work either. I'm sure there is something that can be added to either the Aircraft or Panel .cfg that will correct this. Thanks for any help!Eric

I was wondering if you can make a flight route and continue to stay at your current position. Say if I wanted to do a flight from KBOS to KATL and then continue onto KSNA, I would like to remain at the same gate and not have move my plane until I am ready to depart. Is there any option to do this?

I'm currently flying the Archer II. When in 2D mode when I pull up the radio stack or gps, it comes up and blends in nicely with the panel (no border).When in the Virtual Cockpit mode, however, when I pull up the radio stack, gps, or other windows, they appear with my blue Windows border around them.Is there an easy way that I can get rid of the Windows border in VC mode without changing my Windows XP desktop/border settings?Hope this makes sense. The Archer II VC has a really nice look, but when pulling up (shift-2) the radio stack in VC mode and having my bright blue Windows border anouncing "Radio Stack" in the corner somehow detracts from the overall effect.Thanks, St…

I'm quite sure it has been posted before... is there any way to use a 757 model with PIC's 767 panel? I use Lee Hetherington POSKY/PIC merger and it works fine for me, but since POSKY does not have a 757 model, I was wondering if it was possible to do so with another 757 model.Thanks!

A month or so ago I used the FSW weather program that came with the cloud sets to start a flight at Meigs in a thunderstorm. It was one of the pre-programmed "situations." Now, every time I start up the sim, I'm smack dab in the middle of another storm which can only be deactivated by clearing all weather - you can't load real weather "over" the situation unil you have cleared all weather. How do I re-set default weather to something a tad less violent and wet? Thanks. Colin

I posted this on the "other" website forum and didn't get an answer so I figured I'd try here. FSNAV has suddenly developed a problem in that when I zoom in on the map, the zoom setting won't hold for more than 30 seconds after which it reverts back to 1:1 (entire world view). Really a pain when trying to drag and drop or view closeups of your flight plan. Went to support at the website, but Helge had no answer. Anyone experience this and if so were you able to correct it. Note...I've already tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. Thanks in advance.Mike

Tonight for the first time I flew out of my hub (KLAX) to a high altitude airport, Colorado Springs (KCOS.)Did I remember it was high altitude? No. It was dark, it was raining and only when the horizon seemed to be getting too high and I saw the outline of TREES did I say to myself "Hmmm, 5000 feet might be about more like 50 feet even if you've got your barometer set properly."I'm not sure how I'm supposed to compensate for flying to places where sea level and ground level are no longer associated with one another. Is the altitude of the airport all I need to keep in mind?Thanks
